Capítulo 1068: Chapter 4: Things Are Definitely Not Peaceful Here (Side Story 04)
(This chapter is an extra chapter from “Star Alliance · Conflict” Chapter 4)
…
“Hello sir, please show your boarding pass.”
The gentle flight attendant gazed at the extraordinary demeanor of Lin Lu, a VIP able to drive a private vehicle into the Space Port’s inner sanctum. After all, this was the royal capital of the Yake Empire, and just this level of energy was enough to be suffocating.
With a handsome yet cold face, A stepped forward and connected with the electronic pass in his hand.
A green light flashed.
“Wishing you a pleasant journey, Mr. Lin Lu.” The beautiful flight attendant bowed to Lin Lu, who was maintaining his warm smile over there.
The imposing Lin Lu walked on the red carpet, directly entering the first-class cabin area through the VIP passage.
Meanwhile, outside the Space Port, several floating cars were simultaneously stopped.
Rows of fully armed soldiers leapt down, leaving the entrance administrator dumbfounded, but remembering the prior orders from the Military Affairs Department, he simply gnawed at his gums and used the lift to hide underground.
It’s only ten minutes!
…
“Finally safe.”
Lin Lu, having boarded the spaceship, finally let out a sigh of relief.
The first-class lounge is in the serene top-level observation area, spread out in two rows, directly connected by a wide floor-to-ceiling window.
There was no one sitting next to Lin Lu; A and Z, the sibling pair, sat on the other side of the aisle.
This provided ample private space for Lin Lu.
His mood finally relaxed, Lin Lu took out his Sky Communication, preparing to watch some naive ***** to while away the boring travel time.
Plugging the in-ear close-range communication earphones into his ear, Lin Lu first glanced around, feeling quite satisfied with the environment.
The flight attendant wasn’t flitting around in front of him but was quietly standing by in the corner.
So, Lin Lu pressed play.
“Ah ah ah, ama da!”
A string of sultry sounds suddenly resounded throughout the entire first-class area.
“Pff.”
A middle-aged man in front who had just taken a half-sip of coffee sprayed it directly.
Lin Lu shuddered, nearly tossing his Sky Communication aside.
At the critical moment, the close-range communication earphones were… out of power!
His biggest mistake was sheer inexperience.
Lin Lu frantically forced the Sky Communication off, then looked up with a sorrowful gaze…
There, the girl named Zero, who was munching on a lollipop, looked at Lin Lu in surprise.
Moreover, several pairs of eyes in the vicinity were boring curiously into him.
“Sorry, someone called me; I forgot to mute my ringtone.” At this moment, Lin Lu’s super brain had already craftily reacted, smiling with an approachable smile as he addressed the surroundings.
Just at this moment, Zero mockingly scoffed, uttering a line that Lin Lu would remember for life, “Hmph, who’d use Yumihi’s voice as a ringtone.”
A, with long, pale blue hair, listened to his sister’s voice and nodded approvingly.
Dr. Lin finally became enraged from humiliation. He gazed sternly at the girl named Zero across from him, “When have you even seen her!”
Zero’s pretty face turned slightly awkward at being stared at, turning to look out the window, muttering softly:
“Hmph, I’ve never watched any 18+ films…”
Lin Lu was grinding his teeth in frustration, wondering if these two were truly his assistants!
…
By the time the Guard Corps of the Elder Council barged into the Space Port, Lin Lu had already broken through the atmosphere.
He looked at the increasingly small blue planet behind him, gently stroking the silver watch on his left wrist, “I’ll be back… bearing honors.”
Yet, what he didn’t know was that, upon the Imperial Elder Council receiving the news, a tall silent beauty standing on a lawn lifted those compelling eyes hidden with a deep allure to look toward the sky.
“Lin Lu, you bastard…”
“You must… come back alive.”
“In this life, you must marry me!”
As she said this, teardrops as large as beans rolled down from the corners of her eyes.
“Miss Ji Mei, the minister is calling you over.” At this moment, a guard suddenly ran over from afar, shouting loudly.
Using the back of her hand to wipe away the tears, Ji Mei regained her usual proud and cool demeanor, looking indifferently behind her.
“Coming.”
…
Ninety-five light-years away in the Vika Star Domain, the ships moved busily in space.
Here lay the thriving scene of the space industry.
Numerous bases of space miners sprawled around the asteroids.
A year ago, this region provided 85% of the mineral resources amongst the twenty nearest countries.
The Vika Mining Company began an aggressive expansion.
However, over the past year, the Vika Federation’s unending oppression and control finally exceeded the miners’ endurance, prompting them to rebel with armed forces against the Vika Federation, initiating a prolonged war that continues to this day.
No one in the leadership of the entire Vika Federation anticipated that the loosely structured military organization formed by those space miners, the [Resistance Army], would resiliently withstand the blows from the elite fleet of the Vega Federation.
“Those junky Hawk Guard Ships, Genesis Cruisers, and Longbow Destroyers had been obsolete in the Federation for over fifteen years. Now, those trashy miners have dragged the war out using these warships. I want to ask…”
“Are you officers of this Guard Army all fools!”
“Tell me loud and clear, are you fools!”
“Jack, stand up, are you a fool.” A sunglasses-clad man in a black trench coat suddenly spun around and shouted loudly.
“Reporting to the supervisor, I am not!”
Upon hearing this response, the man in sunglasses sneered, abruptly raising a four-barreled Gauss pistol in his hand.
The gun’s dark muzzle pointed at the standing burly officer.
“Say it again.”
“Reporting to the supervisor, I am not!” Jack’s tall and robust physique showed not a hint of tremor, steadfastly stating.
The man referred to as the [supervisor] curled his lips in interest, lifting the gun, away from the other party’s head.
“Then tell me… our Vulture Guard Ship, Apocalypse Cruiser, Scythe Destroyer, Horror Battleship… this Space Fleet that can crush the neighboring countries twice, under you incompetents’ leadership, what results have they achieved!”
The supervisor’s voice was calm but exuded a chilling air.
“Reporting to the supervisor, I joined the fight seven times, my command authority lying in the sixth sequence, only possessing defense authority over six Vulture Guard Ships. In my combat career, I have destroyed 39 warships of the Resistance Army, with zero losses of my own. As for the other sequence fleets, they are beyond my jurisdiction. So, supervisor, I am not a fool!”
Jack answered loudly.
“Your current rank is Major, right… how many years?” The supervisor screened Jack, suddenly inquiring.
“Major for three years!”
“Very well, from now, your rank is promoted to Colonel, responsible for a complete fleet battle group, with six Horror Battleships at its core, all under your command. In three months, show me your results.”
The supervisor glanced nonchalantly at another 300-pound officer on the other side, “As for you, Colonel Henry, from today, go retire in the Logistics Department.”
“Pig-like waste!”
The obese officer went pale, while the former Major Jack, or rather now Colonel Jack, was brimming with red-faced excitement.
He snapped a crisp military salute!
“Supervisor, just give me 60 days, and I’ll completely eradicate the sixteen bases in sector 6021 for you!”
…
A month later, a run-down Vika passenger liner proceeded toward the asteroid cluster known as sector 6021.
On the liner, three hatted passengers quietly observed the view outside.
“It’s not peaceful here.”
Lin Lu’s eyes flashed with gravity as he glanced at the remnants by the edge of the route, scarred from artillery fire.
