Chapter 1105 - 646: Prologue to Version 3.0 · Meteor
Danerluo Port, Duke Kain Castle,
Zhao Zhao and Mo Yun looked at the task prompt on the system panel, waiting for Lis’s next instructions.
To be honest, although the mission reward this time is tempting and even offers contribution points for the Kane Floating City, the two of them were more focused on the mutation Lis just mentioned.
If they guessed right, it is related to the main plot of the 3.0 version.
If it were just an ordinary event, how could it possibly alarm someone as legendary as Lis?
Moreover, the appearance of Morris, the Archbishop and Legendary Priest of the Dawn Church, further highlighted this point.
Side quests surely wouldn’t involve such powerful NPCs, and according to Lis, this information also originated from the oracle of the God of Dawn?
Isn’t that a sure thing!
Based on the scarce information revealed by the game official of Divine Revelation about the 3.0 version, the nation war system will soon be activated in the next version.
This means that starting from version 3.0, the relatively closed six continents will be unlocked for players, allowing players from different regions to interact and even travel to other continents.
Lis also mentioned that Danerluo Port will be a key location in the upcoming mutation, meaning there are many such nodes.
There will definitely be some change, although it’s unclear why. It seems that neither Lis nor the Dawn Church fully understands what’s going to happen, but it surely won’t be Mo Yun’s speculation of exploring the ocean.
"Alright, you two hurry up and prepare."
Lis nodded at Zhao Zhao and Mo Yun, casually raised his hand, and the two were instantly enveloped by spatial waves, disappearing from Lis and Morris’s sight.
Morris, who had been silent, looked at Lis and said with a smile:
"Lis, you seem to be interested in these undead as well?"
For the Dawn Church, the peculiarity of the undead similarly caught their attention.
This extremely strange existence was initially thought by the Dawn Church to be the handiwork of the few in the Netherworld.
However, those in the Netherworld, apart from the lackadaisical ancient Death God Yeager, were embroiled in a fierce battle over the title of Lord of the Underworld and seemed to lack the energy to deploy such things.
Moreover, such a large-scale mutation is beyond the scope of what those few could orchestrate.
Thus, the people of the Dawn Church studied it but didn’t derive any useful information, let alone discover the secret behind the resurrection ability of the undead.
However, the strength of the undead is now quite low, and although their growth rate is fast, they seem to only reach the level of High-level Bronze, not enough to catch the attention of powerful forces like the Dawn Church.
But seeing Lis’s apparent interest in the undead, Morris became a bit curious too.
Though unsure how the impending mutation would unfold, Lis’s specific recruitment of undead intrigued Morris.
"Indeed, I’m somewhat curious."
Lis nodded, smiling, and said:
"Such a resurrection ability is indeed astonishing."
"You should be careful; although those two undead seemed perfectly normal, the church has noticed that the undead’s spirits seem to have some issues."
"They seem to have no respect for the supreme existence and even attempted to sneak into the cathedral at night just to climb onto the roof?"
"The cathedral guards have caught them many times, but no matter the punishment, the undead seem unafraid."
As Morris spoke, his expression was somewhat helpless, really unable to understand the player mindset.
Having spent so much time in the Dawn Cathedral of Bright City, he naturally experienced many outrageous actions by players.
"Thank you for your warning, Morris, I’ll be careful."
"With some proper guidance, the undead can indeed be utilized."
Upon hearing this, a slight smile emerged on Lis’s face.
Yeah, that’s so like players!
Lis knew very well how outrageous players’ actions could be.
Especially in the highly free game Divine Revelation.
As for why players want to climb up to the roof of the Dawn Cathedral, Lis knew the reason because he had done the same in his previous life.
There are many extreme challenge posts on the player forum, where players are more than willing to attempt seemingly impossible feats even without rewards or achievements.
Since they can’t die, they’ll go all out!
Among these, there is a particular type of bounty post.
It involves proposing extremely challenging death-defying attempts because the difficulty of completing such challenges is high, and many players who enjoy the spectacle even offer rewards for players to try the challenges in the posts.
Those who succeed can claim the entire bounty.
Some famous challenge posts are particularly eye-catching, with players naturally pooling rewards.
Climbing to the top of the Dawn Cathedral tower is one such challenge.
Because the Gothic spire of the Dawn Cathedral is the highest point in Bright City, many people are naturally interested, especially since there’s a reward involved.
Lis also tried to sneak up in his past life but unfortunately didn’t succeed.
After all, as the most important stronghold of the Dawn Church on the Fanor Continent, the defensive strength of the Dawn Cathedral is quite formidable.
Not to mention climbing to the top of the tower; even getting inside the cathedral is a Herculean task.
In his previous life, even when players generally reached the Golden Rank, no one could complete this challenge.
