Chapter 1069 - 1004: Arrival at Ice Song City
Beijing Time, 1 PM in the afternoon, Da Fei comes back online after having lunch. At this moment, Lilim is about to finish her transformation. Meanwhile, after the scare this morning, Da Fei feels quite drained, but his mind is also clearer. He spent most of the morning reflecting on life.
For example, he was eager to wash away the memory of the Japan Zone trip. At that time, he didn’t think much about it; he just wanted to make a splash and complete his long-held wish that he couldn’t achieve in reality, so he couldn’t miss the chance in the game. But now that he thinks about it in detail, the situation seems quite complex. His opponents are not only the players from the Japan zone; more troubling are those NPCs, whose power knows no national boundaries. He must be careful and fully prepared, with no thoughts of relying on luck.
As he ponders, a system prompt sounds:
——System Prompt: Your Lilim Camp has successfully recruited a Lilim Sea Demon!
It’s out! Da Fei rushes to the camp to see, where Deirdre and Hilda have been waiting for a long time. At this moment, a spider woman, her entire body glimmering white like an ice crystal, stands majestically in the camp’s array!
Gazing at this unit with a giant spider carrying the upper body of a beautiful woman on its back, Da Fei exclaims in shock: "Is this the Lilim Sea Demon?" As a sea demon, this form is not streamlined at all, resembling something like a crab paddling leisurely?
Hilda shakes her head: "After all, it’s a low-level Lilim’s soul. Even if it’s remolded into a physical form, it still follows its pre-life shape. However, this form allows the low-level Lilim to have a foothold in the world, which is quite unique. Please take a look at her attributes, sir."
Da Fei hurriedly checks the attributes:
——Lilim Sea Demon: Medium-sized ocean spiritual creature, Attack 65, Defense 130, Damage 30-60, Life 2350, Attack Speed 10, Move Speed 9, Mana 1300, Magic Resistance 75%, Ice Resistance 95%, Command Value: 150, Special Skills: Basic Divine Demon Bloodline, Ocean Creature, Upgrade Evolution, Frost Ring, Frost Shield.
Frost Ring: The Lilim Sea Demon can release a Frost Ring to deal large area damage and freeze enemies. The killing value is shared by all enemy troops within the ice ring.
Frost Shield: The Lilim Sea Demon can release a Frost Shield to increase Defense by 100 points, absorb 1000 points of damage, and reduce the enemy’s attack speed.
.....
Da Fei’s eyebrows jump in surprise; these are the Lilim’s attributes that were eagerly awaited! This initial life and defense are astoundingly high! If Da Fei hadn’t been accustomed to high-level units with thousands or even tens of thousands of life points, these attributes would probably have shocked him greatly.
Moreover, it truly lives up to being a species recruited with Ice Crystal Stone, possessing the legendary Frost Ring, a kind of magic dealing area damage like a Magic Tower. Whoever gets hit by this is unlucky, as the damage is not shared by enemy forces, thus referred to by players as "True Magic". As for the Frost Shield, it’s a must-have for a tank unit!
Da Fei couldn’t help but exclaim: "Aside from the slow speed and low attack damage, it’s otherwise a perfectly tanky unit! I wonder what it can upgrade and evolve into in the future."
Hilda nodded: "Since this Lilim is still in such a low-level Spider Demon form, her innate attributes and bloodline resources are very compatible. Thus, for her next upgrade, you should continue to develop along the bloodline path, allowing for more efficient enhancement of her blood defense and capabilities."
Blood series? Spider Demon? At this moment, Da Fei suddenly thinks of those two gemstone mines guarded by the Turtle Demigod in his hometown of the Blood Sea. Speaking of which, he is level 50 now and finally meets Makar’s requirements to reclaim those two mines, right? Will he have time?
However, if he can complete the task and gain Makar’s reward or assistance before going to the Japan Zone, he should definitely hurry!
Da Fei nodded: "Got it, my next step will be to develop along the bloodline path."
Deirdre smiled: "Master, she is idle now anyway; let me lead her to the water to familiarize herself with her functions."
Da Fei chuckled: "Alright, she indeed needs more familiarization."
Successfully nurturing a super species with unlimited growth and attributes that greatly satisfy Da Fei eases his mind quite a bit. The future task is to collect more Lilim’s Souls and stockpile Ice Crystal Stones. But speaking of which, this Phoenix Feather isn’t very helpful; it’s almost been a day without any new soul transactions.
Just then, another system prompt sounds:
——System Prompt: Your independently dispatched Vice Heroine, Katelina, and Elena have arrived at their appointed location.
They’re here! Katelina finally arrived, and Da Fei breathes a sigh of relief.
Now begins the downtime phase again, and Da Fei continues to fill the Magic Ball’s mana reservoir. Indeed, with no worries in mind, the downtime feels different. From now on, he won’t let her go on an independent expedition until she’s an unbeatable, all-powerful pirate equipped with divine artifacts; it’s just scaring himself otherwise.
Finally, at 4 PM Beijing Time, the fleet enters the Siren’s Devil Sea domain, and Da Fei becomes even more cautious, having the Blood Eagle scout close to the sea surface to avoid all Sea Race merchant fleets. However, by now the entire Devil Sea domain is already contaminated and spread by the Hydra’s corrupted blood, and there clearly are no Sea Race merchant fleets. Da Fei finally feels relieved to have the fleet enter at full speed.
As Da Fei entered the siren barrier shrouded in black mist, the long-lost Siren Hero Saphen appeared in the vortex gate riding a giant turtle. Her attitude was much more relaxed: "Warrior, did another follow-up fleet come for business?"
Da Fei laughed heartily: "That’s right, and later I’ll introduce you to a new friend. How’s Katelina and the others?"
"A new friend?" Saphen said with anticipation: "Good! Miss Catherine’s fleet arrived the day before yesterday and has already entered Ice Song City for rest. It’s also the first time you’ve visited Ice Song City, so I invite you to visit. No need for teleportation fee, please!"
Wahaha! Free teleportation fee, as it should be! Da Fei also didn’t hold back: "Alright!"
As Da Fei’s fleet followed the giant turtle into the vortex gate, a flash of light, a change of scene, and Da Fei’s fleet appeared in a vast, icy lake with dazzling ice light. This ice lake was covered by a massive ice cave, with a huge ice island in the middle. The island had towers of ice like fortresses, with Katelina’s fleet anchored beside it, and the scale of this fleet had obviously grown.
Da Fei was overjoyed! Not only did Katelina not lose her fleet, but it expanded! Wahahaha, it was indeed worth the morning’s anxiety!
At this time, an ethereal, distant song floated from the fortress on the ice island. Led by the giant turtle, Da Fei’s fleet docked at this city, which seemed like a fairy tale ice sculpture. Nearing, Katelina and Elena waved at him from the pier.
—System Prompt: Your independently dispatched Vice Hero Katelina and Elena have returned to your team. You received spoils of war: Pearl +1350 units, acquired a large pirate warship, and obtained 216 pirate prisoners.
"Acquired" a pirate warship!
Da Fei was suddenly startled, knowing that although he had defeated the Beastmen and captured three giant Beastmen warships, he didn’t have the ship certificate, so those Beastmen warships couldn’t be considered his own. He could destroy them, burn them, but couldn’t obtain them. This was the same principle as previously defeating Yasoro’s fleet or defeating George’s fleet. The system wouldn’t let players obtain large ships so easily.
Then there’s only one possibility in this situation, Master-level Pirate skill from Katelina, possessing as one’s own!
Da Fei quickly checked Katelina’s attributes, and sure enough, the "Possess as Own" skill had been used and was in a lengthy six-month skill cooldown period! Moreover, Da Fei previously found this skill to be unusable, meaning it could only be utilized when Katelina was independent?
Without much thought, Da Fei quickly jumped off the pier and approached them: "Katelina, Elena, thanks for your hard work!"
Katelina shook her head and sighed: "I made the Captain worry, but it’s Miss Elena who deserves it. We encountered very tricky pirates, but ultimately we prevailed and did not fail the Captain’s trust."
Elena also shook her head and smiled: "Perhaps it’s Miss Katelina’s nighttime harassment tactics taking effect. The pirates, unwilling to gain nothing, feared our fleet docking, forcing themselves into a final attack, which gave us an opportunity."
Katelina sighed: "Actually, I underestimated the pirates here. I think I still need to continue my training!"
Training is necessary, but never again let you go alone! Da Fei quickly replied: "Indeed, after returning, there’s a noble mission awaiting us, we’ll train and improve together."
Just then, Saphen led a group of Siren attendants in glorious ice armor to Da Fei: "Warrior, since this is your first time in Ice Song City, I’ll be your guide."
Da Fei smiled: "Alright, first, we’ll take some friends to the trade house to look at goods. I’ll let them see how this batch is doing." As he spoke, Da Fei pointed to the Beastman Three Heroes and Sona disembarking.
Saphen frowned at the sight of Sona: "And her?"
Da Fei laughed: "She’s my Naga guide. Later, we’ll discuss the peace agreement between the Naga Empire and our Siren clan. I’m sure everyone will be very pleased."
Saphen frowned: "Signing a peace agreement isn’t that simple."
Da Fei said with amazement: "The Naga have expressed that signing a peace agreement benefits them. Doesn’t that further benefit the Siren clan? We should be more welcoming from a weaker position."
Saphen shook her head stoically: "It’s not as simple as the warrior thinks."
Da Fei’s eyebrows jumped; indeed, as the Dark Tide Lord mentioned. Looks like it’s mostly Nether God meddling, Sirens are powerless to resist? In that case, the fate of this race is indeed tragic.
Da Fei shook his head: "Don’t worry, even if Gods intervene, I know some small Gods in the Nether Sea that might influence certain great Gods somewhat. Since this matter is complex, let’s discuss it later and do the trading first."
Saphen couldn’t help but be moved: "The warrior is right, let’s discuss the trade first." (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to vote recommendation ballots, monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian.com), your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please read on m.qidian.com)
