Chapter 1036 - 973: Meeting the Dark Tide Lord (Part 3)
At this moment, Sona, lying on the ground, suddenly turned to glance at Da Fei. Her eyes were blood red, and the hatred was evident! Da Fei’s heart skipped a beat!
The guide hero scolded angrily: "You are distracted in your repentance, kneel for three more days as punishment!"
Sona shuddered all over and had to kneel again.
Da Fei felt a tremor in his heart, suddenly feeling a bit uneasy in conscience. And the fact that this guide hero could casually punish a former leader of the Priest Group showed that his status was quite high.
So Da Fei couldn’t help but ask: "May I ask, what is your position?"
The guide hero replied indifferently: "I am the Guard Captain of the Dark Tide Lord and the Chief Steward of the temple, Hailong!"
Oh my gosh! This is definitely a trusted confidant of a demigod, right? Such a high honor, are they testing whether I will drink this toast or face punishment?
Now, under the captain’s guidance, Da Fei’s team entered the grand and ornately decorated great hall. In the center of the hall was a large circular fountain.
At this moment, a familiar laughter echoed in the hall again. A beam of light flashed from the fountain, and the figure of a Ten-Armed Naga emerged once more: "Warrior, I’ve been waiting for a long time. Welcome to the Dark Tide Temple from afar!"
Da Fei chuckled dryly: "My Lord is too kind."
The Dark Tide Lord laughed: "In the legends of human sailors, encountering a mermaid at sea brings good fortune. Encountering an ocean hermit grants wisdom, and meeting me, of course, will grant you abilities. I would like to give you a small gift, and I sincerely hope you will accept it. But rest assured, this gift comes with no strings attached and will not have any negative impact on you. Instead, it will greatly enhance your abilities. May I ask if you would like to accept it?"
Da Fei’s eyebrow twitched; offering benefits upfront, is this his strategy to win me over? However, if he compares himself to a mermaid hermit, then why not take the gift?
Still, Da Fei asked cautiously: "May I ask what the gift is?"
The Dark Tide Lord extended a hand with a slight smile: "An arm! I will give you an invisible arm. Because it is invisible, it has no impact on your appearance, but to you, it means one more ring equipment slot and one more weapon equipment slot. If you have two invisible arms, you will have an additional ring equipment slot, a weapon equipment slot, and a glove equipment slot. Of course, I can’t give you two arms; I can only give you one. What does the warrior think of this gift?"
Giving an arm? More equipment slots! At that moment, Da Fei was so shocked his jaw dropped!
Unbelievable! Truly unbelievable, that such a balance-breaking element exists in the game? Is this the advantage of the multi-armed Naga Clan?
Da Fei was astonished: "That means, a Naga Hero can hold six strategic weapons with six hands, and their hero attributes are six times that of a human?"
Hailong, standing beside him, laughed: "Though I wish that were so, unfortunately, strategic attributes do not stack. Duplicated attributes follow the highest value, which is the same principle as the Heroic Legion. Hence, the advantage of a Naga Hero lies in using equipment with different attributes to complement each other. This is the unmatched advantage our clan has to dominate the Sea Realm!"
Da Fei nodded repeatedly in shock: "Truly unmatched!" Oh my gosh, though strategic attributes do not stack, slightly limiting them, what if they are equipping Divine Artifacts? Divine Artifacts do not care about strategic attributes but special skills!
Therefore, Da Fei asked again: "If Captain Hailong, being such a hero, equips all six hands with Divine Artifacts possessing special skills, what then?"
Hailong laughed heartily: "As expected of a warrior with insight, my six arms are all equipped with Divine Artifacts bestowed by the Dark Tide Lord!"
—Pfft! Da Fei spat out a mouthful of old blood! This is just invincible! So, the legendary Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara actually exists! If we hadn’t encountered that unlucky priestess at the gate earlier and faced this Guard Captain instead, even if I were a god, I’d be smashed to death by his Divine Artifacts!
Now, Da Fei finally realized the vast gap between mere humans and the Naga—it’s like the bottom of the food chain compared to the top. Da Fei immediately understood the intention behind the Dark Tide Lord’s gift!
While it seems like a free gift, once you’ve tasted the benefits of the first hand, wouldn’t you crave a second? And to gain the second hand, you’d either join the Dark Tide Organization or convert your race to become an amphibious creature!
However, if I could actually wield six Divine Artifacts with six arms, the mere identity of a human, the trivial hold of a city or cricket, a Chamber of Commerce in the human world would be utterly insignificant! Da Fei finally understood why the Dark Tide Organization could recruit people!
At this moment, the Dark Tide Lord smiled: "Warrior, how is this gift?"
How can I refuse? This is a no-brainer; you jump even if you know it’s a pit! It’s just like when I jumped into the pyramid schemes crappit at the beginning! Humans are indeed foolish and greedy!
Da Fei, with tears streaming down his face, said: "Thank you for your generous gift, my Lord!"
The Dark Tide Lord laughed: "Courtesy begets courtesy. Besides, you’ve returned our Legion Token, somewhat restoring the temple’s honor."
Indeed good deeds are rewarded! So, I’ll do a good deed to the end. Da Fei nodded excitedly: "My Lord, actually this battle was a misunderstanding. The souls of the legion are with me; I can return them as well!"
The Dark Tide Lord laughed heartily: "All stored in your General Skira’s Seal, aren’t they? Warrior, it’s been delightful meeting you. Now, shall we proceed with the gift-giving ceremony?"
