Chapter 1037 - 974: Make Peace with the Sirens First
The ritual of presenting the gift began, and the Naga priests all started their spells, enveloping Da Fei in a radiant bubble of light.
A few minutes into the ritual, the Dark Tide Lord himself intervened, covering the bubble with a golden light, and then a system prompt chimed:
— System Prompt: You have received the "Invisible Dark Tide Hand" gifted by the Dark Tide Lord, gaining an extra strategic ring equipment slot and a strategic weapon equipment slot. (Note: The attributes of the Invisible Hand cannot stack with other slots)
The ritual succeeded and the bubble disappeared.
Seeing that he indeed had two additional equipment slots in his attribute bar, Da Fei was still in a dreamlike disbelief! Da Fei then attempted to equip his Titan’s Grasp and Multi-headed Snake Ring onto the Invisible Hand, and it was doable! Weapons and rings could both be equipped, and the attributes remained unchanged!
Then showing the equipment appearance, Titan’s Grasp was not displayed. This meant that weapons equipped on the Invisible Hand could not be shown or directly used to slash people, and could only be used to enhance attributes.
No matter what, this is awesome! It’s absolutely awesome! This extra hand is for equipping a Divine Artifact Staff to replenish my magic knowledge. As for the ring, there’s no doubt, Uriel’s Divine Artifact Contract Angel Ring’s attributes aren’t that great, so I’m just thinking of finding a ring with amazing attributes, haha, wahahaha!
At this moment, the Dark Tide Lord laughed and asked, "Warrior, how is this gift?"
At this moment, Da Fei finally snapped back to reality and accepted this pleasant truth: "Good! Very good, many thanks for the Lord’s generous gift."
The Dark Tide Lord laughed and asked, "Warrior, you’ve traversed a long and arduous journey to the Dark Tide Temple, but how much do you know about the Dark Tide Organization?"
Da Fei’s eyebrow twitched, finally getting to the serious business, huh!
Da Fei had no choice but to tell the truth: "Not much, it seems the Dark Tide is quite secretive and not very welcome by the Land Kingdoms. However, I’ve heard that the Lord is very generous to those who seek your aid."
The Dark Tide Lord sighed, "Our organization is unwelcome in the land world entirely due to the land world’s narrow-mindedness and extremism, especially the Church of Light, which labels any other race or sect as heretics and cultists for persecution. They don’t understand Ocean Creatures and think of themselves as superior while considering Ocean Creatures as inferior. But as you’ve seen, from a biological standpoint, the Naga Clan doesn’t fall short in terms of intelligence, strength, or lifespan compared to land races; wouldn’t you agree?"
Damn! The Great Bright God Sect is hit again!
Da Fei could only agree, "Exactly, I’ve long heard that the Naga Sword Saint’s martial skills are unparalleled. And considering the Dark Tide Hand gifted by the Lord, it’s an advantage that land races can’t touch. I personally think there’s a factor of fear towards the Naga Clan within the land world."
The Dark Tide Lord sighed, "It truly is a helpless situation. That’s why I’ve been committed to integrating the intelligent races of the land world into our Dark Tide Organization, enhancing mutual communication, understanding, and trust, to realize the integration of the land and ocean worlds..."
Here it comes, here it comes, the preaching! If I don’t handle this well, it could be quite troublesome!
As Da Fei’s mind raced, he heard the Dark Tide Lord’s tone lift, "And you, Warrior, are a person of great renown in the surface world, even famous in the Church of Light and the Light God Realm! I think, if someone of your caliber were to join our Dark Tide Organization, our plans for mutual understanding and trust with the land world could be greatly advanced! Warrior, would you consider joining our Dark Tide Organization?"
Nearby, Hailong immediately chimed in, "If you join our Dark Tide Organization, Warrior, you’ll get six arms, Divine Artifacts in all hands, and becoming a Sword Saint won’t just be a dream!"
— System Prompt: Dark Tide Lord Naputulon invites you to join the Dark Tide Organization, do you accept?
— System Prompt: After joining the Dark Tide Organization, you will gain all friendly trade rights with the Naga World, rights to learn hidden skills, and convert to the hidden Naga race. Simultaneously, once your affiliation with the Dark Tide Organization is exposed, you will become an enemy of both the Bright and Dark Alliances.
Damn it, a formal invitation is here, indeed it’s an organization for becoming a Naga! This is an organization worthy of opposing the entire world for a player! And to deal with this moment, I’ve been thinking for an hour, even while going to the bathroom! Now it’s time to test my cleverness!
Da Fei then cleared his throat, "In my view, the Lord’s ideals are very noble, and aspirations are very lofty. I express my deep admiration!"
Hailong joyously said, "Then you will join, Warrior? If you join, I can arrange for you to be the commander of the 4th regiment of the Temple Guard. Of course, you may act freely."
Damn it! They’re giving me back the Legion Token I handed over, it’s like leaving me with no reason to refuse!
But Da Fei could only painfully shake his head, "I haven’t yet made up my mind. I feel that there’s still a step the Lord hasn’t completed to gain the land world’s trust, and without completing this step, realizing the ideal is impossible."
The Dark Tide Lord asked curiously, "Which step?"
Da Fei solemnly replied, "To be honest, I came over here from the Siren Ice Song Clan and have gained a preliminary understanding of their current situation. I feel, if the Naga cannot establish mutual trust and communication with the similarly ocean-dwelling Siren Clan, then what talk is there of mutual trust and communication with the land world? If brothers can’t coexist amicably, how can one accommodate the world? In human terms, having a heart as broad as the sea is used to describe someone’s magnanimity, and as masters of the sea, the Naga Clan should have this capacity!"
Here it is, this is my ultimate move! Since meeting the highest leader, it’s time to play the top-tier high-end route! If this works, I’ll achieve peaceful coexistence between the Sirens and Nagas, and my reputation within both clans will surely reach its peak. If I can achieve this step, whether or not I join the Dark Tide, I still gain.
Upon hearing these words, the Dark Tide Lord was stunned on the spot!
Da Fei felt a burst of anxiety and tension within. Da Fei certainly understood that the so-called mutual trust and communication ideal was just a cover for this hierarch’s domination ambitions. But when you talk ideals with me, I talk benefits with you. When you talk benefits, I talk ideals back! I’m not going to follow your script anyway.
Head of Affairs Hailong was shockingly saying, "Warrior, those Siren Sea Demons are lunatics, they only hold grudges and don’t forget kindness. You strike them once, and they hate you for a hundred or a thousand years, then they bear inner injuries to themselves, turning into things neither living nor undead, it’s impossible to communicate with them!"
Damn it! So the Sirens are like that?
Da Fei could only sigh, "But you have me! I can cross over, start discussions and talks slowly! The key is that your Naga Clan must show sincerity, to cease fighting and reconcile with them! Although the Siren Clan is small, they can’t be annihilated, and just based on that, they deserve a proper regard from the Naga Clan. In conclusion, I feel that solving this issue first is what I should consider before joining the Dark Tide Organization, don’t you think, Lord?"
Finally, the Dark Tide Lord spoke in a muffled tone, "The Warrior’s words are reasonable, reconciliation with the Sirens does align with our Naga Clan’s interests. I can propose a suggestion to the Naga Emperor, but before that, the Warrior needs to obtain their active negotiation consent. However, the Sirens dare to oppose the Sea God, they have the support of the Nether God, which makes this a complicated affair. Since the Warrior has this thought, there’s no reason I should not let the Warrior give it a try."
— System Prompt: You have received the Naga Merit Quest "Reconcile with the Siren Clan"!
— Task Hint: You need to obtain the Siren Clan’s active negotiation request. Racial reconciliation requires comprehensive realization through diplomatic agreements, trade reciprocity, alliance mutual aid, and other areas. This task has no time limit.
A quest actually appeared! This system is indeed intelligent! However, it seems this quest is a bit tricky? For a moment, Da Fei was dumbfounded and didn’t know if he gained or lost.
Thus Da Fei could only say, "I will give it my all."
The Dark Tide Lord nodded, "The time of my audience is ending, should you change your mind, the temple always welcomes your joining. While I’m absent, if the Warrior has anything, just contact Hailong directly. By the way, you’re here to ransom someone, right? Let Hailong handle it then! Well, Warrior, welcome for your next visit!"
With these words, amidst the kneeling of all the Naga Guards and Priests, the light and shadow disappeared. (To be continued.
