Chapter 1034 - 973: Meeting the Dark Tide Lord
As laughter resounded from above the clouds, thousands of rays of sunlight broke through, casting a golden light across the sea, and the raging winds and waves quickly subsided.
At this moment, all the Naga Army immediately prostrated themselves on the ray’s back in worship. Da Fei knew, it must be the true master, the Dark Tide Lord, who had arrived. With such an amazing aura and presence, he was beyond being called a demigod and could be referred to as a god. According to the usual game convention, a god wouldn’t show itself directly to mortals; it’s usually just an avatar, or not even that, just an image at most.
If the figure appearing before Da Fei now was just an image, then this act of showing off was really over the top, a pointless waste of server resources and electricity.
At that moment, a huge blue pillar of light descended from the sky, and inside was a massive figure — not with eight arms, but a Ten-Armed Naga! It truly was an image!
The entire army couldn’t help but gasp, awestruck by the power. Xiluo and the three fishermen knelt on the spot.
Damn, what a showoff! You scared me!
At this moment, a majestic voice echoed across the sea and sky: "I am Naputulon, Dark Tide Lord, deputy of the Sea God, and leader of the Dark Tide Organization. Warrior, the fact that you have completely annihilated my Divine Warrior army shows your strength has surpassed that of mere mortals, and your lack of fear in the face of my army’s might proves you are a truly brave warrior. I admire you greatly, so it is necessary to meet you personally. I now permit you to enter the Dark Tide Temple, where we shall talk further."
With those words, the pillar of light disappeared, the image vanished, and the dense clouds scattered with the wind, while the densely packed Temple Army in front also vanished with the waves.
In the next instant, the sky was wide and blue, with gentle winds and a bright sun.
Da Fei stood there, stunned for a long time, unable to snap back to reality. The scene had changed too quickly! My mood couldn’t possibly keep up with this pace! Just then, the System Prompt dinged with a chime!
— System Prompt: Congratulations! You have perfectly passed the trial of the Dark Tide Sea, gaining 3 million Experience points. You have also successfully gained the admiration of the Dark Tide Lord, earning the Achievement "Dark Tide Lord’s Appreciation." All heroes’ Command Power +100, Life +100, Stamina +10, army Life +10%, Stamina +10%, Morale +1, and your reputation in the Naga World +10,000.
At this moment, the whole army erupted in thunderous cheers!
Da Fei finally let out a big sigh of relief. After the storm comes the rainbow, life truly is like the waves of the sea!
At this moment, Xiluo jumped up, tears streaming down his face, and said excitedly: "Boss! You’ve made it! The Dark Tide Lord has recognized you! Whatever request you have, he will probably agree to it!"
At this moment, the three fishermen immediately stepped forward, saying: "President, the Dark Tide Lord is probably going to talk to you about joining the Dark Tide Organization. Please be prepared to respond."
Damn! Back when that Skira avatar personally invited me to join the Sea God Temple, I didn’t agree. Can’t you just stop trying to make me join strange organizations?
Da Fei said with a wry smile: "Do I have to join? This Dark Tide Organization is classified as a cult by the Alliance, right?"
The three fishermen said solemnly: "That depends on your choice, President. But since you’ve annihilated one of their armies, you should make some gesture, like doing something for the Dark Tide Lord."
Da Fei nodded: "I’ll think about it." Think my ass, I only need to maintain the current multilateral trading relationship with the Naga and Siren for profit and resale, no need to get into unnecessary trouble.
The three fishermen continued: "Also, since the Dark Tide Lord’s attitude towards you has changed, we can renegotiate terms around the ransom and maybe even resolve it by working for the Dark Tide Lord instead of paying."
Da Fei suddenly grew excited: "Great, now I can keep those twenty-odd Fire-spitting Cannons!"
Though at my level, I might not even care about those cannons. But since they could be limited editions, it’s best to keep them if possible; they could work wonders on some battlefields.
Now, the fleet is heading towards the golden temple on the horizon, and Da Fei, finally catching his breath, chose to order takeout quickly.
Just then, another System Prompt dinged and popped out:
— System Prompt: Your Flying’s Lilim Camp has successfully recruited a Lilim soul. Please check the recruitment.
Da Fei’s eyebrow twitched! Damn, another one? This, this, this, the Red Name Village setup is no small thing! The Phoenix Feather’s power is incredible, isn’t it?
This is a headache now. My Sea Soul Staff is already stuffed, lagging behind in developing new troops. How can I live up to the Phoenix Feather working so hard?
Wait, the reason divine warriors are divine is due to their immortality; they only revitalize after death through the Dark Tide Lord. They’re not reviving now because their souls are held by my Sea Soul Staff. What do I need all these souls for? Why not use them as bargaining chips in negotiations with the Dark Tide Lord and, in the process, improve my relationship with him?
After all, appreciation is one thing, but there’s always a thorn in his heart, right? Now his politeness is only because he wants to invite me to join his organization. As for how to return the souls, that’s a bit tricky. But the Angel Leader did say the Sea Soul Staff is a Sea God’s Divine Level Fragment, given to the Sea General as an Authority Seal. Surely, as the Sea God’s deputy, the Dark Tide Lord has a way to extract the souls?
Yes, let’s try this! This is called borrowing his flowers to honor his Buddha! I offer nothing, haha! Now the important thing is how to decline his invitation; that requires careful consideration and deliberation.
