This speculation made Ron feel both excited and wary.
"Life and death are just two sides of the same coin, the Life Tree School understands this better than anyone else..."
Ron recalled the description of necromancy in the Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide.
Those theories about the "Principle of Life and Death Transformation" and the "Hypothesis of Memory Materialization" have a striking similarity to Sheena’s plant network technology.
"If my speculation is correct, then Sheena’s performance tonight is not simply about trying to corrupt me..."
She might be testing his acceptance of necromancy knowledge in preparation for deeper "collaboration" later.
This realization gave Ron a clearer strategy for the upcoming interactions.
If she truly possesses the lost necromancy technology, then her threat level needs to be elevated by at least one tier.
Moreover, the extensive influence of the Life Tree School in the Quicksand Lands also provides a perfect cover for such secret research.
"It seems today’s escape plan must be more urgent."
He began formulating a more detailed escape strategy in his mind.
......
The first rays of morning sunshine had just touched the Vitality Spring when Ron intentionally activated the communication device in the room.
He wanted to make Sheena understand before she acted that he was not a lone wanderer without support.
The first contact was Cassandra, far away at the Otherworld front line.
When the Witch’s slightly tired projection appeared in the room, Ron immediately noticed the hidden manic emotion in her eyes.
"Ron? What urgent business do you have contacting me so early?"
Cassandra’s tone was still gentle, but the impatience was clearly evident.
"Tower Master, I just wanted to report on the travel itinerary."
Ron feigned a respectful attitude:
"The academic exchange at the Sand Sea School has been more rewarding than expected. I might need to extend my stay by another week beyond the original half-month exchange period."
"Another week?"
Cassandra raised her eyebrows, a trace of dissatisfaction flashed in her purple eyes:
"Ron, I hope you haven’t forgotten the project we discussed earlier. The technical team has been waiting for your further guidance."
Her words were indirect, but the threat was obvious.
"Of course, I haven’t forgotten, Tower Master."
Ron quickly assured:
"It’s precisely because this exchange involves some related technology that I’d like to gain a deeper understanding. This knowledge is valuable for our project."
Cassandra thought for a moment, her dissatisfaction slightly eased:
"In that case, I’ll give you another ten days. But remember, the project’s progress must not be affected."
"Additionally..."
Her tone became more serious:
"The situation in the Quicksand Lands is quite complicated, with tangled influences from various factions. If you encounter any trouble, contact me immediately."
Her words were concise, but Ron could feel the implicit concern.
Despite Cassandra’s ruthless methods, she still cared deeply about the safety of her "partner."
"Understood, Tower Master. I will be careful."
After ending the communication, Ron immediately contacted the second target—Professor Yutel of the Abyssal Observation Station.
The old professor’s projection appeared with a benevolent smile on his face:
"Ron, awake so early? How are you adapting to life in the Quicksand Lands?"
That heartfelt care formed a stark contrast with Cassandra’s opportunistic attitude.
"Of course, Professor. The academic atmosphere here is indeed rich, I’ve learned many valuable things."
Ron’s tone became more sincere:
"Is there anything urgent at the observation station that requires attention?"
"No, no."
Yutel waved his hand:
"I’ve almost prepared the materials for the Historian’s transfer, you can start anytime when you return."
The old professor said with a certain deep meaning in his eyes:
"However, the waters in the Quicksand Lands run deep.
Sometimes, the research directions of those ancient schools involve... controversial areas."
"If you encounter anything that makes you uncomfortable, remember, leaving is always the wisest choice."
"I’ll remember your words, Professor."
Ron nodded in respect, feeling deeply warmed by the old professor’s concern.
The last contact was the Great Wizard Weinard.
When this fiery-tempered mechanical expert appeared in the communication, the background was a busy Otherworld workshop.
"Ron! You rascal finally remembered to contact me!"
Weinard’s voice boomed like thunder:
"Is it true you’ve broken through to the Moon Level? That’s excellent! Come over here to help immediately!"
"Great Wizard Weinard, I might still need half a year..."
"Need what? You need nothing!"
Weinard abruptly interrupted him:
"I have a particularly large project at a critical stage here, and I’m missing someone exactly like you! You must be here within three months!"
"But I still have some things here at the Sand Sea School..."
"Sand Sea School?"
Weinard’s tone suddenly turned dangerous:
"Are you talking about those perverts from the Life Tree School? Ron, leave there immediately!"
"The things those guys are researching aren’t something any normal person should be dealing with!
Especially that lunatic Ash, her experiments have long exceeded ethical boundaries!"
This direct warning was more explicit than the previous implicit reminders.
Weinard obviously had a profound understanding of the true situation within the Life Tree School.
"I’ll be careful, Great Wizard."
Ron accepted outwardly, but internally, he became even more certain of his speculation.
"Within three months, I’ll definitely report to you."
