Ron stared at the strange scene in the courtyard, and a rather absurd thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
He remembered Sheena’s expression when she affectionately introduced these plants earlier—"They’re all my children."
And now, this "loving mother" was engaging in the most primitive union with her "flesh and blood offspring."
"What is this? A mother and her self-created child..."
This thought struck like lightning, piercing through the seductive mental fog.
In that instant, Ron’s rationality regained the upper hand.
"Is this biological self-reproduction, or an ethical... family ethics showdown?"
"Purely scientifically, asexual reproduction is normal in the plant world. Ferns replicate through spores, vines expand territory through rhizomes..."
He described the earlier ritual in his mind with the most dry biological terminology:
"What Mrs. Sheena is conducting might just be an advanced form of ’nutrient reproduction.’ By fusing with her cultivated organisms, achieving direct genetic information exchange and optimization..."
This deliberate academic interpretation turned the originally unsettling scene into something comical.
"Or from another angle, isn’t this more like a gardener fertilizing her beloved potted plants?"
"Only that the fertilizer isn’t ordinary, but her own... life essence?"
He imagined narrating the scene in a completely objective tone:
"What we are witnessing now is a researcher from the Life Tree School engaging in the 1847th symbiotic experiment with the BT-047 flesh vine.
The experiment aims to verify the feasibility of human-plant hybridization, with expected results including life extension, enhanced disease resistance, and..."
The more he described it with this absurd academic tone, the more the effect of spiritual erosion was diluted.
The images originally full of temptation and depravity turned into a form of surreal performance art in this deconstructive mental exercise.
"Scholars of the Life Tree School indeed have unique insights on ’cross-species friendships’..."
Ron continued this darkly humorous monologue in his mind:
"No wonder they’re called ’friends of life,’ this friendship is certainly more... profound than most would imagine."
When the spiritual threat was transformed into intellectual entertainment, its danger was completely dispelled.
Ron suddenly recalled those reminders from the King of Absurdity.
This world needs absurdity and jokes; madness and rationality aren’t absolute opposites.
Now, he suddenly felt a strong sense of agreement with that entity’s philosophy.
Because he was presently employing this playful approach.
Using a black-humor perspective to completely deconstruct the spiritual contamination he just witnessed.
"In the end, it’s just a biological modification experiment, only the aesthetic values of the participants are rather... unique."
Ron continued to analyze the situation in front of him with this absurd logic:
"Mrs. Sheena is obviously a very dedicated scholar, willing to use her own body as experimental material to advance the development of life science."
"As for those tentacles and various biological organs, they’re merely her newly developed medical devices.
Though admittedly their appearance is somewhat... avant-garde, the scientific spirit remains commendable."
"And those female apprentices participating in the ritual are clearly undergoing some unconventional biology curriculum.
Though the teaching method is somewhat unique, imparting knowledge always requires practice."
In this world where knowledge and power are supreme.
Any action can be rationalized with "academic research" and "strength enhancement."
"Absurdity, indeed, is reason’s best partner."
Ron marveled at the profound wisdom of the King of Absurdity in his heart:
"When reality becomes too heavy and twisted, examining it from an absurd perspective actually helps reveal the essence of things."
"Although Sheena’s theory sounds esoteric, ultimately, it merely uses complex packaging to mask simple desires.
The desire for power, the obsession with breaking boundaries, and the ambition to control others."
Through this psychological defense mechanism, Ron successfully liberated himself from the influence of spiritual erosion.
Those once highly tempting and depraved airs lost all their menace under an absurd reading.
......
Once fully recovered from the impact of the ritual, Ron began deeper contemplation.
He associated it with the history of the Life Tree School.
Before the "Eternal Plague" incident, the school was renowned for its two pillars—"Life Science" and "Necromancy."
The plague’s origin was directly traced to the uncontrolled research in Necromancy, leading to a complete ban on necromancy.
Those involved in research were either executed or exiled to desolate corners of the Otherworld.
But Ron raised a question in his mind:
"Would a school that once developed both disciplines to their peak really abandon half its heritage due to a ban?"
He recalled the various details he observed earlier:
The construction method of those flesh vines showed significant differences from conventional life modification technologies.
Especially the technology that fused death tissues with living plants, clearly exceeding the pure life science realm.
"Perhaps, they didn’t abandon but simply camouflaged and merged necromancy achievements into the guise of ’life art’."
