All along, he hadn’t seriously climbed the Deceit Tower. After returning from that climb, he began developing the Xishu Divine Teaching.
He felt that he could also contribute power within the bunker...
But now, Wen Xiangge suddenly felt, why not climb the Desire Tower?
Why not learn more about the world outside the bunker?
The old principal and sect hierarch must both long to lead humanity back to their own world.
So what should I do then?
Inside the bunker, the Xishu Divine Teaching is almost saturated, and I accomplish nothing all day. If I can’t develop new members here, aren’t I just basking in past glories?
Wen Xiangge looked at Almi, eyes blazing.
Almi was a bit confused:
"Great Elder, why... are you looking at me like that?"
Wen Xiangge pressed Almi’s shoulder:
"Thank you! Almi, I’ve discovered a new meaning in my life!"
"I kept thinking about how I could serve the Xishu Divine Teaching more. What exactly should I do to save more people with it?"
"What can’t be done inside the bunker should be done outside!"
"Indeed, I was narrow-minded. So many people in the world are waiting for our Xishu Divine Teaching to save them. Why be confined to the bunker?"
"No matter where they come from, I should accept them! Let them know there’s a safe haven like the Xishu Divine Teaching in this world!"
"Almi, you have inspired me! I’ve realized!"
Wen Xiangge excitedly grasped Almi’s hands again.
At this moment, Almi indeed saw the sincerity in the other’s eyes.
It was a burning desire to save more people, finally having found a way!
He suddenly thought, if Hunter City weren’t ruled by the mysterious "Commerce Association," but by the Xishu Divine Teaching...
How wonderful would that be?
This was Almi’s first day in the bunker.
On the second day, Almi received an invitation from Wen Xiangge, saying that Almi was very young and had unlimited potential. While everyone was equal in the bunker, those with ability should go to institutions with greater power to do more for more people.
Thus, Wen Xiangge hoped to write a recommendation letter for Almi, allowing him to study further at Three Towers Academy.
On Almi’s second day, he toured the Three Towers Academy, saw the mysterious Deceit Tower Academy, and met countless powerful people from Slaughter Tower Academy.
Many of them were also members of the Xishu Divine Teaching. Almi could imagine that if these people were in Hunter City, they would surely be elite.
Almi also visited some facilities at the Deceit Tower Academy, experiencing a sense of terror.
Upon learning that the monsters in the Deceit Tower Academy’s Memory Record were all defeated by Master Wen...
He reveres this Master Wen as a god-like figure. Maybe someone like him could defeat the hidden powers behind the Hunter City Commerce Association?
On the third day, Almi thought about meeting Wen Xiangge alone, finding an opportunity to assassinate him.
This was his initial thought, but deep down, many of his thoughts had quietly changed.
Indeed, on this day, he found an opportunity to assassinate Wen Xiangge.
At Wen Xiangge’s residence, Almi went to visit, unafraid of being recognized along the way.
If he could just kill Wen Xiangge and lock the room door, by the time he was summoned back to Hunter City, he would disappear from everyone’s memory in the bunker.
Why not?
But when he saw Wen Xiangge wearing glasses, frowning at a pile of documents, he couldn’t help but ask:
"Elder, what’s troubling you?"
Wen Xiangge said:
"I’m studying the strategy for the Desire Tower. I just feel that too many people outside are living in dire straits."
"This is Master Wen’s intel on the Desire Tower. It records many scenes of life under apocalyptic conditions in the Desire Tower."
"Look, there are too many places that need us. I just deeply feel my own incompetence, having wasted too much time. Now, nearing forty, I don’t know how much more I can contribute to the Xishu Divine Teaching."
"The hierarch mentions in the strategy— in cities of the apocalyptic world, the more ordered the places, the more dangerous they might be; the people there are bound by special rules, living extremely distorted and difficult lives."
"I long to rescue the people in these cities, but my strength is too insignificant."
"Unlike the hierarch, I can only unite many weak people like myself to form strength, unable to independently change the world as the hierarch does."
"But even I don’t have that kind of power."
Almi was shocked.
Hunter City is just such a place.
The people in Hunter City live very distorted lives, everything is labeled; in Hunter City, everything is a resource, including people.
Hunter City is governed by the "Commerce Association," a city where everything is a commodity.
If Hunter City had the Xishu Divine Teaching...
Almi thought of this possibility again.
He initially intended to kill Wen Xiangge, but ultimately, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
"Maybe the future is unchangeable..."
Almi suddenly thought so.
In the timeline of the Hunter City where he was, Wen Xiangge was already a major figure.
A person continuously attracting believers, possessing Sequence Power.
The mission briefing mentioned that Wen Xiangge’s personal experience led to attracting a certain sequence.
If I propel Wen Xiangge instead of assassinating him... wouldn’t the future be better?
This idea seemed to have some magic, or perhaps Wen Xiangge himself seemed to have some magic that made it difficult for Almi to act.
"Wait a little longer, there’s still time."
Almi failed the assassination.

The fourth day, the fifth day...
