Wen Xishu’s heart skipped a beat, could it be that 001 has already found a way to kill him?
Logically speaking, after escaping the attack range of most teams, he would only be terminated by the chessboard, but now, he is still alive.
Wen Xishu pretended to remain calm:
"Speak."
said to Wen Xishu:
"My universe is fake, all universes, except the one you are in, are fake."
What?
Wen Xishu was shocked by this sudden statement.
It felt as though an enemy declared victory only to suddenly say they surrender.
He looked at 001 in disbelief.
said:
"Fortunately, I am you, or rather... this test is a test for you."
Wen Xishu was still a bit stunned.
The other Wen Xishus were still fighting for life and death, but at this moment, 001 had already seen through the truth of the entire game.
"Admitting this is extremely difficult. This game is not really a test of you; for you, perhaps you just need to no longer be confused."
Indeed, before killing 045, Wen Xishu was briefly confused, but soon he saw through the situation clearly.
His mindset changed slightly, no longer confused as before.
But for 001, after ceasing to be confused, there was an even harder challenge.
"I also thought, I can’t avoid this, I should not be confused, I should kill you."
"We’ve both been through that stage. But that pessimist, that drunk, do you still remember him? Known to most as the first person to die by his own hands, he’s actually... a Wise."
Wen Xishu was startled, he remembered the meaningful look in the drunk’s eyes.
Yet he didn’t expect the drunk actually had a plan.
"He died by my hand, yet it was because his world was a completely hopeless world, a world with no way forward."
"So he handed the Eye of Tragedy to me."
"This allowed me to see the ending of the world I was in, and this ending was almost identical to my deductions, indeed, I saw no way out."
Wen Xishu seemed to understand.
045’s world was a world without a chess game, but that is where the deception lies, if one feels it’s beautiful and sacrifices oneself, the world could be invaded at any moment.
The drunk’s world was a world where the chess game had reached its end, already a dead end.
001’s world, on the contrary, seemed to have a path, but when pushed to the limit, one would eventually find it only leads to a dead end.
was somewhat aware but always held onto hope, and thus the drunk gifted him the Eye of Tragedy. It wasn’t necessarily to help himself, even if the drunk cast a meaningful glance his way, perhaps he just saw the eventual showdown between himself and 001.
But in any case, once he had the Eye of Tragedy, 001 was thoroughly convinced of the tragedy of his world.
He began searching for a way to break the deadlock.
But he never found one.
No longer confused, staunchly believing I am the only real me, in this situation, it is the most painful.
Especially when he discovered there was only one final answer.
The less confused, the harder it was to accept.
So Wen Xishu was puzzled:
"What have you experienced? Why has your attitude changed so much?"
said:
"I witnessed a miracle that shouldn’t happen in my world."
Wen Xishu was even more puzzled:
"Not to mention the miracle, just because of that, you think your world is fake?"
nodded:
"Before this miracle, even if my world would be destroyed, even if my deductions led only to a dead end, I still believed I had to survive, I had to kill you."
"But until this miracle happened, I realized my world is fake. After a second interaction with Albert, I finally confirmed this point."
Does this involve the old principal too?
Wen Xishu didn’t know how many were involved to ensure he survived this time.
But he would only learn all about it after returning to the Bunker.
"Albert will tell you all about it. After meeting him a second time, I learned many things from him."
"These things revealed numerous unreasonable parts of my growth trajectory, although in my memory, they seemed perfectly reasonable."
"But upon deeper investigation, some parts seem deliberately altered by some mysterious force. One misstep leads to another."
"It’s as if there’s a hand forcibly shaping me into what I am now."
sighed:
"So I am not confused again, Wen Xishu, I’ve never been confused, I’ve experienced more than you, but after realizing my world is fake, that I am the ’clone’, what else can I do?"
"The survival instinct did make me consider killing you, killing you would have been too easy, my power is enough to massacre everyone."
"But... that is not the right thing to do."
Wen Xishu truly didn’t expect such a wonderful twist.
He also didn’t know what kind of perilous scenario he just went through. He only marveled that the old principal saved him from the Bunker across endless time and space.
seemed to notice Wen Xishu’s thoughts and corrected him:
"I must remind you, it’s not just Albert’s doing. This journey in the Deceit Tower, in fact, is possibly the most perilous test you’ve faced. Your survival depends entirely on the past."
"My failure, too, is because of the past."
"Now I can be sure, there is no multiverse, everything is a simulation by the Deceit Tower. All the various ’us’ you see are fake."
"The Deceit Tower can accommodate the existence of the Obsession World, achieving such is not difficult. Every obsession in the Deceit Tower can even be regarded as true life."
