Lin Daying was somewhat horrified: "It’s true! So the Emperor knew about your existence early on and also knew that I come from a different world? Then, then, then the Emperor still treats me so well?" Lin Daying was stunned, glancing complexly at the Emperor sitting above her. After accepting this fact, she felt more moved in her heart. The Emperor knew very well she was an anomaly, yet he still treated her so well? Moreover, none of the other concubines with systems were pregnant, and only she was. Does that mean the Emperor indeed has some genuine feelings for her?
"There might be a master behind the Emperor. Sigh, in the future, I should just keep a low profile as a system." The system sighed.
"You don’t have a tail." Lin Daying snorted.
"Don’t mind those details." The system retorted unhappily.
...
Lin Daying thought about it and chose to be honest with the Emperor one night when he came to her place.
"Oh, now you’re willing to tell me?" The Emperor raised an eyebrow, half-smiling, half-not.
"Please forgive me, Your Majesty." Lin Daying was about to kneel down.
"Stand up, it’s fine, talk to me properly about your world." The Emperor waved his hand, then patted the bed next to him.
Lin Daying walked over, sat beside the Emperor, and began to recount the world she originally came from.
"I see... It’s late, let’s talk another day. You’re also pregnant, you should pay more attention to resting." Lin Daying had talked until her mouth was dry, and the Emperor stopped her from speaking further, urging her to drink water and rest early.
Lin Daying felt a bit melancholic inside. Coming to this world was against her will, becoming the Emperor’s concubine was against her will, and competing with so many women for one man was even more against her will. But this world had such a system, unlike the world she originally came from. She could only accept and integrate, thinking this life would wither away in the deep palace, yet unexpectedly, she felt warmth from the Emperor. She felt warmth from the most unlikely person.
"Alright, what are you thinking about again, rest early." The Emperor looked at Lin Daying’s reddened eyes, knowing she was feeling sentimental again, and spoke to console her.
"By the way, Your Majesty, my system said there are others with systems too. Their initial purpose was to seize your fortune. My system has already turned from evil to good and has no such thought anymore. But I don’t know about the other systems, Your Majesty must be careful." Although Lin Daying knew the Emperor should know about the existence of other systems, she still reminded him a few words out of worry. Whether it was because of the Emperor’s kindness to her or because the Emperor was the father of the child in her womb, she didn’t want anything to happen to the Emperor.
"I know, don’t worry. You just take care of yourself. If something happens and I am not there, find the Empress Dowager." The Emperor nodded, looking at the deep worry in Lin Daying’s eyes, feeling comforted in his heart.
Lin Daying nodded vigorously.
...
At this moment, Concubine Shu was in her palace, venting her anger at the shattered porcelain pieces on the floor and the palace attendants kneeling everywhere. In what way was she inferior to those few low-borns? Let’s not mention Concubine Rong, Concubine Mei, and the Empress. That An Guiren was as fat as a pig, only knowing to eat all day. That ignorant fool Lin Daying was actually pregnant with the dragon heir, and the Emperor frequently visited her.
Why, why indeed!
Concubine Shu’s beautiful face was twisted with rage.
Pregnant, is she? Whether she can give birth is another matter entirely!
