He had a new body, just like the one he had when he was alive.
He reached out in amazement to look at his hand, then patted his face to confirm that he truly had a body and was really alive!
Qu Liufeng at this moment recalled the words Tianmiao said to them in the airship.
"Then, I will fulfill your wishes."
His wish was indeed to change this world, but he had another wish. That was to taste delicious food again; he was a typical foodie, after all. But without a body, he hadn’t tasted anything delicious for a long time. Last time, he saw God eating hot pot and drinking drinks in God’s shop, making him crave it immensely.
He knew there would be no chance to eat good food in the future, so he always just watched others eat, but the more he watched, the more he craved.
He didn’t expect that this wish was known by God, and God now fulfilled his wish, allowing him to taste gourmet food once more.
Ah, God, thank you, thank you so much!
When the Empire fell, Kong Hou felt her power returning!
But she didn’t immediately return to the Store of All Things. Instead, she asked Tianmiao for leave, requesting to stay a little longer, and Tianmiao naturally agreed.
Li Jiali was amazed by the fall of the Empire, standing in shock outside the door, watching people coming and going, all discussing this event. What was even more astonishing was that the sunlight was gradually breaking through the clouds. People in the Swamp District had never seen sunlight, but it didn’t affect their knowledge that this was a good phenomenon. Because the sunlight felt warm on their skin, dispersing the heavy clouds in the sky.
At this moment, Kong Hou, with her round little waist, swaggered over to Li Jiali’s side: "Jiali, do you have any wishes? I’ll fulfill them for you."
Li Jiali looked down at Kong Hou standing beside her. She squatted down with a smile, patting Kong Hou’s little head: "My wish is that little Kong Hou will always be happy and joyful."
Kong Hou: "..." This silly human!
"I can help you find your daughter and husband!" Little Kong Hou said proudly, placing her hands on her hips, chin held high, "I’m serious."
The smile on Li Jiali’s face disappeared. She looked at little Kong Hou in a daze, touched her head again, then hugged her tight, whispering, "Don’t, give me hope... only to..." By the end, her voice was choked with emotion.
She had already experienced loss once and couldn’t bear to endure the feeling of hope collapsing again.
"I’m not joking with you. Just wait." After Kong Hou finished speaking, she vanished instantly from Li Jiali’s embrace.
Li Jiali found herself holding the air, staring blankly at her empty arms.
Kong Hou had just disappeared?!
Vanished right there in her arms?
In the next moment, a person appeared in her arms.
A presence that made her doubt her own eyes.
"Mom?" The little figure in her arms, pale and skinny, rubbed her eyes, seemingly unable to believe her eyes, and tentatively called out these two words.
Li Jiali’s tears flowed instantly as she hugged her daughter tightly in her arms. She always thought she would never see her daughter again in this lifetime. But now, she was here, in her own embrace.
"Jiali? What’s going on? Where is this? Am I dreaming?" A man’s voice sounded from behind, muttering incredulously as he looked at Li Jiali.
