The King put his hand to his head as hundreds of thoughts ran through his mind, but at the end, he let out a long sigh and spoke in a defeated tone:
"Recall the troops."
"M-My king?"
One of the generals turned to the king in shock when he heard the order, and the king turned to him with a glare!
"I said, recall those fucking soldiers right now! Didn’t you just see what I saw!? We don’t stand a chance against him! Recall them right now!"
The soldier stumbled back in shock when he heard the anger in the King’s voice, and no one dared to say anything in response as the soldier ran out to send the message to the troops!
....
Jason walked calmly over the flooded forest outside the Honduran kingdom. Jason had already stopped the rain in this region, and the water level was starting to drop, but Jason knew it would take a long time for this world to recover what they lost in the past few years.
Jason really didn’t support what had been done here. Even though Jason wasn’t the overlord when the witch massacres were happening, Jason knew that it could have been stopped easily if Rubik had just taken his head out of his ass and done something for the worlds in his domain. The people in this world weren’t that strong, and even a single rank III TITAN would’ve been able to take over every single person here and force them to stop the witch massacres. But that hadn’t happened, and that was the reason why it escalated so much.
But even though Jason felt bad for the witch, there was no way he could allow her to murder everyone in this world just to make her feel better. That would be stupid, and also bad for business. As an overlord, these were the sort of choices Jason had to make for the sake of his domain! Jason waved his hand and sent out a wave of Qi that washed over a group of mind-controlled Hondurans that were wading through the water to try and reach Jason! The moment the Qi washed over them, all the Hondurans immediately slumped as they passed out, and Jason’s subordinate arrived and caught the Hondurans to make sure they didn’t drown.
After a few more minutes of walking, Jason finally reached the other side of the forest, and he was greeted by the sight of a massive wall built around the forest outskirts! There were many Honduran Witch Slayers standing on Jason’s side of the massive wall, and they were using massive catapults and arrow shooters to shoot flaming balls and arrows at the large horde of mind-controlled people who were running at them!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Massive explosions rang through the air every time a fireball hit its target, and the catapults created massive craters in the ground whenever they landed! But no matter how many enemies they killed or how many mindless beasts were destroyed, it was as if the supply of mindless beasts was just unlimited! The pests simply kept coming, and Jason let out a breath as he wondered how many people had been killed in this way by this pointless war!
In just the past few seconds, Jason had seen close to twenty people getting killed, so Jason was sure that the Witch had sent millions to their death already! Jason shook his head as he continued walking forward without a care in the world. Jason passed multiple soldiers who all turned to look at him with shocked looks on their faces, and the soldiers were even more shocked when Jason crossed the barricade and began moving through the sea of mind-controlled people!
Once Jason appeared, all the mind-controlled Hondurans immediately changed direction and charged straight at him, but Jason just sent out a pulse of his Qi, and all the Hondurans close to him were immediately put to sleep! The Hondurans fell to the floor like puppets that had their strings cut, and Jason continued sending out pulses of Qi as more and more of the Hondurans were knocked unconscious! The soldiers behind Jason couldn’t help but watch the spectacle with sheer disbelief on their faces! These soldiers were the frontline who had been holding this line and preventing the witch from sending her army through the forest for a long time now, and they had all been afraid of the endless horde of enemies since it looked like they would eventually be overwhelmed. But Jason wasn’t even moving a single finger, and for some reason, all the enemies were simply passing out!
"Who is that man?"
"I don’t know, but I felt some magic power when he passed us earlier. He’s stronger than anyone I know."
"He isn’t just strong, sir. The magic power I felt flowing from that man is probably enough to destroy this entire world if he wanted to. I think it’s best we don’t antagonize him."
"But how can a man use magic?"
"Sir! There’s an important message for the royal palace!"
The General in charge of this Witch Slayer battalion turned to the left to see a man holding a falcon on his forearm. The falcon had a message tied to its back, and the man took the message and read it quickly! The longer the man read, the wider his eyes got, until he was looking at the message with an expression of utter disbelief painted on his face!
"Sir, what does it say?"
One of the army lieutenants stepped forward and asked this, and the general responded in a shocked voice.
"It’s from the king. We’ve been ordered to withdraw our forces."
The lieutenant was shocked!
"What? But sir, we’re right at the edge of the witch’s territory! If we withdraw from here, then the witch will have free access to enter the towns behind us!"
"And we’ve been given an opportunity by this strange man! All the witch’s minions are knocked out. Shouldn’t we use this opportunity to make our way into the witch’s lair and kill her once and for all!"
Another lieutenant stepped forward and spoke with a frown, and the General squeezed his hand into a fist as he saw the sense in what they were saying! This mysterious man had given them a once-in-a-lifetime advantage against the witch, and the general knew that a chance like this might never come again, but at the same time, the general knew that there was no way the King would ask them to retreat unless something had gone undeniably wrong. Right now, they could either disobey the king and kill the witch, or they could obey the king and let go of the advantage they had.
"What should we do, General? Personally, I believe it is only right that we move forward, but I am willing to follow any orders you give."
A soldier spoke up from the side with a serious look on his face, and once the general saw that look, he immediately came to a conclusion! The king hadn’t been on the frontline all this time, and none of the other generals back at the palace understood what they were facing here! If they retreated now, they might never get a chance like this again! They couldn’t let this go!
"We’re moving forward! Men, prepare your arms! The Witch’s forces have been depleted, and she is vulnerable! We can kill her and end this madness once and for all!"
The general drew his sword as he spoke to his men in a loud voice, and all the men there seemed to gain a massive boost to their morale when they saw that their general was going to fight! The same scene could be seen happening at various military outposts around Hondura! The soldiers who had been fighting the witch’s forces for close to a decade had suddenly been told to retreat, and although some of them listened and did as they were told, there were many others who chose not to retreat since this was one of the only moments when the Witch would be vulnerable! They could end this war once and for all!
