Chapter 1157: The Medicine-Guarding Serpent
Lin Wushuang didn’t think much and walked straight over. After taking a look at the thousand-year Reishi, she confirmed it was correct. She then raised her sword to prepare to cut it.
At this moment, suddenly a giant snake, at least four or five meters long, jumped out of the tree.
At this point, the giant snake was opening its bloody mouth, Lin Wushuang instinctively retreated backward and then pulled out a sword from her waist, pointing the blade at the snake and shouted, "You, you, don’t come over!"
This was the weapon given when entering the Trial Realm, to prevent encountering some beasts during the trial. Without a weapon in hand, it would be very difficult to deal with them.
And under Chen Tianlong’s instructions, the three girls were each equipped with a sword.
"Whew....."
The snake breathed loudly, apparently very angry.
This was a giant snake that had cultivated for a hundred years, always living under this old banyan tree. It had previously discovered the thousand-year Reishi here, so it had been guarding it, and the old tree survived because of the Reishi’s presence.
That’s why the other half of the trunk is still alive, absorbing its Spiritual Qi.
"Ah! Don’t... don’t come over."
The snake slowly wriggled towards Lin Wushuang, but after a while Lin Wushuang retreated four or five meters, and the snake didn’t follow, because its duty was to protect the Reishi.
It didn’t know if the opponent was bluffing, in case it used the strategy of luring the tiger away from the mountain, that would be a problem.
So, this snake was actually quite smart, capable of thinking, making it evidently a bit tricky to deal with.
Lin Wushuang was at a loss, but the task item was within arm’s reach, how could she give up?
Originally she hoped to wait until Chen Tianlong came to find her, and then figure out a way to get the thousand-year Reishi. But suddenly she thought, the snake moves so swiftly, if Chen Tianlong inadvertently got hurt for her, she would regret it immensely.
Moreover, he also hoped she could handle something independently, so Lin Wushuang gritted her teeth, gathered her courage, stomped her foot and swung her sword to attack.
At this moment, the snake originally thought it had scared Lin Wushuang, but it didn’t expect her to dare to swing her sword over, and instantly felt a bit frustrated.
However, as the guardian of the Reishi, it must resist all intruders.
The giant snake hurriedly moved forward and then raised its head high.
Lin Wushuang looked at a four- or five-meter-long snake suddenly unleashing its power, and immediately got startled again, preparing to halt her attack, but suddenly thought again, how could she feel so unsteady, giving up so easily.
Originally the snake didn’t want to harm people too much, this time it just wanted to scare Lin Wushuang a bit, making her retreat from difficulty.
But it had guessed wrong, Lin Wushuang closed her eyes and stabbed forward with the sword, while the snake was careless at this moment, not expecting Lin Wushuang to truly stab, so just right, the sword stabbed at the middle of the snake’s body near the waist.
"Ow... Huff!"
The snake was obviously painfully pierced, quickly crawling back to the tree, then it coiled up its body, seemingly enduring the piercing pain of the moment.
Lin Wushuang looked at the snake’s painful expression, and her heart immediately softened.
She was originally a girl with a relatively soft heart, doing this kind of thing for the first time, after the stab, her body kept trembling.
After the snake coiled up for a while, it suddenly became extremely angry, evidently the animal’s wild nature had been triggered.
At this moment, it not only had to protect the Reishi but also defend its own life. So the snake began preparing to actively attack, and at this moment, watching the snake quickly crawling over, Lin Wushuang was startled.
She hurriedly swung her sword to block, while the snake was also no longer gentle, just now being stabbed by this girl, it dared not be careless anymore.
So, the snake directly stretched out its big tongue, flicking it over, which was the snake’s ace weapon, wherever the tongue flicked, a puff of black smoke would rise, clearly laced with venom.
"Mama!"
Lin Wushuang watched this scene, scared out of her wits, the snake was simply terrifying, its tongue was poisonous, if it touched her, wouldn’t she be doomed?
Seeing this, Lin Wushuang hurriedly retreated several steps, highly alert.
Although she was now a cultivator, with Celestial Dao two-star strength, possibly able to deal with Spirit Beasts, yet this thing was truly terrifying, making Lin Wushuang have to raise her caution.
The snake made a move but got nothing, instantly a bit angry, it swung its tail hard, directly doing a Divine Dragon’s Tail Swing, the tail swiftly swaying towards Lin Wushuang.
And at this moment, she was just leaping to attack with her sword, but this move directly got the tail slap, Lin Wushuang flew backward four or five meters, heavily falling to the ground.
Instantly, her entire body hurt intensely, the sword also fell in front of the snake.
At this moment, Lin Wushuang was already unarmed, holding her left arm, crying from the pain. But the snake was already mad, it had identified Lin Wushuang as a dangerous person, determined to eliminate her.
So before Lin Wushuang could react, the snake swiftly crawled over, directly opening its mouth wide, revealing several sharp fangs, fiercely biting towards Lin Wushuang.
Lin Wushuang hurriedly placed her hands in front of her face, knowing it wouldn’t be effective, but instinctively just blocked like this, suddenly feeling very afraid.
Seconds later, still no movement ahead, instead hearing battle sounds, looking up, it turned out to be Chen Tianlong.
Chen Tianlong had been maneuvering around the snake for a while, then jumped beside Lin Wushuang, quickly hugged her, and retreated to a safe place.
"Chen Tianlong, you’re here!"
Lin Wushuang tightly hugged Chen Tianlong, like a mischievous child, in her mind she had already deemed herself a dead person, unexpectedly opening her eyes to see her Prince Charming.
"Wushuang, don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you." Chen Tianlong nodded with reassurance.
At this moment, the snake was startled by this sudden guy, it could feel that this person’s strength was quite formidable, able to injure it with just a short sword in his hand, indeed not simple.
Thus the snake wasted no time, directly using its biggest trump card.
"Roar....."
The snake let out a fierce roar, then transformed, its head starting to split open, suddenly two big claws emerged from the middle, while a meter away from its tail, two small claws extended as well.
Clearly the snake had transformed, at a glance it looked like a dragon, but never had anyone seen such an ugly dragon. More accurately, it should be a half dragon half snake Dragon Serpent Beast.
"Whoa, turns out it’s a Spirit Beast snake."
Chen Tianlong widened his eyes, it had been a long time since he had fought with a Spirit Beast, today he finally faced such a battle again.
At this point the transformed Dragon Serpent Beast looked extremely fierce, its eyes filled with wildness, like a hungry tiger from the deep mountains. Chen Tianlong hurriedly pushed Lin Wushuang out of his embrace and softly said, "You go wait on the side first, I’ll come find you once this is sorted out."
