A surprised uproar erupted behind him, and the other members of the Dingchuan Academy mecha team were also full of shock.
Why was Mu Fan suddenly assigned to the second match?
Thinking it over, many people showed dissatisfaction on their faces.
The red-haired "Red Cat" Jes sneered and said, "Junior, you indeed have a deep background with the Tutor Team."
Mu Fan ignored him, causing Jes to feel uninteresting and snort coldly, closing his mouth.
Seeing the confusion in Mu Fan's eyes, Bach nodded and said, "That's right, no need to question it, you're up for the second round."
Ruan Xiongfei and Qi Longxiang, standing beside Instructor Bach, also looked over and then showed a rather mysterious smile.
Mu Fan scratched his head, unable to grasp their thoughts, but since his name was mentioned, he decided to go up.
"Good luck."
Gu Yunyou patted Mu Fan on the shoulder.
[Why is everyone being so mysterious?...]
If White Hair were here, he'd surely shout that this was a bunch of sorcerers.
But, obviously Mu Fan didn't have such a rich vocabulary, so he just calmly walked through the duel corridor among the many meaningful glances from the Mecha Team.
"Remember, kid, this is the fair arena of mecha; there are no Thunderhawks here. If you lose..." As Mu Fan brushed past the red-haired "Red Cat", Jes's deeply threatening voice came to his ears.
Mu Fan suddenly stopped, turned his head, and looked at this senior.
The calm gaze directly interrupted Jes's words.
"I won't lose."
[At least not before entering the finals... I absolutely can't lose.]
Mu Fan turned his back to everyone, so no one could see the sparkle in his eyes at that moment.
Before arriving at the Capital Star, he and Black had jointly formulated a plan in which achieving a high ranking in the academy exchange competition was a necessary result.
This would directly relate to the crucial stage of Mu Fan's subsequent plans.
Darkness gradually engulfed Mu Fan; as he stepped into the combat corridor, shadows cast by the sunlight seemed to completely swallow his silhouette.
"Strange, why does it feel like his presence vanished suddenly? As expected, these fighting maniacs are somewhat eerie." Jes shook his head, talking to himself.
Ruan Xiongfei, feeling the surprised gaze beside him, turned his head to find it was the Highland Warrior from the academy's Dark Department, Tsunayoshi.
"Not simple."
In Tsunayoshi's intact right eye, a gleam of excitement shone for a moment.
"Mu Fan has many magical aspects. I've said before, he's the pillar of Dingchuan, and he'll be my pride, Ruan Xiongfei's, for life."
Big bald head felt all his pores open up when he heard such a master like Tsunayoshi say not simple; that comfort made the corners of his mouth twitch constantly.
Tsunayoshi's lips moved helplessly, finally giving up with a sigh.
"Laugh if you want; you never seemed this happy when we praised you before?"
"Hahahahaha, because I was never this amazing back then. He's my disciple, does he belong to you?"
Ruan Xiongfei finally burst into a pridefully smug guffaw.
Tsunayoshi's face almost turned blue with restraint, if not for that horrifyingly flashy bald head, he would have drawn his sword by now.
"By the way, your enemy seems to have led a team here this time. Cheer for our Mu Fan. He will surely deliver a heavy slap for you."
Ruan Xiongfei stared at the center of the field, spoke without turning his head.
Tsunayoshi's aura vanished in an instant, as if transforming into a ravenous tiger, the X-shaped scar on his left eye twitched twice, and a deep, etched hatred gleamed in his intact right eye.
"He actually came and joined Dawn's Tutor Team?"
"Yes, the chief instructor of Dawn's Fighting Team. If you can reach the finals, you'll surely face him."
Ruan Xiongfei spoke calmly.
Crackling sounds came from Tsunayoshi's hands at this moment, producing a crisp breaking noise.
Qi Longxiang turned his head, quietly observing Tsunayoshi with wise eyes.
"Mr. Tsunayoshi, the glory of Dingchuan decides our shared honor."
Qi Longxiang did not say the latter part, but Tsunayoshi obviously understood his implication.
Rubbing his wrist, this mysterious Highland Warrior turned to Ruan Xiongfei and said, "As long as he makes it to the semifinals, I will teach him the Highland Warrior's unique Heavenly Sword Skill."
"Unfortunately, he doesn't have Highland blood..."
"It's fine, if Mu Fan can learn your signature skill, I'd be content."
Ruan Xiongfei turned around, revealing a broad smile, hooking his arm around Tsunayoshi's shoulder, and excitedly said amidst the other's completely resigned and angry expression, "Bro, let's start betting? How many minutes do you think the opponent can last on stage? I bet 2 minutes..."
"I..."
Tsunayoshi had no desire to communicate with this old soldier rogue now.
"Which mecha will Mu Fan choose?"
Not only members of the Tutor Team and Mecha Team, but at this moment, all the students on the stands were holding their breath, showing contemplative yet expectant expressions.
...
...
"Ya!!?"
A graceful figure, with an elegant temperament, long flowing golden hair, and fair skin, her pointed ears and star-like eyes, a girl at this moment incredulously covered her mouth.
Staring wide-eyed, blinking at the brunette girl in front of her who bore an uncanny resemblance.
The girl's eyes were already brimming with tears.
After rubbing her eyes hard to confirm no mistake, she ran across directly without regard for the slim-fitting pale yellow dress she's wearing, holding that brunette girl tightly in her arms.
"Ya, you're finally back. Where on earth have you been all these days? Do you know I've been worried sick every day?"
Not far away, a brawny man with a gray wolf mark on his face bore a gratified smile.
[Princess Sinya, you have finally returned, and the Wood God Palace can regain its former liveliness.]
Sinya Galanold looked at the noble girl tightly holding her, tears finally rolled down her red-rimmed eyes in large drops.
Finally embracing the girl in front of her... Yue Xi Jialanode, her voice choked with tears at that moment.
"Sister, Sinya won't run around anymore, Sinya really, really missed you."
The sobbing evoked Yuexi's memories, during the days when Sinya was out of touch, all responsibilities of the Wood God Palace fell on her alone; if not for that towering figure she encountered before, she might have long returned to the embrace of the Wood God.
"I missed you too, Sinya; where have you been all these days? Do you know how sad you made your sister?"
Yuexi, as the elder, grabbed this beautiful girl exuding a natural wildness beside her, pulling her back while saying, "Daisendari, postpone all of today's matters at the Wood God Palace; arrange for personnel to handle daily affairs, I want to talk to Sinya."
Her noble air, ethereal voice bore an undeniable authority.
