"Standing so high, if it weren't for the light screen, I would have thought a meteorite was falling."
White Hair pressed his hand on the fat guy's face, murmuring.
"Jerk, can you not put your hand on my mouth?"
"I can." White Hair still had no intention of removing his hand.
The sudden appearance of Councilman Zong caused the scene to pause once more.
Then a clamor broke out.
It was clear that this method of island descent was beyond many people's expectations.
However, the island didn't land on the ground but hovered a hundred meters above it.
The middle-aged man in the light screen smiled, but the condescending air made many instinctively uncomfortable.
But the next second, Councilman Zong explained why the island didn't land with his actions.
"Mecha competition academy formation, prepare to ascend!"
The authoritative voice echoed throughout the stadium.
Then with a hum, semi-transparent energy shields suddenly rose around certain formation areas on the huge ring-shaped stands, instantly enclosing the students.
And then they began to rise slowly!
The competition areas for Dingchuan Academy and Gonia War Academy lifted from the ground after the leading instructors signaled, with a rumbling sound!
"The real battle platform is in the sky, where there is a larger area."
The fighting platform, originally 300 meters long and wide, began to extend with countless silver-white metals when ascending to the sky, linking all the rising platforms together.
One after another stand began to lift, and the connected areas in the sky grew larger.
Finally, a super-large-size Sky Arena, more than ten times the size of the stadium, appeared shockingly in the air.
At this moment, everyone was collectively speechless.
"Dawn Academy actually prepared such a grand setup!"
"God... how much money did this cost? They made a Floating City."
"I never thought I'd see such a level of site, the Capital Star now leaves only one impression on me... extravagant."
…
"The synchronous floating and stitching technology of the stands alone hasn't appeared anywhere in the entire Galaxy Federation yet, Dawn Academy is unfathomable."
"It's said that the cost of this Sky Arena exceeds 1.5 trillion Star Coins..."
"An entire fleet of the Elite Division doesn't exceed 700 billion, this scale..."
This was a discussion among high-level instructors from other academies.
…
"I am the chief engineer of mechanical design at Dawn Academy, you can call me Professor Genova, and I will give a short explanation for all participants in the mecha competition."
"This time the mecha battle is divided into two steps, which are individual mecha competition and the final team battle."
"Regarding the individual mecha competition I mentioned, it's the stage for you to show off your skills, in this Sky Arena, you can fight with peace of mind, it will definitely withstand the weight of the mecha, trust me."
Professor Genova's face appeared on the holographic light screen, the black mole near his eyes and eyebrows could even be seen having some lines.
"As for the academy team battle... I'm sure you're wondering how to fight on such a barren platform?"
After saying this, there was a flurry of discussion below.
"This old guy really knows how to keep people in suspense!"
White Hair pouted.
"Yeah, having a team fight on this field is a bit too much, right? Absolutely no technical content." A classmate wearing polarized glasses nearby the fat guy said indignantly.
"Hahaha, dear students, we certainly won't conduct team battles in the Sky Arena!"
Professor Genova said cheerfully.
A number of people fainted on the stands at once...
This unscrupulous professor was simply beyond their imagination.
"Ahem~"
"The individual and team competitions have separate entry qualifications, with different rewards for the final prizes, so to provide you the best experience..."
Professor Genova paused intentionally, the stands around became quiet, clearly, everyone was craning their necks and listening intently.
"After concluding the individual competition, the Sky Arena will lead you to the most professional and astonishing... Battle City on this planet!"
"A more than 50 square kilometer all-terrain battle city, here you will pilot mechas through all scenarios you once saw on the Battle Net. So, a word of thanks to the sponsor of Battle City, PO Panstellar Group!"
Upon hearing all this, those students who were keen on Battle Net battles were already extremely excited.
Cheer after cheer rose up, while the fighting matches below gradually came to an end.
"In 30 minutes, the Mecha Battle — Individual Competition officially begins!"
"All academy participants please make the necessary preparations."
After Genova finished speaking, he disappeared immediately.
…
The fighting match situation did not appear in the eyes of these mecha competition members.
They had just come out of the preparation room.
Mu Fan stood at the edge of the team, widening his eyes to study Gu Yunyou carefully, initially, Young Master Gu remained calm and composed.
As a result, Mu Fan's gaze never moved away, and Young Master Gu gradually felt a bit creeped out...
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I never expected to see you here," Mu Fan said honestly.
Gu Yunyou glanced around, seeing no one paying attention, leaned in and whispered, "I'm just here to build my resume, just ignore me."
He stood at the edge of the team, and Mu Fan, observing for so long, noticed that no one in the participating team seemed to be talking to Gu Yunyou.
It was evident that he was isolated.
Plus with Gu Yunyou's own words, the result was clear, these proud members didn't hold respect for someone who got in through connections.
"You should get to know each other first, Mu Fan just arrived at the competition and hasn't attended any prior training, I'll coordinate everything in a minute," Bach said simply, and the students began looking at each other.
Mu Fan immediately felt numerous gazes directed at him, those eyes holding curiosity and skepticism.
"Is he the strongest newcomer?"
"The commotion on Blue Capital Star before coming was caused by him, right?"
…
Amidst the murmuring, a tall and slender young man with calm eyes walked up to Mu Fan.
Mu Fan and Gu Yunyou immediately stopped talking, the person before them was someone Mu Fan had encountered once before...
The vice president of the Mecha Club, Ghost Tiger Crock.
"Hello, freshman Mu Fan. I am the captain of this mecha competition team," Crock's voice was neither friendly nor aloof, as was his usual manner.
Mu Fan obviously showed no sign of being bothered, smiling and nodding, "Nice to meet you again, senior."
"What's your goal?" Crock promptly asked.
"Championship!" Mu Fan replied without hesitation.
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a burst of laughter around.
Crock shook his head, "I know you are the pilot of Thunderhawk, and also remember your bold speech when you enrolled, but there are things I need to remind you about."
"In this competition, all mechas are of the same level, you'll encounter many previously unheard-of opponents, everyone is on a level playing field, and it's all about true skill."
At this point, the atmosphere had become a bit tense.
The smile on Mu Fan's face vanished as well, "What do you mean?"
"I won't say much about the individual competition, since you're here, you'll have a chance to perform, just do your best."
"As for the team competition... I'd like you and your friend to enter the fourth team."
Twenty people, divided by strength into first, second, third, and fourth teams.
The fourth team isn't even a substitute's substitute...
To put it nicely, it's an observation team, a learning team.
Mu Fan's face showed no sign of expression, nor did he utter a word.
However, Gu Yunyou beside him shot Ghost Tiger Crock an amused look and then lightly said:
"I have no objections."
