Capítulo 1097: Chapter 863: My Students Are Always the Best!
When witnessing this heated scene, the bald man clicked his tongue and sighed, though the roguish look on his face cast doubt on the sincerity of his words.
Beside him, a young man in a Colonel’s uniform with an exceptional demeanor smiled.
“Since our parting in Blue Capital, Captain Ruan still has his charisma.”
“Alright, stop flattering me, kid. I used to have an educator’s position for show, but now I’m completely idle.” Ruan Xiongfei brushed his big bald head with a chuckle, showing no regret, but rather pride.
He had gained the glory he deserved and found a successor for Thunderhawk. What else is there to be dissatisfied with in this life?
“Captain Ruan has a keen eye for talent, securing a true successor for himself and Dingchuan. It is an honor for me, Qi Longxiang, to watch the Academy competition with you today,” the young Colonel said with a gentle smile.
“It’s my honor too, to thrive on Capital Star by my own power, you’re one of a kind.” Ruan Xiongfei surveyed the fierce combat in the arena with interest, glancing back at the other, “What’s up, got some free time lately?”
“There are some rumors about the Eight Xingluo Army Commanders, but the Staff Department is stuck in meaningless internal squabbles. Instead of joining in, I’d rather cheer for my alma mater here,” Qi Longxiang responded calmly, showing no signs of disturbance.
Ruan Xiongfei raised his thumb, “The ability to stay composed, impressive.”
Qi Longxiang stood still, eyes looking forward, “Captain Ruan, we have arrived.”
Ruan Xiongfei pondered over Qi Longxiang’s words and muttered to himself, “A tumultuous time indeed.”
Then he looked up and saw Bach, who appeared solemn not far away, and his mouth arced into a smile.
“Hey, Old Bach.”
Bach, whose brow was almost furrowed into a knot, was surprised by the greeting and turned around, relaxing his eyebrows upon seeing the two standing side by side.
…
“Dingchuan Academy doesn’t seem to be doing well this time,” someone said quietly in Taoyun Academy’s formation area.
“Gonia War Academy is a powerhouse among B-level academies; it’s like raising a pack of wolves…” Once appearing in the Army Reserve special recruitment, Supervisor He Tian spoke softly.
The goal of Taoyun Academy in this competition is not Dingchuan, but Pulan Military Academy, so he spoke from a rather objective standpoint.
Based on the situation observed so far, it’s difficult for Dingchuan to create any waves with its strength.
“What about Dingchuan’s talented student?” Supervisor He Tian asked without turning his head.
“According to gathered information, it seems… they have not appeared,” the assistant behind him spoke softly.
“Let’s wait and observe the mecha and ship battles, which are the real highlights.”
…
There are quite a few who share this mentality.
The elites of combat battles often end up in the Federation’s Marine Corps.
But the true high value lies with the elites of mecha and starship battles. The top players will be sought after by various major powers.
Consequently, some academy and major power inspectors quickly lost interest in Dingchuan Academy’s combat battles.
Yet among the ordinary students, spectators of Dingchuan Formation gradually increased.
Because they have heard of a newfound prestigious academy name these days—Gonia War Academy!
“Match 10, Sawyer vs. Tang Liuyun.”
A student in a tight-fitting olive green vest walked to the stage, with a standard buzz cut and expressionless face, but his whites of the eyes extended far more than others, appearing extremely unsettling.
Standing at nearly 190 centimeters tall, muscles on his exposed arms resembled rocks standing in the desert, well-defined, adorned with countless scars.
The Fighting Platform was an ultra-large stage of 900 square meters, and as he executed a super-wide flip from offstage and landed directly on the ground.
The thud reverberated on the platform, instantly creating an overwhelming aura that shocked the surroundings.
Though fewer in number, the Gonia Formation erupted in an instant.
“Sawyer——”
“——Victory!”
…
“Sawyer——”
“——Invincible!”
…
The resounding chants were shouted in unison by the wolf-like students, the hundred-man team creating a shockwave effect as if a thousand were roaring together.
The students from Dingchuan Academy were momentarily subdued by this aura.
The silent and unassuming Dark Heavenly King Tang Liuyun stood there, appearing exceptionally frail.
“That’s truly a tough adversary.”
Ruan Xiongfei stroked his chin, then laughed grimly, “But hell, can you be intimidated by that?”
He took a deep breath, and a thunderous voice suddenly boomed from below the stage.
“Dingchuan students, the opponents are right in front of you. It’s time to risk it all; stop fussing!”
“Where’s your backbone? Straighten it out for me!”
“Looking all pretentious, stop claiming you’re from Dingchuan right now, I tell ya!”
The deafening sound echoed beneath the stage.
The cheering squad of a thousand instantly turned their gaze.
Seeing that striking bald head clearly, their eyes flashed with astonishment, shame, and finally, wild joy.
“Instructor Ruan!”
The crowd instantaneously erupted with those clear three words, the sound wave startling the adjacent students.
Instructor Ruan? Which Instructor Ruan?
“Alright, lads, show me your indomitable spirit!”
“Come on, cheer up, shout with all your might!”
Ruan Xiongfei grinned, his powerful voice unmistakably covering the entire Dingchuan stands.
In that instant, even Gonia’s Supervisor Manker and the stage’s Sawyer turned their gaze.
“Tang Liuyun——”
“Sure win!”
One student, with pent-up anger for days, suddenly stood up and roared at the Fighting Platform.
Only needing a point to ignite the emotions, at this moment, those downcast students roared in unison:
“Sure win!”
“Sure win!!”
This sudden explosion of huge and uniform sound waves attracted countless gazes nearby within seconds.
“What’s up with Dingchuan, did they get energized?”
“How did they suddenly get so excited, is there something going on!?”
Eyes of some reporters at the field’s edge lit up, and they quickly ran towards Dingchuan Formation’s Fighting Platform.
Hearing the organized and spirited cheers from behind.
The ever-silent Tang Liuyun’s eyes showed a flicker of emotion. He’s not one of those old foxes in the secular world, but a passionate youth with blood that hasn’t cooled, merely silent most of the time with little chance to express.
And now, hearing the roaring cheer behind him, he also felt a natural surge of determination within his heart.
That is Dingchuan’s honor.
That is the expectation of generations upon generations of the entire academy.
“Tang Liuyun, my student, is always the best! Knock the opponents down with all your might! Set an example for future freshmen, let them know the awe of their predecessors.”
Ruan Xiongfei looked at that not-so-strong figure and shouted.
Though he left Dingchuan, in his eyes—
Dingchuan is always the best!
My students are forever the best!
This thin body turned around, looking at the bald head with a joyful glare.
He nodded vigorously.
Turning his head, he slowly drew two daggers from his waist.
Meanwhile, Sawyer’s face finally betrayed his usual expressionless look, as his chilling whites fixed on Tang Liuyun.
Slowly donning two steel gauntlets.
“Interesting.”
