Capítulo 1096: Chapter 862: First Battle, a Painful Price
Some students from other academies, who originally came with reverence to watch the match, were now buzzing with discussions here.
Along the way, the other Four Great Colleges had all advanced with ease in the first round, so why did the match at Dingchuan Academy look so difficult?
Listening to the chatter in their ears, the students of Dingchuan Academy were dissatisfied, yet could not offer any strong rebuttal.
Because what they saw unnerved them greatly.
This tournament was tied to Dingchuan Academy’s ten-year honor, so from the start of the selection process, it was extremely strict, with a very small proportion of freshmen.
Yet even so, Dingchuan Academy faced a super-strong sniper in their first match!
The opponent’s might was unforeseen, even by Bach.
The first match was a fighting contest, with Dingchuan Academy fielding the excellent second team member, Ruth.
Ruth, as an outstanding member of the Fighting Club, though not among the Five Heavenly Kings, had achievements sufficient to join the school team.
His ultimate leg techniques could shatter stones and crack mountains, highly praised by martial artists on Blue Capital Star, who believed that given time, he would leave a martial arts hall legacy in Blue Capital Star’s fighting circles.
However, in his first match, he encountered a silent and reserved opponent from Gonia War Academy, named Wu He, who had never appeared in Dingchuan’s database.
This meant he was a hidden student of Gonia War Academy.
When Wu He entered the stage, his face, neck, and hands were all covered in scars.
Even on the live screen, the new scabs on his face were clearly visible.
Such an otherwise ordinary-looking student instantly inflicted a heavy blow on Ruth, pouring cold water on Dingchuan’s cheering formation.
When Ruth aggressively stepped forward with rapid steps, creating more than three phantoms and using the Flying Swallow Kick, the opponent seemed dumbstruck.
As Ruth’s right leg, like a flying swallow, swept toward the opponent’s left arm, all the spectators frowned as they watched Wu He’s left arm being snapped with a single kick, the bones visibly bending.
However, from that moment, the mindset of everyone at Dingchuan Academy began to change.
Wu He, whose face was covered in scars, didn’t even furrow his brow; he seized Ruth’s right leg in an instant, swung him backward directly!
Ruth, caught off guard, was locked in place, and then people seemed to witness the scene of a starving wolf pouncing instantly, with Wu He, who had only one unharmed arm, charging forward, his right fist raining down like a torrent.
By the time the arena staff arrived, Ruth had been beaten beyond recognition, with both arms fractured, nine ribs broken, internal bleeding, the whole person unconscious…
And Wu He didn’t care at all about his broken arm, only giving Dingchuan Academy’s formation an icy smile.
The chilling scene made many girls cover their eyes in fright.
Bach, with a resolute face, twitched slightly, as he saw the smile sent from Gonia War Academy’s instructor Manker.
Is this a killer trained by Gonia…
“Let Artwood go up.”
Instructor Lindberg looked at the commotion in their formation and said to Bach.
Thus, Thunderstorm Heavenly King, one of the originally slated final players, Artwood, who had once fought Mu Fan at Lamp Coffee House, took the stage as the second player.
There were only three matches on the first day…
When Artwood took the stage, Wu He simply smiled and jumped off the platform with his arms folded.
This made countless Dingchuan students furious.
The second match was against a giant nearly 2.2 meters tall, nicknamed “Rock,” whose tough skin seemed to block out pain.
After hitting the opponent 379 times with the Tiger Killing Fist, Artwood finally managed to KO the opponent.
But what shocked him was… from beginning to end, the student nicknamed “Rock” didn’t let out a single groan of pain, and from start to finish, only counterattacked with three punches.
All three punches landed heavily on Artwood’s right kidney.
Under the weight and power of that heavy physique, the three punches caused a direct dent on the right side of Artwood’s back.
When he defeated the opponent, his body was trembling lightly, and his back was dotted with bloodstains.
In the third match, Artwood continued to compete, facing a small-sized student in weapon fighting.
Artwood donned the Finger Tiger, while the opponent wore a steel hand claw.
This battle truly let the students of Dingchuan experience the bloody nature of the fight.
Artwood, belonging to the explosive fighting school, struck with the ferocity of a tiger descending the mountain every time he attacked. However, the opponent moved like an agile lynx, swiftly maneuvering beside Artwood, precisely leaving a scratch on his body whenever they dodged the powerful tiger’s roar intent fist.
The academy exchange competition forbids competitors from killing their opponents; violators will be permanently expelled, and neither the military nor the government will employ them.
After enduring over thirty claw strikes, Artwood finally landed a punch like a Tiger Bite, striking the opponent’s shoulder hollow, sending him flying off the stage.
At this moment, Artwood had already turned into… a bloodied man, half-kneeling on the fighting platform.
On Blue Capital Star, within Dingchuan Academy, many girls who witnessed this scene were already sobbing uncontrollably.
In the first battle, Dingchuan Academy had one person unconscious, one severely injured, with 2 wins and 1 loss.
The second day…
Dingchuan Academy’s Fiery Fire Heavenly King Xu Hua took the stage.
In the first two matches, he compressed the combat time to less than 30 minutes with a physical level as high as 23 and his ultra-high explosive muscle control.
Two consecutive defeats for Gonia War Academy, but then they brought up a cold opponent with a red cloth tied to his right arm, one eye clear and the other turbid.
Unexpectedly, this opponent engaged Xu Hua in continuous counter-attacks at that moment, and on the sixty-fifth exchange, Xu Hua was hit with a flying powerful punch to the back of his neck.
The whole person was knocked unconscious.
Dingchuan lost another match, again ending in extremely tragic severe injury-induced unconsciousness.
The third day…
Dingchuan Academy’s Fighting Club member Di Shengyue requested to battle, but after 5 minutes and 32 seconds, he was severely injured by an elbow to the chest with the Gonia fighting style technique “Fountain Counterattack.”
Spurting a mist of blood, incapacitating him on the spot.
Fighting Club’s Derick took the stage, lasting 7 minutes and 20 seconds before being knocked 10 meters away by an A-Class fighting skill—the Cloud Hall Leg, fainting on the spot.
Veins bulged on Bach’s fist as he finally sent out the Shadow Heavenly King—Tang Liuguang, who after receiving two fist pits on his body, pierced through the opponent’s shoulder hollow and pinned them to the ground, forcing a surrender.
…
Today is already the fourth day.
The Dingchuan Academy students who came along as a cheering squad now showed no trace of joy on their faces.
Such victories are not what they wanted at all.
As Dingchuan Academy’s initial battle, the price of such victories is simply unbearable!
Even though Dawn Academy has the most outstanding medical team within the Federation, those severely injured fighters find it difficult to re-enter the battle in a short time.
Bach’s face was heavy, his eyes unblinking as he watched Tang Liuyun’s debut battle.
Such a battle situation is not what he wanted at all…
The backbone of the fighting contest is undoubtedly the Fighting Club’s Five Great Kings.
They were originally planned as important participants to be deployed in the later stages of the competition, but now, the brutality of Dingchuan Academy’s matches has placed them within the top three of a thousand matches in this academy exchange competition.
Manker of Gonia War Academy noticed Bach’s expression and laughed wildly there.
“The power of Gonia’s wolf pack hasn’t even truly begun to show itself. Mr. Bach, there must be some flaw in your academy’s education, the current era requires real iron-willed soldiers, your academy is producing… a flock of sheep?”
“Hahaha!”
The piercing laughter filled the arena, drawing the attention of many instructors from other academies.
And among the audience, those students from other academies who came to observe, sat there disappointed by their performance.
“Winning two out of three matches, is this the standard of the Five Great Colleges?!”
Dingchuan students listened to the mocking voices beside them, their faces furious yet unable to retort a single word.
Harry sat in the audience seats, his small blazer already unbuttoned, his clenched hands loosening, and his palms long since filled with sweat.
White Hair and Young Master Gu were no longer in the audience, the two most optimistic people around him were not there.
The fatso’s chest heaved, constantly muttering, “How could this be, Young Master doesn’t want to see such matches at all.”
Beside him, Li Xiaoxi with a baseball cap, tightly gripped the camera in his hands, not wanting to photograph this scene.
As for the always-eating big fatty William, he was now taking up two seats alone, sitting silently for an hour without uttering a word.
No one is in a good mood now.
…
So they naturally didn’t know that a bald man with a thug-like appearance had just passed through the security gate, entering the arena.
“Yo, such a grand scale.”
