Chapter 1069: Do You Have Something to Say?
Jinxuan frowned, but unexpectedly, she didn’t say anything like before, mostly because she was too lazy to speak.
By now, she probably already appeared to belong to Nangong Jin in everyone’s eyes.
However, Nangong Jin’s attempt to please her parents still caught her off guard.
She raised her eyebrows and looked at Nangong Jin, noticing his face was still slightly flushed and his eyes were as intoxicating as ever, yet he sat there quietly, listening to Di Yan say something.
He would occasionally part his lips to say a few words, and Di Yan would smile joyously, patting his shoulder and drinking with him enthusiastically.
Hadn’t he already drunk almost enough?
Still drinking?
Jinxuan knit her brows, fearing that he would truly get drunk soon.
Jinxuan thought about going over, worried about what Nangong Jin might say to her parents. If both Fang Hao and Di Yan agreed to Nangong Jin’s proposition...
Oh my, wouldn’t she be fighting this battle all alone?
She suddenly realized that just today, it seemed like he had won over everyone around him.
Today, of all these younger generations, who didn’t know that Nangong Jin was pursuing her?
The elders had been won over by him too, and some of the guests already thought they were a couple.
Ah, goodness, how did things turn out so unexpectedly?
But if she really went over to that table, she didn’t know what to say.
If Nangong Jin really said those shameless words, she genuinely didn’t know how to respond.
If she didn’t argue, her parents might think she reciprocated his feelings.
If she argued, was she supposed to throw a temper tantrum all by herself?
Honestly, she really didn’t want to ruin the relationship.
These were all familiar people; ruining relationships would mean awkward encounters that couldn’t be avoided.
Besides, this was originally an issue between her and Nangong Jin. If it caused awkwardness for the adults, that was definitely not her wish.
The Di Family and the Nangong Family had been friends since their fathers’ generation, a friendship dated back decades, so, she was really troubled.
You see, this is the trouble with being too familiar; even tearing into each other requires careful thought beforehand.
After considering, Jinxuan ultimately did not go over and turned back to quietly continue eating.
Meanwhile, Nangong Jin, Di Yan, and Fang Hao were engrossed in a lively chat, mostly talking about games.
Discussing some amusing incidents from the games, they enjoyed a cheerful conversation.
Nangong Jin had several drinks with Di Yan and then several more with Gu Ruhai, followed by toasts with Fang Hao and Qin Qian.
After so many drinks, he really was struggling to cope.
But Di Yan continued pouring drinks, wanting to drink more with him.
After finishing this drink, he really couldn’t handle it anymore. With no other choice, he put down his cup, smiled, and rubbed his stomach, "I’m really sorry, I drank quite a lot this afternoon. Uncle Yan, I truly cannot drink anymore, can we continue another day?"
"Alright, don’t make Xiaojin uncomfortable." Before Di Yan could reply, Fang Hao interjected, "He has already had plenty, no need for more. Moreover, the lad is still injured."
Hearing this, Di Yan paused with his cup in hand, nodded, and patted Nangong Jin’s shoulder, "Alright, we’ll drink another day, after your injury heals."
"Sure." Nangong Jin nodded, showing a charming smile.
"Xiaojin," Fang Hao finally couldn’t help but ask, "you don’t have something you want to tell Uncle Yan, do you?"
Nangong Jin was startled, but since Fang Hao had pointedly asked, he did not beat around the bush. He nodded sincerely and admitted, "Yes, there is something I’d like to discuss with both of you."
"Go ahead." Fang Hao picked up some food and put it in his mouth, smiling warmly.
