Chapter 1054: Bo Chenghe Arrives
Di Jinxuan hung up the phone, still feeling a bit excited. She had long known that Nangong Jin and Alvin were both pretty impressive.
But somehow, the fact that her teacher and classmates were also excited made her happy as well.
Just as she had hung up the phone, she noticed someone standing in front of her. It was Bo Chenghe.
His face was flushed and he smelled of alcohol; he had clearly drunk quite a bit.
He just stood there in front of her, looking at her.
Di Jinxuan also looked back at him.
The two of them stared at each other like that for a while without speaking.
Eventually, Bo Chenghe slightly lifted his lips into a smile, reached out to touch her face, and softly said, "Xuanxuan, you seem very happy."
Di Jinxuan was stunned.
It took her a few seconds to react, and then she smiled, nodding, "Yes, quite happy."
"That’s good," the smile on Bo Chenghe’s lips grew wider. His thumb couldn’t help but caress her smooth face, point by point, then he asked, "Have you been well these past days?"
"You already asked that before," Di Jinxuan replied. "I’m fine, how about you?"
She didn’t stop Bo Chenghe’s gesture because it didn’t repel her.
"I’ve been quite good too." Bo Chenghe eventually withdrew his hand, sat down opposite her, his deep gaze fixed on her face, and murmured, "I’ve just missed you a lot."
Di Jinxuan didn’t speak, but silently watched him for a long while before asking, "Then why did you leave?"
Hearing this, Bo Chenghe’s expression darkened, and he self-mockingly lifted his lips, "I felt like I had no right to stand by your side."
What could he give her?
Money?
She didn’t lack it.
Power?
She lacked that even less.
She loved dancing, but he was a dance idiot, not even able to coordinate his hands and feet well.
Moreover, the incident involving Bo Chengxin had made things very unpleasant between their families. So what reason did he have to not leave?
Hearing Bo Chenghe’s words, Di Jinxuan didn’t respond. Her feelings for Bo Chenghe were also complicated, knowing that he had liked her since they were young.
He had always been extremely protective of her.
They could be considered childhood sweethearts, but she always felt that there was something lacking in her interactions with Bo Chenghe.
Moreover, Bo Chenghe had never personally told her, "I like you."
She couldn’t possibly take the initiative with Bo Chenghe.
A man who didn’t dare to express his liking seemed somewhat cowardly to her.
But that didn’t affect their friendship.
After a long silence, Di Jinxuan finally lifted a trace of a smile, somewhat bitter, "Among friends, there’s nothing about having or not having the right. The issues between our families don’t really concern us two."
Bo Chenghe’s smile was even more bitter than hers.
Yes, the issues between their families really didn’t concern the two of them.
But his intention was to marry her, and if he were to marry her, that would inevitably connect him with the family issues.
Bo Chenghe took a deep breath, his eyes slightly reddened for some reason, like a rabbit’s. He covered his face with both hands, and rubbed vigorously to compose himself before saying, "Is Nangong Jin good to you?"
Actually, this was somewhat redundant; he had just seen that Nangong Jin was pretty good to her.
Di Jinxuan was startled, her brows instantly furrowing, then relaxing as she shrugged her shoulders, feigning nonchalance as she casually replied, "There’s nothing particularly good or bad, we’re just acquaintances."
Bo Chenghe understood her very well. Di Jinxuan was that kind of girl.
A kind-hearted girl who couldn’t bear to hurt others.
