Chapter 1066 - 1002: Hiring Sona to Run Trade Routes
Now, Da Fei in the expansive lower deck of the enormous Beastman warship sees a large group of slave warriors bound with strange thorns:
— Minotaur Slave Warrior: Medium-sized NPC humanoid creature, Attack 31, Defense 19, Damage 26-35, Life 450, Attack Speed 11, Move Speed 17, Stamina 350, Command Power: Currently uncommandable. Special Skill: Production and Transport, Charge, Tenacity, Valor, Heavy Weapon Mastery.
Da Fei is shaken to his core!
Oh my! No wonder slave warriors possess the home Divine Skill of level 0 troops, Production and Transport! As long as they can manage Production and Transport, they are a favorite of Lord players; who would want them charging into battle? Their astounding stamina of 350 is simply tailor-made for hard labor!
This is also the first time Da Fei has seen another troop capable of Production and Transport besides the Vine Demon, but this combat power must be so much stronger than the Vine Demon, and even approaches the health level of routine level 7 troops of various races! Wow, what goods! If this fleet weren’t meant to be kept low profile, Da Fei would definitely want to transport them back to Lighthouse Islands for personal use! There’s a thousand of them!
If any current player had 1000 of such troops reaching the attack and defense level of level 7 troops, what would happen? An invincible army! Even if I consider myself strong, it’s unlikely I could defeat them.
Then Da Fei saw the legendary One-eyed Giant Slave Warriors, their enormous bodies curled up inside large wooden cages big enough to hold elephants. If even Minotaurs are this formidable, then what level of strength do Beastman level 7 troops like the One-eyed Giant possess?
Da Fei checked their attributes with awe:
— One-eyed Monster Slave Warrior: Large-sized NPC humanoid creature, Attack 66, Defense 46, Damage 60-80, Life 1050, Attack Speed 8, Move Speed 15, Stamina 850, Command Power: Currently uncommandable. Special Skill: Production and Transport, Tenacity, Sweeping Strike, Throwing Mastery, Heavy Weapon Mastery.
Oh my! This health, this damage, has reached the level of an Elite Angel; can this kind of troops really be sold!? And it’s 100 of them?! At this moment, Da Fei is genuinely stunned!
But, don’t get excited, don’t get excited, their Command Value attribute is in red and unusable, likely due to these binding thorns. That means as slaves, their Command Power must be terribly high, making them unsuitable for players to use for warfare.
Da Fei then returns to the deck, and finds the Shaman Hero who is resting and recuperating, asking: "What’s the situation with these slaves’ Command Value?"
The Shaman Hero whispers: "Lord Warrior, although these slaves have immense strength and enough intelligence to complete assignments, they are extremely unruly and might even escape, requiring supervision throughout. Their Command Power is also very unstable; this is their only flaw. This is also the reason the Thunder Spear City Lord has to lower the price."
Da Fei suddenly understands, these slaves indeed can’t be used by players, that’s fine, no need to worry, just sell them.
Da Fei nods: "Once we reach the territory of the Siren Sea Demons, make sure to come up with a way to make these slaves obedient, that way we can sell them for a better price."
The Shaman Hero nods and bows: "We will obey."
Witnessing their humble post-surrender attitude, Da Fei can’t help but feel delighted and decides to befriend them well, not to exploit them too harshly. Yes, Da Fei is often ruthless against players, but against NPCs? Their backing system is vast and mighty; Da Fei doesn’t truly have that nerve.
Da Fei recalls something and asks: "By the way, how did these strong slave warriors get tied by a circle of thorns?"
The Shaman Hero looks proud: "It’s fair to say this is the only treasure our War Soul Clan has found over hundreds of years in the barren wastelands that lets us settle and make a living. If the Lord Warrior is interested, once we’ve forged a friendship, I’ll share it with you thoroughly."
Oh my! Truly convincing and tempting my appetite, at most it’s a plant god similar to the Holy Vine, I don’t have the energy for that.
Da Fei laughs and says: "Alright, you go ahead and rest and revive."
At 9:30 a.m. Beijing Time, the Shaman Hero and his Shaman team revived all the sailors, the Water Monster pulling the ship, and the combat troops, and embarked on a new journey following the Flying.
At this time, Sona approached Da Fei, excitedly saying: "It’s worthy of the Lord Warrior, this victory not only reduces Thunder Spear City Lord’s power and hits his expansion confidence, but also likely improves the Siren Clan’s favor, surely benefiting the reconciliation of the two clans. There’s a reason the Dark Tide Lord appreciates the Lord Warrior."
Da Fei laughs heartily: "Not at all, this victory was greatly thanks to Miss Sona! By the way, I wonder why your first spell ambush had such tremendous power to blow their flagship away, yet the spells after didn’t have such power?"
Sona laughs: "Because my spells inherently don’t have such power! But the first spell is different; it was cast when the opponent was accelerated by the gale wind. This is equivalent to a gentle trip in front of a person sprinting, the effect is absolutely unparalleled!"
Da Fei, realizing, praises: "I see, Miss Sona indeed has profound skills!"
Sona shakes her head and says: "Compared to the Lord Warrior, I feel there’s much I need to learn."
Haha, I love hearing that. Okay, having fulfilled her wish surely increases our favor, now let’s talk business. Even if you are a spy planted in my team by the Temple Chief, I want to make it so there’s no return!
Da Fei asks: "Miss Sona, assisting me this time must be credited with the temple, would continuing to make merits let you regain your position as Temple Priest Leader?"
Sona shakes her head somberly: "I’m just making amends, not building merits. The stains from the fallen warriors and eradicated teams won’t be covered by my merits to make amends."
Not returning suits my intentions! Da Fei directly starts recruiting: "Then is it possible for Miss Sona to join my team and become one of my Deputy Officers?"
Sona is taken aback, then shakes her head: "Not sure."
Da Fei’s eyebrows twitch, there’s hope! With NPC’s nature, unless they directly say "impossible," it means impossible; this unclear reply means possible, just the process may be a bit of a pain.
Da Fei asks again: "After I complete this transaction, I’m about to return to the Land Kingdom, will Miss Sona continue to follow me then?"
Sona’s expression changes and she sighs: "Unexpected, such a short journey for the Lord? I cannot leave the Eastern Islands Sea Area, I’m afraid I must leave the lord’s team."
Da Fei’s eyebrows twitch again: "Then after leaving my team, what will you do?"
Sona wrinkles her brows: "I don’t know, waiting for the temple’s instructions."
Da Fei expresses surprise: "Waiting for the temple’s instructions? Continue praying and repenting before the temple?"
Sona responds blankly: "Not sure."
Da Fei urgently says: "You definitely don’t want to live that kind of life, right?"
Sona nods: "Of course!"
There’s hope! Da Fei is inspired: "In that case, I’ll give you a ship, inviting you to help my Lighthouse Islands City with trading, how about taking half the profit?"
Sona looks at Da Fei in shock: "Leave a ship to me?"
Da Fei nods expectantly: "How about that? That’s still considered my guidance isn’t it? No, guiding Lighthouse Islands City in trading, doesn’t conflict with the Chief’s task, does it?"
Sona, excited, says: "Although I’m unsure what’s possible or not, it’s not said to be impossible."
Da Fei delights: "Then how about trying? If the Chief argues it’s impossible, I’ll entreat you further! Get the money first, from you accepting my few ship gifts it seems your clan is quite in need of money?"
Sona finally decides: "Good! I accept the lord’s invitation!"
Da Fei slaps his thigh in elation, it’s a success! Actually getting an NPC hero to trade for me, now I can earn money even while sleeping, in that case leaving her one ship isn’t enough, at least 2 ships! Besides, she is a local Naga Hero, which pirate without eyes would dare to rob her? Haha, wahaha! (To be continued.
