Chapter 1045 - 981: Nasir’s Soul Devouring Success
Tamilia opened the Holy Vine Space Gate, and Da Fei and his group entered a dark red space where only the Nasir Ancient Tree stood silently. In the adjacent space separated by a "wall," there lay a terrifying space filled with corpses and writhing vines.
After Tamilia officially became a hero, she gained the ability to create new spaces. Thus, the current Holy Vine Space has a total capacity of 3000 units, with 2000 units dedicated to storing corpses, and the other 1000 units reserved for this special chamber for Nasir.
At this moment, Nasir spoke: "Welcome, warriors. It has been a long time since I tasted demon flesh and blood. I am in great discomfort!"
Ah, there’s no helping it, there are no demons in the Eastern World. Da Fei could only smile wryly and ask, "Does demon soul count?"
Nasir replied gravely: "As long as it’s a demon, anything will do!"
Da Fei nodded and waved his hand: "Let’s begin!"
Deirdre warned: "Soul Devouring is actually a very dangerous thing. If the soul strength of the Abyss Lord exceeds Nasir’s, it might end in Nasir being devoured instead. We must be cautious about this!"
Da Fei was startled: "Is that possible?"
Selvia said seriously: "I will extract the Abyss Lord’s demon soul very slowly. Under my control, there will be no opportunity for resistance from the demon soul."
Nasir said solemnly: "Resistance is not a problem. My will and hatred for demons will give me the power to overcome any demon soul!"
Tamilia added: "Let’s start, come to the interior of the Ancient Tree Fortress."
As the space door of the Ancient Tree Fortress opened, Da Fei and the others arrived at the command room inside the fortress, where Selvia inserted the Sea Soul Staff into the location of the Earth Dragon’s Heart, and began casting spells. Strands of red smoke slowly floated from the Sea Soul Staff into the Earth Dragon’s Heart.
At this moment, Da Fei was bewildered!
Da Fei suddenly realized that his vice-heroes had become smarter and more advanced! They were now casually mentioning Soul Devouring, which he had never heard of before, and instantly knew how to use the Sea Soul Staff! When did this change occur? Could it be due to the long-term development of sailing training on the intelligence and info libraries of the vice-heroes? That would be the only explanation, right? After all, even ordinary troops have advanced; there’s no reason a hero wouldn’t grow.
It’s good that the vice-heroes are smarter, making the player more relaxed, allowing them to idle and sleep with peace of mind! So, Da Fei leisurely observed as events unfolded.
As time passed by, Selvia’s forehead began to bead with sweat.
Da Fei asked worriedly: "Is everything going to be alright?"
Deirdre shook her head and said seriously: "Rest assured, Master. The state of the demon soul being devoured is certain; the difficulty lies in how much can be absorbed, which is why Sir Selvia is so focused. Taking Necromancers as an example, Necromancers who devour a lot of enemy souls have a chance to learn the enemy’s skills, which is why they are so versatile and powerful."
Da Fei was struck by surprise: "You can actually learn soul skills?"
Deirdre nodded: "Yes, but only if the devoured soul is somewhat compatible with the abilities of the Necromancer. For example, a Necromancer consuming many warrior souls is unlikely to learn warrior combat skills. The Abyss Lord is a powerful size-dominating melee warrior, very similar to the function of the Ancient Tree Fortress, so the chance of learning a skill is quite high!"
Da Fei realized: "So that’s it!"
Just then, Nasir’s voice echoed from within the fortress: "Learn skills? Ridiculous! Although Nasir has lost a lot of knowledge and memory, he truly doesn’t feel these Abyss Demons can teach him anything — now, warriors, pick a skill you find useful from this demon!"
As he spoke, the Sea Soul Staff emitted a flash of demon light, and the last strand of red smoke was absorbed completely, with the system prompt chiming:
——System Prompt: The Nasir Ancient Tree Fortress has successfully absorbed the refined Abyss Lord’s soul, increasing durability by 10000, attack by 50, defense by 50, and damage by 50. It can acquire the Abyss Lord’s skills: War Trample, War Charge, Frenzy Attack. Please choose one skill to learn!
——War Trample: When titan-sized creatures move, they generate huge shockwaves damaging nearby enemy troops. (Note: The Ancient Tree Fortress already has similar trample attack skills, learning this skill will enhance the effects of the trample attack.)
——War Charge: Increase speed to charge forward, causing substantial damage to all enemies along the charging route.
——Frenzy Attack: Initiates high-frequency, high-damage attacks at the expense of stamina.
...
At this moment, the entire scene erupted with cheers: "It succeeded!"
Da Fei was filled with joy and surprise: "So that’s the effect of devouring demon souls! You can even choose which skill to learn?"
Nasir declared proudfully: "Wrong! The reason you succeeded is because you encountered me; the reason you can choose skills is because you encountered me! It is because I possess the wisdom and ability to determine my own growth, which is essential and fundamentally different from those superficial Necromancers relying on luck — so do not consider this specific success as experience to be replicated —"
At this, Nasir burst into laughter: "But I must say, this growth has given me a taste for pleasure, and I hunger even more! Warriors, if given the chance, take me to a place abundant in demons!"
Da Fei suddenly understood! After all, it’s because he was once a very wise ancient tree! What this means is that he is worth investing in greatly!
A place rich in demons, naturally requiring strong group battle abilities! Da Fei, filled with happiness, immediately decided: "Alright, let’s learn War Trample then! Let’s enhance the trample effect all the way!"
Tamilia was delighted: "Indeed, wise Nasir, since your success is only a special case, not to be considered an experience to be shared, can you give advice on absorbing the Hydra Soul?"
Nasir was evidently in good spirits: "It’s very simple, the Hydra soul is actually composed of nine shallow and weak wills. To absorb it, you must identify these 9 wills, and then absorb them separately in 9 batches. If you can’t do that, don’t attempt it; its wild soul power isn’t something you can manage in one go."
Tamilia and Selvia immediately thanked: "Thank you Nasir for your guidance!"
At this moment, Da Fei suddenly realized something! Perhaps it’s not entirely that his vice-heroes became smarter, but that Nasir was guiding them? Regardless, it’s good! If absorbing in 9 batches, surely the Holy Vine can manage it right?
Da Fei then asked Selvia: "Can you identify the nine wills of the Hydra Soul?"
Selvia firmly nodded: "The nine heads of the Hydra represent clearly 9 different attributes, I will spend time meditating and sensing them."
Da Fei satisfiedly nodded: "Good, then it’s all up to you!"
It must be said, Selvia is indeed the most hardworking, having to read books and study Soul Devouring; but young people should take advantage of their youth to learn more. Indeed, I’m encouraging myself.
And speaking of places abundant with demons, isn’t that the demon-ravaged Japan Zone? At this moment, Da Fei’s recently calmed heart began to stir again; if he can rush to the Japan Zone in time, it surely will be a delight for Nasir to feast! (To be continued.
