Chapter 1044 - 980: Hijacking Slave Ships and Soul Devouring
As soon as he thought he was about to miss the opportunity to wash away the shame of Japan, Da Fei couldn’t help but feel a pang of frustration. Actually, to avoid missing it would be simple, just change his mind and sell the Hydra Soul, and directly get 1500 Sea God’s Tribute, with some left over after completing the task. But why complicate life so much?
And once the National War Zone opens, there will be plenty of opportunities to wash away the shame, so why rush this moment? With this thought, Da Fei could only sigh with regret.
While he was entangled in his thoughts, Sona came back excitedly: "Sir, I have already rented the warehouse, we can unload now."
Da Fei chuckled and said, "Alright, let’s unload then."
In that moment, the Fishman Gang, who had been waiting at the dock for a long time, swarmed over and the unloading officially began. Curious, Da Fei asked Sona, "What do you plan to do with so many supplies?"
Sona immediately replied, "Of course, I’ll send them back to my tribe and then buy more slaves to distribute."
Da Fei’s eyebrows twitched: "Buy slaves?"
Sona looked around, then whispered, "Sir, are you interested in the slave trade?"
Da Fei’s eyebrows twitched, Sona’s expression was so sneaky, completely different from before! This must be a sign of increased goodwill after giving gifts, isn’t it? As for the slave trade, is there even a need to ask? Wasn’t the Age of Exploration in the 15th to 16th century a time of blood and tears for black slaves!
Da Fei felt his heart tighten, and also whispered, asking, "Is the profit high?"
Sona nodded solemnly, "The profit is extremely high! Especially when you encounter skilled craftsmen, they’re even rarer. Of course, I’m not suggesting you buy because the slave market is already controlled by the Naga Lords. Normal people can only purchase what’s left after they make their selections, and even the number of purchases is limited."
Hearing this, Da Fei’s eyebrows twitched: "You mean you want me to sell?"
Sona shook her head and whispered, "I mean, let you go rob! Rob a slaver ship!"
Da Fei was shocked: "Is that even possible?"
Sona nodded, mysteriously saying, "Under normal circumstances, it’s not possible, because even if you rob slaves, there’s nowhere to sell them since the market is controlled by the Naga Lords. If the stolen goods appear, you will definitely face military and trade sanctions from them. But you are different, you can transport the slaves to the Siren Clan where they are much needed!"
Da Fei suddenly understood and hurriedly asked, "If I attack a slaver ship, won’t I offend the Naga Lords?"
Sona said solemnly: "Yes! Slaver ships are under the protection of the Naga Lords."
Da Fei couldn’t help but feel frustrated: "And you still suggest I rob them?"
Sona said calmly, "I’m just providing you with as many ways to make money as possible."
Da Fei was stunned on the spot! Indeed, he had already prepared to rob. Robbing ordinary rogue pirates is robbery, robbing Naga Lords is robbery too. To make a fortune, of course, you rob the fattest one! Actually, before coming to the Eastern World, my plan was to rob, and the target was to directly rob the Sea God Temple!
Da Fei regained his senses and asked, "If I rob a Naga Lord, will I be attacked by the entire Naga Empire? Will it cause my trade certificate to become ineffective?"
Sona seriously said, "No! You will only be punished by the Naga Lord you’ve robbed! However, for ordinary people, provoking any Naga Lord is not possible, but you are clearly not ordinary, you have the capability! Of course, although you won’t be attacked by other Naga Lords of the empire, it will affect your reputation and make other lords wary of you. But never mind, once you gain a foothold through the robbery, massive wealth, then slowly mending relationships is possible."
Da Fei was shocked, why does she sound so reasonable!
At this moment, Da Fei was excited: "So, which Naga Lord’s slave business is the richest?"
Sona said solemnly, "Of course it’s the Thunder Spear City Lord I just mentioned, his city’s population of 50,000 humans are actually all descendants of slaves."
Da Fei was startled: "If I go to war with him, wouldn’t I have nowhere to sell my wine?"
Sona sneered, "Just sell the wine first, and then start the war, isn’t that right?"
Da Fei was again astonished! A strong sense of trickery hit him, are you sure you’re assisting me and not scheming against me? I’m planning to long-term maintain my wine sales with him!
Sona reminded, "Sir, trading with the Thunder Spear City Lord is definitely not as pleasant as you imagine, perhaps your first batch of wine will sell well here, but after the second batch, there won’t be such good terms. Traders who have tasted the first sweetness come from afar only to find the price is much lower than expected. But having come all this way, they have no choice but to sell at a low price, thus allowing the Thunder Spear City Lord to make a huge profit."
Da Fei felt his heart skip a beat, so there’s such a trick, trading does have such a big pitfall!
Da Fei could only sigh: "Then who’s the second richest lord?"
Sona oh-ed and said, "The second richest are three, but together they are only equivalent to the share of the Thunder Spear City Lord, because the Thunder Spear City Lord has close dealings with the land Beastmen, his slaves come from the Beastmen there, and every so often, large slave ships arrive here from the Beastman Kingdom."
So that’s it! Indeed, the Beastmen’s special facilities also have a slave market, these Beastmen have even taken their business to the sea, this is laying low to make a fortune!
Just as Da Fei was pondering, Selvia shouted: "Success! Another ghost ship has been born!"
Catherine was even more joyous: "Great, thank you so much, Miss Selvia! From now on, let’s rename this ship Golden Spear Flying Fish!"
Da Fei quickly turned his head to look, and sure enough, the Golden Spearfish, which had been teetering on the brink of collapse just now, was gone. A brand new, silver-white ship was born floating on the water! Since the Golden Spearfish was not Da Fei’s ship, he couldn’t check its attributes, but without a doubt, it’s definitely a super-fast ship!
Da Fei couldn’t help but feel invigorated, "Alright, Miss Sona’s proposal I will consider it carefully, now we should set off!"
...
Star Command Center. Eternal Star, Old Jiang, Bu Feiyan as well as key members like Uranus and Neptune are discussing fervently. The topic is, of course, the selection of candidates for the Japan Zone’s battle.
Actually, both the China Region and Korea District share the same view on this matter, which is to definitely go to battle, but never send the national war main forces. So the choice of personnel is quite particular. However, Bu Feiyan must participate; she is the face of Star, the spokesperson whose presence surpasses thousands of slogans.
The tricky part is the stance of the American Zone and the European Union Zone. Especially the American Zone, they must also receive the task of supporting the Japan Zone, but the problem is the existing relationship between the American Zone and the Japan Zone makes their position quite ambiguous, with a significant possibility of siding with Japan Zone.
If the American Zone stands with the Japan Zone, then there’s even more reason to worry about the European Union Zone. Not to mention the current collaboration between Japan and the European Union Zone in Divine Punishment City. This means China and Korea sides will face two powerful opponents dragging them down, which is very problematic, and almost entirely without a chance of winning!
After discussing various unfavorable factors, Old Jiang sighed deeply, "Feels like there’s a sense of impending defeat, doesn’t it?"
Uranus sighed, "One of life’s three great illusions is the feeling that you’ll win, but if you feel like you’ll lose, then you really will lose!"
Eternal Star waved his hand, "We don’t care about winning or losing, just about nauseating the Japan Zone a bit more."
Bu Feiyan laughed and sighed, "If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be great if Da Fei could join the battle?"
Uranus laughed heartily, "Yeah, if he could join — this is a world-class troublemaker! Even the Americans would be crazy with frustration, right?"
Neptune nodded, "Honestly, he traveled to the Eastern World at an unimaginably fast speed, obviously discovering a shortcut like the Divine Domain Space near the North Pole. If he can complete the task in the next day or two, registering for the task isn’t impossible."
Eternal Star sighed, "Though we don’t know what his task is, let’s provide as much convenience as possible for mutual benefit. Let’s speed up Skyshattering Thunder’s progress, try to buy up all the fine wines from the surrounding towns."
"Understood."
...
At this moment, Da Fei’s fleet is heading towards the Lighthouse Islands, and this time, the fleet is basically empty. Indeed, Da Fei is ready to engage in risk-free trade.
In Kingdom Territory, looting player or NPC convoy’s goods is useless because without the purchase list of looted goods, even if you take them, the trading post won’t accept them. This measure essentially eliminates the possibility for red-named players to get rich by robbing merchant players.
But it’s clear that’s not the case in this Eastern World, where it’s a paradise for pirates and fugitives, provided you have the strength.
Now Da Fei gazed at the vast sea surface between the islands, his mind unable to calm for a long time. Indeed, the matter of robbing the slave transport ship as suggested by Sona made Da Fei hesitate.
It’s not that Da Fei fears he can’t win, but whether there is truly a need to go that far? Isn’t it better to peacefully trade, idle around reading books like relaxation? In this way, sleeping while idling is also secure.
At this moment, Selvia and Deirdre came over, Selvia exclaimed excitedly, "Captain, through the experiment just now, I really grasped the method to extract the soul from the Sea Soul Staff, and without having to make a Ghost Ship."
Da Fei nodded indifferently, "Alright, alright, and then?"
Selvia’s brow furrowed, "This means I can also extract the two Demon Souls from the Sea Soul that can’t be used for shipbuilding!"
Da Fei asked in wonder, "Extract them for what purpose?"
Selvia replied solemnly, "Eat them! That’s the legendary Soul Devouring!"
Soul Devouring!? What plot has been triggered now? Da Fei exclaimed, "What does this mean?"
Deirdre approached and said, "It naturally means consuming powerful souls to enhance one’s abilities. Necromancers grow in this way, and some Soul Eaters grow this way too."
Da Fei asked in surprise, "Who gets to eat them?"
Tamilia appeared and said, "Nasir Ancient Tree! He hasn’t consumed Demon Flesh for a long time, and after the battle in Devil Sea, his stamina was greatly depleted. Although Earth Dragon’s Heart supplements his stamina, he clearly isn’t happy. Maybe we should try letting him consume that demon soul which Lord City Lord doesn’t know what to do with?"
Whoa! You’ve become more high-end! Da Fei asked again in shock, "What happens after consuming?"
Tamilia answered solemnly, "Then we can try if our Flying Holy Vine can devour the Hydra’s soul! Only in this way can the Holy Vine truly integrate the Hydra’s powers!"
Da Fei was so shocked that his jaw dropped! Whoa, even she set her sights on the Hydra of mine?
Da Fei was shocked to the point of numbness, "The Holy Vine can eat souls? Why did you think of devouring the Hydra’s soul?"
Tamilia sighed, "Because I’m worried that Lord City Lord would sell the Hydra’s soul! I think the biggest value of the Hydra’s soul should be used in the Flying that has already consumed the Hydra Blood and Flesh. Although it’s uncertain, I think we shouldn’t miss this opportunity!"
Da Fei immediately understood! True, no matter what the Hydra soul is used for, it feels like a loss, but using it to further enhance the Flying, I’m definitely all for it! Okay, hurry and use it, no more hesitation!
Da Fei determinedly said, "Alright, then let’s eat! Start experimenting with the Nasir Ancient Tree?"
Tamilia and Selvia cheered, "Exactly!" (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please read on m.qidian.com.)
