Chapter 1030 - 969: Turn the Tables in One Move
The strategy to defeat the enemy army was instantly devised, but the specific operational details were indeed a bit troublesome.
First, who stays on the Jade Dragon to fire the cannon? It must be Captain Selvia. But this involves a problem. If one person stays behind, and the system determines that our forces aren’t wiped out, what if they’re cautious and refuse to approach the ship, instead bombarding from the outside?
Then there’s only one solution: even Captain Selvia has to retreat. Except for the troops that died and don’t have time to resurrect, everyone who can move will retreat to the Flying. Let the system directly prompt that I failed the battle and fled, executing a complete evacuation!
Then, under the monitoring of the Blood Eagle, once the enemy army approaches the battleship, even if it’s not all of them, at least half, the Flying will immediately teleport back. Then Selvia will return to the ship from the teleportation array on the ship and activate the Plasma Cannon to blast the entire field!
However, there’s another critical issue. Once I, as the commander, leave, the remaining fleet will lose my God-level Navigation bonus. How can they withstand the wind and waves? Maybe they won’t even wait for the enemy to approach before sinking in seconds?
Anything is possible when the system is being tricky. Should I take this gamble? Or just confront the enemy directly?
In that instant, Da Fei hesitated once again.
At this moment, Renior suddenly spoke: "Warrior, do you have a strategy?"
Da Fei was taken aback, then frowned, "There’s a decoy plan that might annihilate the enemy army, but it’s very risky."
Renior responded, "A plan to annihilate the enemy army is undoubtedly the best. I can certainly reduce your risk; now it’s my turn to act."
Da Fei was suddenly delighted, "What strategy does the Old Captain have?"
Renior said seriously, "My special skills not only can enhance the fleet but also can maximize the special skills of the ship’s equipment. My weapon is the Skira Ship’s Figurehead mounted on the ship, and I happened to absorb the divine power of Skira’s avatar, making me adept at using it. As long as the enemy approaches, I’ll exert full effort to achieve an effect comparable to Dragon Power!"
Da Fei was internally shocked. He had this move?
— Six-headed Sea Demon Ship’s Figurehead: S-grade treasure. Mounted on the bow of a large ship, it can effectively deter Sea Monsters, instilling fear.
That’s right! This is the long-lost Six-headed Sea Demon Statue. Last time, it relied on the Absolute Misfortune effect of the lucky Gold Coin to invoke fear every time, playing a remarkable escort role in the Nether Sea! Yes, you can’t confront NPC forces without NPC assistance. It’s time for the Old Captain to step up!
Da Fei was overjoyed, "As expected of the Old Captain!"
Renior continued, "As for the wind and wave issue you are concerned about, I’m sure it’s no problem, and it’s certainly no problem for the Jade Dragon. As for the Golden Spearfish, that’s a sacrifice we must make in war; let’s leave it to fate."
Da Fei nodded, "Indeed. Then I’ll implement the plan, and the Old Captain will stay to lure the enemy!"
Renior said solemnly, "Then let’s begin. Even a warrior with countless victories may not be able to afford the price of one failure. Give it your all!"
That’s right. He’s right. The point of flying is not how high it can go but whether it can land safely! Surrender? Failure? I won’t allow it!
Da Fei gritted his teeth and waved his hand, "All troops assemble, retreat!"
Now, the troops on each ship and NPC dancers are working hard to overcome the effects of weakness, assembling first on the Flying using the teleportation arrays between ships. Da Fei finally realized how convenient the 20 million Gold Coin teleportation array is at critical moments.
Meanwhile, the Dark Tide Army was already nearby, surrounding Da Fei’s fleet. Only then did Da Fei realize that these rays were even larger than they appeared from the sky, and their mouths and tails were sparking with electricity, exuding a formidable presence. Undoubtedly, like electric eels, nobody would dare to fight them at close range in the sea. Not to mention the Naga Mage on their backs, forming an impeccable combination of long-range and close-range attacks, truly worthy of the Temple Army.
All right, your reputation alone intimidated me. I never intended to engage directly with you guys. Bye-bye!
The Flying flashed with demon light and disappeared! The next moment, the Flying reappeared in the distance from the enemy army. It continued teleporting, disappearing and reappearing. At this moment, the radar and vision finally lost sight of the enemy army. No, the Blood Eagle was still on-site, still monitoring the enemy!
Evidently, in that instant, the enemy was lost! And at that moment, the harsh system prompt sounded:
— System Prompt: You have fled the battlefield! Battle failed, you gained experience +1.27 million, suffered incredibly heavy losses, lost the Chamber of Commerce’s ship Jade Dragon, Radiant Wings, and related cargo 2450 units, lost rare mineral Deep Sea Ice Crystal Stone 167 units, and Chamber of Commerce reputation -560,000! You lost the fleet ship Golden Spearfish.
Da Fei’s eyelid twitched in shock. Damn it! Deduct 560,000 Chamber of Commerce reputation! Although Da Fei was prepared to sell out with a nonexistent city plan, he still couldn’t help but feel shattered when the tricky system prompt appeared!
Even though I’ve won so many battles that didn’t earn Chamber of Commerce reputation, losing one battle, and clearly a tactical "fake fall," the system mercilessly deducted so much. The Chamber of Commerce’s hard-earned positive turnaround is now back to negative!
At this moment, Catherine woodenly said, "No Chamber of Commerce can afford the cost of losing a giant ship."
Sure enough, it’s the ship loss causing trouble! Seems like I can’t play this move anymore. Da Fei sighed, "Given the situation, we must win this battle."
And Da Fei’s massive loss was the enemy army’s enormous gain, facing such a huge bounty, the enemy army cheered!
As Da Fei expected, all the enemy troops completely relaxed their vigilance and immediately gathered to receive the spoils! The empty city strategy succeeded smoothly and brilliantly! At this moment, Da Fei trembled with excitement!
And just then, the Naga Hero waved his hand again, dispersing the dark clouds above the fleet. A vast of sunlight poured down from the clouds, and the small area of sea covered by sunlight immediately became calm and quiet, the waves ceased!
At this moment, Da Fei was stunned! He finally understood what a terrifying opponent he was facing! But what were they doing? Were they afraid that the giant waves would sink the spoils?
Now even the wind and waves had calmed, wasn’t this the perfect time for Selvia to play his music to the fullest? At this moment, Da Fei was moved to tears!
Throughout history, the famous battles using spoils as bait are countless. I must be like a military strategist now. If even this can’t be won, then it’s fate!
Da Fei raised his right hand high and shouted excitedly: "Prepare for teleportation! Can we directly teleport in one go? Preferably directly to the opposing hero’s side!"
Tamilia immediately replied, "We can, but we’ll need to use all the Charging Crystals and the Holy Vine’s reserve energy! Once used, the Flying will have no energy left for teleportation."
Da Fei gave orders excitedly: "All in, this is the moment where success or failure will be determined! Selvia, get ready at the teleportation array and take over firing the Jade Dragon and continue playing music! Deirdre, once the battle starts, use the Curse Artifact again without permission! Anlicia, use whatever tricks you have! Elena, blast anyone you see!"
"Got it!"
Indeed, the effect of the Curse Armor is that it can only be used once per battle. Now it’s a new battle, and it can be used again! And from the last battle, the Curse Armor still has two layers of curse effect left on the enemy army, which can continue to stack up!
At this time, in the Blood Eagle’s vision, hundreds of stingray troops approached the fleet completely unguarded, just within the range of the Plasma Cannon!
But Renior didn’t move! Da Fei didn’t move! Closer, even closer, a little more! Old Captain, why are you able to hold your composure so well?
Just then, the Radiant Wings’ ship’s figurehead flashed a black light, and a black shock wave instantly erupted and spread throughout the scene!
This is the moment we were waiting for; there’s no time to see the effects clearly, Da Fei suddenly waved his hand: "Attack!"
The Flying flashed with demon light and disappeared! In the moment of switching scenes, the darkness felt like an eternal night in Da Fei’s heart! Da Fei knew, regardless of whether the Old Captain’s skills succeeded, as long as this moment held the enemy’s attention, he could deliver hundreds of tons of damage instantaneously and stage a comeback!
In the next moment, the Flying appeared! In front of Da Fei, red light exploded, and a vast row of system prompts flooded the screen!
——System Prompt: You have encountered the Dark Tide Temple Guard Army, the battle begins!
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Deirdre uses Curse Armor curse special skill...
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Anlicia casts God-level Magic Mist Technique...
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Elena uses God-level Destruction Technique Magic Big Ice Seal Skill on enemy hero...
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Selvia successfully recaptured the Chamber of Commerce’s ship Jade Dragon!
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Selvia initiates Jade Dragon’s special skill Plasma Cannon, consuming 2500 points of Jade Dragon’s reserve energy...
In this instant, a large mass of curse black light descended from the sky, a massive fog arose, and a huge frost accompanied by ice pillars fell from above! Then the Jade Dragon flashed electrically, and amid the thunderous roar, an arc swept the entire field, and Da Fei’s view was filled with white light! His ears echoed with explosions!
Then, the next moment, Selvia’s music blossomed resoundingly! At this moment, Da Fei couldn’t see anything, he could only stare at the system information panel intently!
——System Prompt: Jade Dragon’s Plasma Cannon activated, dealing 2500 points of damage to all enemy units on the field and applying paralysis and stun effects to all enemies, duration unknown!
——System Prompt: Your Divine Artifact Dragon King’s Crown special skill Dragon Majesty activated, causing all enemy troops to fear, unable to fight, duration unknown!
They all hit! All of the enemy’s big moves, all the curse, stun, paralysis, fear effects were all successful! Was this a matter of one second or two seconds?
And just then, another explosion rang out!
——System Prompt: Your Vice Hero Elena uses God-level Destruction Technique Magic Great Fragmentation Technique on the enemy hero, enemy hero Dark Tide Priest Sona was killed! The enemy lost their commander, entering a state of fighting on their own!
The enemy commander was decapitated! I’ve really turned the tables!
Da Fei laughed out loud: "Deirdre, pursue them! Clean up the field!" (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to vote for recommendation and monthly tickets at Qidian’s website at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
