Chapter 1100: Chapter 707: Fleet Engages in Battle
Boarded the deck.
Field artillery was fixed in place on both sides.
These were sold to Bai Xuan by Fang Hao.
The artillery wasn’t of high grade, but it was powerful enough to kill and destroy ship hulls without any issues.
However, compared to the popular artillery, its attributes were still somewhat lacking.
Walked around the deck for a bit.
Entered the cabin, which had shells, vegetables, food, and fresh water.
For the transmigrators, these things could be exchanged, but just in case, they would usually store some on the ship.
To avoid situations where they couldn’t be exchanged, leaving the ship’s crew to die of thirst or hunger.
Finally entered the captain’s cabin.
A large desk lay there, with a chart spread out on top.
A silver platter filled with fruits was nailed to one side of the desk.
It was probably to prevent it from moving when the ship swayed.
A nightstone chandelier hung from the top of the desk, emitting a dim glow.
The entire captain’s cabin still had that pirate ship captain’s cabin vibe you see in TV dramas.
Anjia came running over with Lorrey, tapping across the deck.
Holding onto the door frame, she poked her head in and asked, “When are we setting off?”
*Living on land, they were a bit excited about going to sea.*
“Soon, as soon as we replace the ship’s bow, we’ll set off,” Fang Hao answered while sitting in the captain’s chair.
“Are those people coming with us to sea?” Anjia continued to ask.
“No, they’re Bai Xuan’s people. Once they’re done with their work, we’ll let them leave,” Fang Hao replied.
At that time, it was very likely that the use of the Undead would occur at sea.
*These living creature units would be troublesome at that time.*
Moreover, only these jobs required them; the rest wouldn’t even be needed.
“Oh,” the two replied and ran off again, not sure where they went off to play.
Fang Hao also didn’t stay in the captain’s cabin. He made his way onto the deck, watching the busy crowd.
Soon, the new bow totem was replaced.
“Sir, it’s been replaced,” a sailor came over.
Fang Hao nodded and said, “Great, there’s nothing for you here anymore, go back and rest!”
“Yes, sir.”
The sailors saluted, then turned and disembarked together.
This place wasn’t Bai Xuan’s city but a place by the sea where ships were moored.
After the sailors left, there was hardly anyone left, just the empty shoreline.
Fang Hao had Lorrey climb the watchtower to look around and found no suspicious signs.
He then directly opened the ‘Gate of the Worlds.’
A huge, ancient stone gate opened, revealing a dense army of white skeletons on the other side.
Only this time, it was different from the last.
Looking at it, there were all sorts of skeleton marine units.
“Beiyehu, Gulrukubagu, and the rest of you, all come out,” Fang Hao said.
Two heroes waiting on the other side immediately stepped out.
At the same time, about two hundred ‘Skeleton Wyrm Guardians’ came out as well.
“Sir,” the two heroes, one large and one small, saluted Fang Hao.
“Okay, Gulrukubagu, take your men and drag the ship into the sea, and let’s set off immediately after,” Fang Hao instructed.
“Yes, sir.”
Fang Hao and his group boarded the ship, while the ancient blood god servant ‘Gulrukubagu,’ at nearly ten meters tall, looked even larger than the ship.
With over two hundred Skeleton Wyrm Guardians in tow, they manually pushed the sea vessel from the shore into the sea.
Some of the Wyrm Guardians got on the ship while others followed the ancient blood god servant, swimming along with the ship in the water.
*According to the Sea Tribe or mermen, they would also have stamina.*
*In the water, they couldn’t follow ships over long distances.*
The undead, however, had no such notion; fatigue was never a concern, which was the characteristic of the undead.
…
The ship sailed with the wind.
The speed wasn’t slow; it even felt faster than a horse carriage.
Fang Hao and Demitrija stood on the deck, while the pirate origin ‘Beiyehu’ was at the helm in person.
Anjia and Lorrey climbed to the top of the mast’s ‘watchtower,’ holding a monocular, continuously scanning the surroundings.
Fang Hao opened the map to confirm their location.
The map shared with him by Bai Xuan marked the location of the treasure map.
He had specifically been reminded about the potential enemies they might encounter.
The first was the little devils; they had also obtained the location of the treasure map through some means and were searching for clues.
Their fleets had already had a confrontation.
The second enemy was the mermen in these waters.
According to the Federation’s map division, the treasure map’s location was called the ‘Thornfin Sea,’ which was a large merman habitation area.
Whether merchant ships or official ships, human clan or Sea Tribe, they would all actively avoid this area, fearing to cause themselves unnecessary trouble.
“There’s a fleet ahead.”
“More than twenty ships!”
On the watchtower, Anjia and Lorrey each shouted, their intel complementing each other.
Fang Hao immediately looked into the distance, faintly seeing some small black dots ahead.
*If they hadn’t said anything, he wouldn’t have noticed even if he saw them.*
He immediately took out his monocular and looked again, finding that they were indeed sea vessels similar to the Queen of the White Sands.
On the side of the sea vessels was printed the emblem of the Sea Tribe.
Sea Tribe’s?
“Haber’s fleet had already set off; why are they still here? Aren’t they going back to support?”
He set out later than Haber, considering this time difference.
The Sea Tribe would return to support Giant Claw Island, saving him some trouble.
*But it seemed things weren’t going as planned.*
*Why hadn’t these Sea Tribe vessels left?*
*It shouldn’t be like this!*
Through the monocular, he continued to observe. In the next moment, he saw people on the deck opposite also looking over with their own telescopes.
Transmigrators…
They were transmigrators, and judging by the people poking their heads out from the railing, no Sea Tribe member was to be seen.
It seemed the Sea Tribe might have gone to support, leaving these transmigrators behind.
“The opposing fleet is approaching,” Anjia shouted again.
Fang Hao nodded, “Let’s approach them too. Prepare for battle.”
…
On the Sea Tribe-emblazoned vessel.
“Hey, hey! A lone ship dares to come out?”
“Hurry, don’t let him escape; hopefully it’s a fat sheep for the taking.”
“I guess they’re here to scout out the treasure map, don’t let him get away.”
“Can you identify which ship it is?”
“Seems like it’s the enemy’s flagship; I recognize the flag on the ship.”
“Is this a suicide mission?”
“Hurry, approach them… capture them alive.”
The once-quiet fleet suddenly bustled with activity.
The channel buzzed with intense discussion, and the entire fleet began to change directions, aiming to close in on the one single sea vessel.
…
“They’re coming, they’re coming, quickly, load the shells,” Anjia called out as Lorrey hugged a cannonball and loaded it into the muzzle.
She simply aimed in the direction, lighting the fuse without much precision.
Boom!!
The cannon spewed fire, but the cannonball only made it halfway before splashing into the sea, creating a wave.
A shot with no lethality still startled the people across.
*They thought this side might have replaced the artillery with something new.*
At the moment the cannon sounded, they had ducked down.
But upon seeing the cannonball fall halfway, they stood back up and laughed loudly.
“Stop messing around,” Fang Hao remarked.
“How are we going to fight?” Anjia lost interest after missing one shot.
Lorrey also widened her eyes, waiting for Fang Hao’s next plan.
*For these two, going out to sea with Fang Hao didn’t raise any concerns about danger; it was more like a sightseeing trip.*
“Of course, we attack,” Fang Hao said as he moved to the ship’s side railing and opened the Gate of the Worlds.
Seeing the dense array of skeleton soldiers.
Fang Hao continued, “Throw out the ‘Bottom-Dwelling Giant Fish’ and ‘Sawfish.'”
The skeleton mermen behind the gate immediately took action.
They hauled the ‘Bottom-Dwelling Giant Fish’ and ‘Sawfish’ to the gate and tossed them into the sea with splashes.
On land, these fish bones couldn’t move, but once in the sea, they instantly became agile.
Swimming as they wagged their tails.
Beginning to move forward alongside the ship.
The ship’s speed increased significantly.
As the gate closed, the sea around the ship was already teeming with shadows.
Fang Hao stuck his head out and said, “Destroy the fleet ahead.”
Swoosh!
The moment the order was given, the sea surface suddenly surged with waves.
Swarms of shadows rushed forward.
The rocking ship caused everyone on board to stagger.
“Sir, do you need me to go over?” The ancient blood god servant poked his gigantic head out of the water.
“No need, these small matters are fine for the ordinary units,” Fang Hao replied.
“Yes, sir.” Saying that, the ancient blood god servant once again submerged underwater.
Fang Hao turned to look at Anjia, who had already climbed onto the railing to peer outside.
“Get down, or you’ll fall in and feed the sharks.”
“The sharks are yours; who are they feeding?”
“Still, get down, go inform ‘Beiyehu’ to maintain a distance from the opposing fleet,” Fang Hao said, pulling her down.
“Oh,” Anjia agreed, swaying with the rocking of the ship as she walked towards the helm.
…
The opposing fleet.
Everyone frowned slightly.
As the distance between the two fleets closed, they no longer needed binoculars to see the opposing ship.
However, the distance was still a bit vast, and some things were not very clear.
But everyone noticed one thing.
Something whitish had just been thrown into the sea in groups.
Moreover, each piece was quite large.
As they took out their binoculars to get a closer look, the opposing ship vanished again.
“What did they throw into the sea? Did anyone see?”
“Looked like torpedoes.”
“Torpedoes are thrown into the sea?”
“Watchtower, did you see what it was?” someone asked the upper platform.
The watchtower shouted, “It seemed like a lot of fish bones.”
Fish bones?
While everyone was still puzzled, not knowing what skill could spawn a vast number of fish bones out of thin air,
the watchtower cried out in alarm again, “There’s an enemy approaching underwater, be careful below.”
Everyone immediately peered into the water, witnessing the dense black shadows quickly closing in on the fleet.
“Turn around, the mermen are coming, hurry and turn about!”
Wow!
Panic spread immediately among them. *Why were the mermen coming out?*
The fleet attempted to turn around, but it was evidently too late.
Thud!
A deep thud sound rang out, and the hull seemed to be struck by something, tilting to one side.
Thud, thud, thud!!
One thud followed another.
The vessel rocked back and forth like a topsy-turvy doll.
“The hull is leaking, someone come quickly.”
“Patch up the hull, everyone, repair the hull.”
…
Underwater.
A vortex formed by the dense skeletal school of fish.
They circled around above the enemy fleet.
