Chapter 1099: Chapter 706, Queen of the White Veil
The group lifted their heads, and their hearts suddenly tightened.
They saw, directly above them, the massive hull of a ship bearing the human Federation flag emerging from the clouds.
Shocked, fantastical.
They rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
After confirming it wasn’t an illusion, their complexions all changed at once.
“A flying ship? An aerial troop type?”
“I haven’t heard of such a vehicle.”
“Is it the Federation’s? Their planned attack, could it be from the air?”
“Could it…?”
Just as everyone was discussing and guessing.
More and more aerial ships drilled out of the clouds, covering the entire sky.
The expression on everyone’s face was no longer shock.
It was terror, an uncontrollable fear.
If one ship didn’t clearly reveal their purpose.
Then so many ships, all heading in one direction.
There was no need to guess their purpose.
Attacking ‘Giant Claw Island.’
The Federation wasn’t joking; they were truly launching an attack, and they’d chosen this method.
The Sea Tribe’s advantage lay in the sea, not including the airspace above the ocean.
This way, the Federation’s forces could directly attack the island opposite, unstoppable by anyone.
“Quick… Inform the Sea Tribe, and also alert the others on Giant Claw Island, the human Federation is attacking.”
“Return to ship, leave this place, don’t draw their attention.”
“Quick, turn around, leave this place.”
“Keep quiet, quietly leave.”
The deck was in chaos.
Patrol, sinking enemy ships.
Now, roles were reversed, the human Federation held the advantage.
All they could do was pass the message along while quickly and quietly leaving this place without attracting attention.
The ships below started to carefully turn around.
Praying while planning their leave.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, the sound of something tearing through the air above.
Looking up rapidly, they saw a black cannonball falling from the sky.
Boom!
The cannonball plunged into the sea, exploding and sending up waves, tilting the ship to one side.
“Damn it! The cursed Federation has found us, everyone to action, get out of here at full speed.”
“Damn pig-lovers, fire the muskets in retaliation, the ships leave at full speed.”
Screams echoed on the deck.
The helmsman began to steer the ship, attempting to increase the speed of their departure.
And others, pulling out various Dwarf muskets, started to half-squat and shoot towards the sky.
The pop-pop of gunfire sounded densely.
But muskets couldn’t possibly reach the clouds.
At most, they were just giving themselves some confidence, a bit of deterrence to the enemy.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!!
Perhaps the musket retaliation had drawn the attention of the aerial ship fleet.
Sound after sound tore through the air.
A dense shower of cannonballs, like black raindrops, fell from the sky.
Smashing into the fleet.
Boom, boom, boom…!
Cannonballs fell into the sea, raising swathes of waves.
The deck was battered with huge holes, masts were broken, and wood shavings and debris flew in all directions like bullets.
People scrambled, crying and wailing loudly.
After three volleys.
The once-proud fleet had become drifting wreckage.
The disintegrating hulls and crew members were scattered across the sea’s surface.
…
On the aerial ship.
The transmigrators and the soldiers they brought along.
Clung to the railings, peering downward.
Looking at the enemies struggling in the sea, they let out a series of excited cheers.
The cheering waves even drowned out the sounds of the ship’s machinery.
“These dumbfucks, they’ve got what’s coming, wait to be shark food.”
“Exactly, get what they deserve.”
“Don’t worry, they won’t survive. The sharks in the sea are even more sensitive than wild beasts; they’ll feast soon enough.”
“Finally, revenge.”
This was the ocean.
Even close to the shore, it wasn’t somewhere one could swim to relying on human power.
So, unless boats came to rescue them, survival would be difficult.
Looking down at the enemies struggling to survive.
The resentment that had built up in everyone’s hearts for so long was somewhat alleviated.
But this didn’t signify the end, for the aerial ships hadn’t yet reached their destination.
Thud, thud!
Bai Xuan knocked on the command room door.
“Come in!”
Pushing the door open, she saw people gathered around the map inside.
“Commander Haber, twenty-six ships below have all been sunk, not one escaped,” Bai Xuan said proudly, hand on the hilt of her waist sword.
Haber nodded, “Good, since they’ve been sunk, there’s no need to pay them more mind. Inform your people to stay vigilant by shifts, and report immediately at the first sign of danger.”
“Yes, Commander,” Bai Xuan nodded, not leaving but pulling out the Book of Lords to pass down the orders.
Haber, too, began to consult the map, discussing upcoming plans with the other commanders.
The journey to Giant Claw Island required several days.
The news couldn’t be hidden, caution was needed, for potential dangers might arise along the way.
…
Thornfin Sea Area.
Located at the center between the Federation and the Sea Tribe.
It was also the only place that neither side acknowledged as their own territory.
Because this was one of the few gathering places for large groups of ‘fishmen’ in the vast ocean.
Even the Sea Tribe, blessed by the Sea God, dared not tread lightly here.
At this time, numerous ships lingered at the edge of the ‘Thornfin Sea Area’.
But none dared to truly venture deep into the region.
Hirosh lay on the deck, his sharp teeth tasting the food brought by human transmigrators.
The taste was quite good, very much to his liking.
“Hirosh, the treasure map we spoke of is under the waters of this sea area, but we are unable to dive down to investigate,” said a transmigrator kneeling beside him, speaking softly.
Hirosh looked at him and snorted coldly, “I’ve told you many times, this area belongs to the fishmen, unless you can make sure there’s something precious below, the Sea Tribe will not risk fighting the fishmen.”
The transmigrator frowned in thought, then continued, “If we obtain detailed information, might you send troops, Lord Hirosh?”
“With just the force of Giant Claw Island, we can’t fight the fishmen,” Hirosh glanced at him, considering he would have to send these fellows on errands in the future.
He chewed on his food and continued, “Wait a few days. After we get compensation from the Federation, I will bring this matter up with the Sea Tribe’s inner circles. Then, it will be up to you to prepare the treasure’s information and whether you can make it happen.”
The transmigrators immediately rejoiced, “Thank you, Lord Hirosh. These past days, not a single Federation ship has come out. They probably won’t last much longer and will soon propose new terms.”
“Hmph! They just want to drive down the price, nothing new to their tricks,” Hirosh continued.
“That’s right, how can the human Federation compare with the Sea Tribe?”
“The most ordinary faction, with no advantages at all.”
“…”
While some were praising the Sea Tribe and guessing when the Federation would compromise on compensation,
Ding ding ding!
Several transmigrators’ private messages went off one after another.
They looked at the messages.
Their faces changed.
With some panic, they said, “Lord Hirosh, the Federation has attacked the Sea Tribe.”
Hirosh abruptly sat up and looked all around the ship, but there was no sign of any vessels.
Just as he was about to scold them,
The transmigrator immediately handed over the Book of Lords and said, “Lord, it’s not on the sea, it’s in the sky.”
Hirosh looked doubtfully at the item handed to him.
It showed image after image.
Ships flying above the clouds stood out conspicuously.
Hirosh’s eyes also widened in disbelief.
Then, he immediately thought of what the Federation’s leader, Haber, had said, “In three days, the Federation will attack Giant Claw Island.”
“When did this message come?” Hirosh asked with some urgency.
“Just now, it came over as soon as it was sent.”
Hirosh’s expression changed, and he removed a conch from his waist and blew into it.
The deep sound of the conch echoed in the area.
The Sea Tribe members on the ships leaped into the sea one after another.
Hirosh, without time to explain anything, dived into the sea too, leading his people quickly toward Giant Claw Island.
In the blink of an eye, they vanished.
Suddenly, the deck that had been full of people was left with only the transmigrators and sailors.
They looked at each other, some unsure of what they should do next.
“Mr. Uchida, what should we do now?” a transmigrator walked over and asked.
Uchida looked in the direction of Giant Claw Island.
“We can’t help much with Giant Claw Island,” he said. “You all heard Hirosh. To get the Sea Tribe to help us retrieve the treasure, we need detailed information. Let’s stay here and continue to figure out the treasure’s location.”
“Alright, let’s do that.”
…
[Ship: The White Gauze Queen (Purple)]
[Category: Ship]
[Attributes: Defense Level 4, Power Level 5, Carrying Capacity Level 5.]
[Skills: Ram, Quick Start.]
[Accessories: Giant Tooth Shark (Ship’s Totem), White Steel Armor (Ship’s Hull), First-Generation Battle Cannons*6 (Mounted Cannons), Sturdy Sail (Ship’s Sail).]
(Description: A large ship designed and built by Limat Port.)
Looking up at the tall ship’s body, there was still some awe.
Previously, the only time I’d seen such retro-style ships was in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
I never thought I’d have the chance to see one in person.
The sense of awe was even more intense than through a screen.
The ship was called ‘The Limat Sailing Ship’, but Bai Xuan had named it ‘The White Gauze Queen’.
The ship’s attributes reached purple, and while it was made of a wooden structure, it had added protective planking to reinforce the hull.
At the prow was a wooden carving of a shark with exposed sharp teeth.
This ship’s totem, Fang Hao had seen it once in a Sea Tribe shop, boosting ‘sailing speed’ and ‘sea monster deterrent’ attributes.
“Come on, come aboard!”
On the deck, Anjia and Lorrey peeked over the railing, waving excitedly down below.
Their faces were full of excitement.
This time Fang Hao had brought three people with him: Demitrija, Anjia, and Lorrey.
Lorrey had already reached Level 9 and was just one step away from hero advancement.
As for the Sea Tribe’s ‘Beiyehu’ and ‘Ancient Blood Divine Servant’, they were not brought over for now.
The Sea Tribe’s appearance here would easily cause trouble.
They’d be summoned over after setting sail.
Hearing the shouts from above, Fang Hao just waved his hand, signaling he’d be right there.
Then he turned to the sailors nearby and said, “Take down the totem at the bow and replace it with mine.”
Fang Hao patted the totem beside him.
[Fishmen Divine Servant Totem: Ship Sailing Speed +35%, Sea Monster Deterrent +30%, ‘Fishmen Edict’.]
The Giant Tooth Shark totem could, at most, be considered green, while his own was purple.
“Yes, sir,” the sailors immediately got busy.
Fang Hao boarded the ship, ready to explore Bai Xuan’s sailing ship.
