1044 Purple Essence
Mo Jiawei touched his chin with a suspicious look on his face and asked, “What exactly is purple essence?”
Ma Xiaowan coughed and explained, “Purple essence is a special mixture of ores. Our Tianli Mercenary often cooperates with a few large chambers of commerce to undertake the Empire’s business and acquire purple essence. Some large chambers of commerce have the formula to produce purple essence.”
“There is a key ingredient in the formula that requires medicinal herbs from the Cesar Forest, so the Empire will spend a lot of money to buy…”
Hmm…
!!
Why did it trace back to Cesar Forest?
As Ma Xiaowan explained, she raised her hand to signal to the mercenary group’s assistant, Ku Nuo.
Ku Nuo quickly walked up with an exquisite little box.
After he opened the box, a dark purple crystal was seen lying in the center.
“This is the purple essence.”
Although the crystal was as small as a grain of rice, it could be sold for a sky-high price on the black market.
“This piece is too small.”
Harper had once fought against the barbarians on the Empire’s front line, and he couldn’t help but shake his head at the sight of such a small piece of purple essence.
“Unless you can accurately hit the heart of the barbarian in the demonized state, such a small piece of crystal will at most be fixed on the tip of the sword and cause a little trouble to the barbarian race. It will be worn out very quickly.”
Fang Heng’s eyes lit up when he saw the small piece of purple essence.
After waiting for a long time, he finally found something substantial.
“If you don’t mind, how about letting me study it?”
Everyone looked at Fang Heng one after another.
“Sure.”
Ma Xiaowan felt a bit of heartache at giving up the purple essence, but in this situation, her life was the most important.
Although the two necromancers were strange, their abilities were definitely top-notch.
Who knows, he might be able to research something.
[Hint: Due to your friendship with the Empire village guardian team, you have received a small piece of purple essence*1.]
“Thank you,” he said.
Fang Heng didn’t stand on ceremony. He picked up the purple crystal from the box and looked at it carefully.
[Item: Purple essence (small).]
Description: Dark purple crystal, looks very ornamental.
Description: You lack related skills, unable to obtain more valuable information.
Description: You can try to use the skill ‘basic occult’ to analyze the purple essence (this test may cause damage to the purple essence).
Fang Heng kept the purple essence.
He would look for Qiu Yaokang to study it!
…
Outside the village, the zombies transported the resources they had obtained from this trip to a temporary open space. Then, they began to send the corpses of the savage beast to the blood altar in the center of the village as a sacrifice.
Fang Heng and Mo Jiawei rushed to Qiu Yaokang for help.
“Oh?”
Qiu Yaokang was studying the barbarian’s blood. When he saw the live sample Fang Heng brought back, he immediately became interested. He put down his research and walked over to take the purple essence crystal and the sample collector from Fang Heng.
After listening to Fang Heng’s explanation, Qiu Yaokang examined the small piece of purple essence in his hand with a puzzled look on his face and asked, “It can cause great damage to the barbarian race in their Tier 2 state?”
“Yeah, I also think it’s weird.”
Fang Heng shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the zombies that came with him, “By the way, I just got a barbarian’s corpse that could transform into Tier 2. Study it well. I spent a lot of effort obtaining it.”
“Yes, leave the body outside first. The laboratory’s conditions are outdated, so we can only do preliminary research. Don’t have too much hope.”
Without waiting for their response, Qiu Yaokang brought the samples and the purple essence into the temporary research room.
Fang Heng and Mo Jiawei looked at each other helplessly. Then, they turned around and ran to the blood altar in the center of the village.
The altar emitted a scarlet light.
As the zombie clones continued to throw the savage beast corpses into the blood pool, green flames kept rising.
Fang Heng took a look at the cooldown time of the skill of summoning the blood coffin.
Under the effects of the altar, the skill’s cooldown time was left at more than five hours, and it was still accelerating.
Victor was sitting on the grass patch not far from the altar. He picked up the cigarette he carried with him and took a comfortable puff.
The furnace, brick kiln and mixed cement were all completed, so he could take a break.
“Do you want one?”
From a distance, Victor showed Fang Heng the cigarette in his hand.
“No, I can’t enjoy it.”
Fang Heng walked over to Victor, looked around, and asked, “Why don’t I see Sandy? Do you know where he went?”
“He went to the village for a walk. He said it was boring, so he went to chat with the villagers. He said he wanted to understand the cultural background of this world so that he could evaluate the art of this world in the future.”
Fang Heng nodded and stopped enquiring about him.
[Hint: The barbarians have controlled/destroyed 80% of the subsidiary buildings outside Hani City.]
[Hint: The barbarian team is heading towards your village. They will attack the village in 15 minutes. Please be careful.]
“They’re here so quickly…”
…
In the village outside the forest, under the control of the barbarian team leader Ventalita, the dense group of savage beasts roared and swarmed toward the village in front of them!
The barbarian team was almost invincible as they broke into the Empire’s territory. They had already occupied six towns in a row.
Ventalita didn’t even care about these dilapidated villages until he saw the towering city wall in front of them.
Huh?! City wall?
Ventalita felt strange.
“Why is there a city wall here?” This strange thought flashed through Ventalita’s mind.
Hmph! It’s just a city wall!
Did they want to stop the barbarian attack with just this city wall?
Don’t dream about it!
“Charge! The warriors blessed by the gods! Break them down!”
A dense rain of arrows was shot from the sentry tower behind the city wall and into the herd of savage beasts.
The smell of blood stimulated the savage beasts even more.
The savage beasts accelerated to charge!
Suddenly, Ventalita frowned.
What was going on?
The gate of the village in front of them had actually opened?
“Thump!! Dong Dong Dong!!!”
A few tall monsters walked out of the city gate with heavy steps, and around them were groups of humanoid creatures.
Whoosh! Whoosh Whoosh!!
What were those things?
Ventalita was surprised.
The group of Lickers rushed toward the group of savage beasts!
The next moment, the savage beasts at the front of the barbarian team collided with the Lickers!
The two torrents of blood and flesh collided with each other!
The center of the battle was like a meat grinder and the smell of blood instantly filled the entire battlefield!
On the sentry tower, Ao Cang and Ma Xiaowan’s mercenary group were silent, their hearts filled with fear.
This was the first time they had seen a group of undead creatures fighting a group of beasts.
The level of bloodiness was beyond their expectations.
Fang Heng stood at the side with a very calm expression.
The undying effect was almost invincible against a group of savage beasts.
As long as they didn’t encounter any barbarians that had entered the Tier 2 state, this wave of savage beasts would be a lost cause.
Qiu Yaokang followed behind Fang Heng and was firmly guarded by several Empire guards.
