Chapter 1204: Section 1205 Right Eye
By now, Angel had come to understand the terror of that energy.
His body repeatedly collapsed, and each time Angel felt that he could no longer be saved, yet that energy forcefully pulled him back from death’s abyss.
It happened countless times.
Angel was both surprised by the horror of this new drop of blood, and shocked by the energy contained within his body.
It was as if two giants, far surpassing Angel’s own power levels, were initiating a world-shaking battle within his own body.
After each collapse, immediate repair followed, and this cycle repeated many times.
And with each one, Angel felt as if he were enduring the Earthly torture once described by Jon—an execution by slicing.
His flesh was being carved away, slice by slice.
After the slicing, came the itchy sensation of energy repairing. Once repaired, the slicing would continue.
This intense pain even gave Angel the mistaken notion that it would be better to die, but whenever this thought arose, the images of many people appeared in his mind.
Jon, Lyon, Sanders, Toby, Nausicaa… so many, including ‘Shadow’ Diabolo, who had initially been an enemy but later reconciled; the Viking who had lost his limbs at the start of the Purification Garden, yet still stubbornly escaped in the end; Lieutenant Helen who had once sailed with him on the Cloud Conch and later followed Si Man to Shaloo Ridge…
These figures, whether tied to Angel by deep bonds or merely passing acquaintances,
made the world seem incredibly vast and the universe filled with mysteries, each person was vivaciously alive… Just these thoughts alone were enough to intoxicate Angel and make him unwilling to end his life prematurely.
Moreover, there were many things he had yet to accomplish.
Jon’s body had not yet been resurrected, the promise he made to Moro had not been fulfilled, and there were many, many things he wanted to do but had not experienced—how could he just give up on life?
Holding on to these obsessions, Angel endured the agony as if his flesh were being carved out, time and time again.
By the ninth or tenth time, the pain from the cycles of collapse and resurrection gradually lessened. Meanwhile, that previously overwhelming energy inside Angel was diminishing at a noticeable rate.
By now, Angel had finally discovered a silver lining.
The collapse of the body was actually due to an imbalance of inner energy, and during the repeated repairs, the mild external energy not only replenished the imbalanced energy but also gradually fused some of its own characteristics with Angel’s body.
This was a leap transition of the essence of energy.
Because Angel had practiced the “Singularity Scattering Meditation Method,” his magic power was already purer than that from ordinary meditation methods. Now, this qualitative change allowed his magic power to become even more refined and to contain the unique properties of this external energy.
The change in energy was significant, but the greatest change was in his body. This constant breaking and remaking, akin to the repeated forging in alchemy, kept purging impurities and hidden injuries from his body.
And it was not just about remaking; there was also the enhancement of the body from the fused bloodline.
Even Angel himself could not predict how strong his body would become if he were lucky enough to survive.
When his body collapsed again, Angel had already grown somewhat numb to the pain; he calmly awaited the energy’s repair.
This time, Angel could distinctly sense that the external energy had been exhausted.
Probably, this was the last repair.
And that drop of blood had been reduced to just a trace. Unless something unexpected happened, this collapse was likely to be the last.
Indeed, as that drop of blood completely merged into his body, the external energy also dissipated, and the two magnificent giants sheathed their swords in an evenly matched withdrawal.
It might not be entirely right to say it was even; on one side was just a drop of blood, while on the other, energy that was terrifying in its intensity. Although they offset each other, the Projected Bloodline was still, in essence, more superior.
And when that drop of blood disappeared, Angel finally felt which part of the body had been projected this time.
The right eye.
Apart from this time, Angel had received it twice before, and both instances had brought him significant changes. The first was the right palm in Nightmare Witch Town, and the second was the right forearm outside the Wilderness of Dreams.
Actually, both previous instances were on the right hand, so essentially they fell into one category and had effects similar to “spontaneously releasing the aura of the Yan realm,” according to the properties of the Pattern.
This time, the location had changed. And considering the difficulty of the fusion, had it not been for the external energy, he reckons he would have died countless times already.
Angel was eager to find out what changes would take place in his right eye this time?
Angel opened his eyes.
The moment he opened his eyes, a flash of green light darted across his right eye.
Angel’s vision was momentarily blank, feeling countless tiny green patterns imprinting into his mind. Some of the patterns were from his right hand, while others were new.
Angel understood the superficial meanings of the newly appeared green patterns, but their deeper structure was still unknown to him.
The so-called superficial meanings were actually the most basic effects of the green patterns.
For example, Angel’s right hand had a green pattern that looked like a sixteenth note, and its superficial concept was “release,” with the function of continually emitting the aura of the Yan realm. But further study would reveal a deeper structure to the pattern—not only “release” but also a “channel” and a “gate.”
With these new green patterns, Angel could only comprehend their outermost meanings. To understand their deeper implications would require a great deal of time to explore and decipher.
“It seems that these green patterns are the effects brought about by the right eye?”
Angel was about to examine which new green patterns had appeared when suddenly, another message flashed through his mind.
This time, the message was not green patterns, but a long string of memories.
These memories were not Angel’s but… that person’s. He came here from the Nightmare Realm, the battle with the Lord of the Flameless, and the memory of him leaving Angel’s body and killing the Demon God’s True Spirit with a single blow, all flooded into Angel’s mind.
Angel stared blankly at the memories that surfaced in his mind.
He had seen that person before, repelling the terrifying beasts beyond the Wilderness of Dreams. At that time, Angel already knew that his strength was immense. But only now did he realize, it wasn’t just strong, it was incredibly powerful, beyond Angel’s imagination!
In these memories, Angel still didn’t know who that person was and could only temporarily presume him to be “Shava,” Angel’s projection in the Nightmare Realm.
Although his identity was unclear, Angel now understood one thing, his arrival from the Nightmare Realm was not his true form, but an avatar.
Just a mere avatar was capable of destroying the Demon God’s True Spirit, such strength was simply unimaginable to Angel.
Perhaps… it had reached some indescribable level?
After viewing the entire memory, Angel also sorted out the series of events through these memories.
Initially, Popota kept urging him to initiate the descent. However, Angel was deeply reluctant to be subject to the Demon God, but if he didn’t initiate the descent, what was he to do against the Lord of the Flameless?
Angel thought about the “flipping the table” event that happened in the Night Demon City.
After all, this place was the Abyss, so even if the Nightmare Realm Queen arrived, it wouldn’t be the Wizards’ Realm being destroyed.
Angel wanted to replicate that event. If he could flip the table again, maybe there was a glimmer of hope.
But the incident in Night Demon City had some coincidences, as well as the turning point of becoming a Nightmare Realm due to heaven’s time and location, which facilitated that opportunity.
It was not easy for Angel to replicate it.
Moreover, Angel had thought about it himself. From the Nightmare Realm Queen’s attitude, it seemed she harbored ill will towards him. Even if he did manage to flip the table, he probably couldn’t escape death in the end.
If this move couldn’t be used, then what should he do?
Then, he thought of the incident at Wind Whisper Valley.
Back in Wind Whisper Valley, Fafnir was very wary of the green “vine” patterns that appeared behind him, and Angel himself also felt that if he let the green vine continue to grow, it might eventually become a “gate” for that person to come across time and space.
Angel knew who the person behind the gate was.
At that time in Wind Whisper Valley, Angel suppressed the growth of the green patterns, because he did not know what consequences that person’s arrival would bring, and Sanders had more than once reminded him to be careful of Shava.
The other party wouldn’t help without reason, once a certain stage was reached, they would inevitably seek a repayment.
This time, Angel did not restrain himself. Thus, a series of events followed.
Although Angel had fallen into a coma during the battle with the Lord of the Flameless, these memories told Angel what had happened at that time.
After viewing these memories, Angel was silent for a long time, both shocked by the power of “Shava” and also feeling a sense of dread.
He slowly extended his hand, covering his right eye.
His right hand had changed, and so had his right eye.
Perhaps one day, from head to toe, he would no longer belong to himself but to another person. At that time, as Angel’s original consciousness, would he also disappear?
Angel was silent for a long while, only coming slowly back to his senses when he heard Greerwu’s tentative cries.
“Shop owner, you…” Greerwu started to ask if the shop owner knew what had happened.
But when Angel looked over, a flicker of fear passed through Greerwu’s eyes.
That cold gaze was exactly like that person! Even the chilling oppression was the same!
Could it be that the golden figure hadn’t disappeared but entered the shop owner’s body and taken over?
As Greerwu was uncertain, Angel stood up.
He could feel his body becoming incredibly strong, so strong that he still couldn’t control it himself.
He could also feel changes occurring in his right eye.
When he looked at Greerwu, Greerwu was so frightened that his cheeks turned pale, and he lowered his head, trembling.
However, Angel didn’t explore this for the moment.
Because he had another matter to attend to.
The memories that “that person” left him mostly consisted of memory images, the only thing with a subjective opinion was this matter.
With that thought, Angel turned his head to look at the Sparkling Green Tree, swaying in the wind.
