Despite the lack of celebratory red lanterns or marriage candles or rings, Tang Yuyan’s happiness was unrivalled. But right at the moment where she willed to douse herself in bliss, someone had to ruin it. There was someone behind the door.
The footsteps outside had caused the entangled couple to pause their rendezvous abruptly. This almost felt like deja vu, much like the slight taste of pleasure she tasted on the night at Dawang snow mountain. She couldn’t believe that she was getting a second chance. She had only gotten a slight taste, jeez!
As they ceased their wrestling, Tang Yuyan pinned her gaze on the door nervously. While she couldn’t see who was behind it, her training since childhood had allowed her to obtain heightened senses. She was certain that someone was here. But who was it? Tang Yuyan couldn’t tell if it was Tang Bochuan, Zhang Yumei or even Tang Yunhai or Tang Tianlong.
Xia Lei followed her gaze, immediately noting the pacing Zhang Yumei behind the door.
Zhang Yumei had plastered the side of her face against the door in an obvious attempt to figure out what was happening inside. After two seconds of hesitation, she reached out and gripped the doorknob.
Xia Lei frantically got off Tang Yuyan and pulled the blanket over them.
The door opened and Zhang Yumei came into view.
Tang Yuyan was impressed with Xia Lei’s fast response. If he had acted one second later, her mother would’ve caught them red-handed. If she walked in any other time, it would’ve been fine. There would be no trouble other than the expected awkwardness. After all, Tang Yuyan was already Xia Lei’s wife. Unfortunately, tonight’s events were extraordinary. Xia Lei was still supposed to be ‘unconscious’ at this moment.
Though Xia Lei was fast, the man had left behind vital evidence. Their underwears. He had just plucked off her white lace panties and dropped them off the side of her bed along with his. The overlapping of their undergarments was much like their missionary position earlier.
The situation on the bed and beneath the bed did not escape Zhang Yumei’s eyes. Her response was immediate too. “He… You?”
“He’s still unconscious.” Tang Yuyan lied through her teeth. “He hasn’t woken up yet.”
“He’s still unconscious? But you two… ?” Zhang Yumei pointed a finger at the undergarments on the floor.
Tang Yuyan heaved a heavy sigh and conjured up the painful experience she had to endure earlier. Her tears began to pour helplessly. Her tearful voice wavered, “Mother, do you think he’d ever forgiven me? You have all committed a grave sin.”
“I’m sure he’ll find it in himself to forgive you. You’re husband and wife now. He won’t be so heartless. Plus, as long as you hide it well, he wouldn’t notice.” Zhang Yumei walked to the bed, seemingly unwilling to believe in Tang Yuyan’s words. She needed to confirm Xia Lei’s situation herself.
“No! He’ll never forgive me!” Tang Yuyan sobbed. “You…! You stole his AE capsule! He’ll never forgive me for that. I’m doing this now because I really wanted his child…”
Oh. So she was taking advantage of Xia Lei’s unconsciousness.
Zhang Yumei could understand her daughter’s sentiment. She was a woman and a mother. Though her sheepishness was now written across her features, Zhang Yumei insisted to go closer. She lifted a corner of the blanket lightly and saw Xia Lei’s face.
The man’s eyes were still clamped shut but his face was flushed.
Zhang Yumei’s eyes went wide. “Why are you suffocating him?! If something happens to him in the Tang family residence, it’ll damage our reputation!”
Tang Yuyan’s emotions flared. “If you knew of such risks and yet can’t shoulder its consequences, why even do it in the first place?!”
“There’s never free lunches in this world, Yuyan. Everything has its price. From what we can get off Xia Lei, we’re willing to take any risks.”
“You…” Tang Yuyan suddenly went quiet. It wasn’t because of her mother’s infuriating stubbornness that she clamped her jaw shut. There was a sneaky hand underneath the blankets working its magic. Tang Yuyan was worried that she’d sound weird if she went on.
“You’ll understand this someday. Everything we do is for the sake of the Tang family and its descendants. It won’t be long before the Tang family becomes the world’s strongest clan. You’ll have the luck to see the dream come true and when that time comes, you’ll finally understand that all risks were worth it.”
“Mmph.” Tang Yuyan made a noise through her lips, her expression weird.
“So you understand it? I’m glad you understand it now.” A smile had appeared on Zhang Yumei’s face. “Wait it out for a few more days and then go apologize to your grandfather. I’m sure he’ll forgive you. And your father. You need to apologize to your father too.”
“Mm.” Another light hum rolled out of Tang Yuyan’s throat. The woman was biting down hard on her lips now.
“Alright, go on with what you’re doing. After all, Xia Lei’s children are what we want too…” But suddenly, Zhang Yumei was reminded of something. “Is he even able to do anything in this state?”
“Get out!” Tang Yuyan screamed at her mother.
“Fine. Fine! I’m leaving.” Zhang Yumei turned around. She went for the door and spared Tang Yuyan another glance. “No matter what happens, try to get your hands on the will. If you want your grandfather and father to forgive you, the will is more important than anything.”
Tang Yuyan teared up again but her expression was still as weird.
Zhang Yumei sighed. She left Tang Yuyan’s room and closed the door behind her.
As soon as the door clicked shut and before Zhang Yumei’s footsteps were a considerable distance away, Tang Yuyan roughly peeled the blanket away and slapped Xia Lei’s ass. She cried, “My family is bullying me and you’re bullying me too. My mother was here with us and you… !”
Xia Lei hugged her. “You’re so pretty, I couldn’t help but tease you a little. If that was bullying… How about I bully you a little more?”
Tang Yuyan gnawed her lip and then nodded heavily. She closed her eyes and awaited that moment of happiness.
Xia Lei inched forward.
Every second of their consummation night was precious.
Meanwhile, in Tang Yunhai’s study, all three generations of the Tang family men trained their gazes on a tiny item. Their eyes were positively glimmering with excitement.
That little item was none other than the AE capsule they’ve stolen from Xia Lei’s alloy pendant.
What could a small AE capsule bring them?
The three Tang men could imagine an array of outcomes. In their fantasy, the Tang family would eventually become the world’s most prominent and influential clan. A Tang family version of the Thunder Horse Organization, perhaps? No. That was just an initial goal. What they were after in the end was world domination!
The human desire was really absurd. Indulging fully into it would cause one to lose all logic sense.
“I can’t believe this. We’ve got a hold on what the Americans can only dream about! The Tang family’s lucky stars must’ve aligned for tonight.” Tang Tianlong sighed aloud, “We must’ve been blessed by our ancestors!”
Tang Yunhai reminded, “Don’t be too full of yourselves yet. Xia Lei’s current national contribution is unmatched. If he finds out about this, we’ll need to face his wrath and that would require considerable intelligence to counter it.”
Tang Tianlong replied, “If the little rascal agreed to help us, it wouldn’t have to be this way. But she…”
At this moment, Zhang Yumei appeared at the study’s entrance. She spoke, “The girl is alright. I visited her room and we talked.”
“What did she say?” Tang Tianlong was impatient.
Zhang Yumei’s mind was supplied with the image of Tang Yuyan’s constipated responses that came out of tight lips. A faint smirk appeared on her lips. “She agreed to it. Also, she’s… uh… having sex… with Xia Lei?”
“Xia Lei is awake?” Tang Bochuan was shocked.
“No.” Zhang Yumei answered.
“Huh? Then how is Yuyan… ?” Tang Bochuan couldn’t help but censored himself. After all, his family members were in the same room.
Zhang Yumei scoffed, “Are you seriously ashamed to talk about it? Look, you’re no kid anymore. When are you going to give me and your father some grandchildren?”
Tang Bochuan could only feel despair, no longer capable of muttering anything. He had fancied Long Bing but the woman was already a mother to Xia Lei’s child. Worse, not only had Xia Lei married his crush, but he had also married his little sister!
“Quit going off-topic!” Tang Yunhai scowled.
“Father, what Yuyan is doing helps us.” Zhang Yumei went on, “She told me that Xia Lei might not forgive her and that meant a possibility of him distancing away from her. Yet, she wished to bear his child. We all know how smart Xia Lei’s offspring are and they’ll all inherit his evolved genes. That’s why, even if Xia Lei is still unconscious, Yuyan is adamant to… uh… bed him.”
“Hahaha.” Tang Yunhai cackled loudly. “In the end, she can’t change that she’s related to the Tang family. Our blood runs through her veins. She has chosen us in the end. In that case, we won’t be facing a huge risk. It seems that Xia Lei’s only weakness is women.”
Zhang Yumei tried her luck. “She has already acknowledged her mistakes. Please do not trouble her anymore. I hope you’ll forgive her.”
Tang Yunhai replied, “After this is over, we’ll punish her accordingly. To disrespect her elders and break the family’s rules are things that must not be taken lightly.”
Zhang Yumei could only sigh and say nothing else.
Two hours later, a biotechnologist had arrived at the doorsteps of the Tang residence. The man was a biotechnologist working under the Tang conglomerate’s pharmaceutical company. He was highly professional and knowledgeable. Tang Bochuan had arranged for a special flight to bring the scientist to Jingdu and subsequently, their residence.
Tang Bochuan had grown impatient at that point. “Professor Kang, please take a look at this capsule and tell me what it is.”
The biotechnologist, Professor Kang, began to work. He carefully uncapped the capsule and placed it on a precision analysis machine that he had brought with him from the laboratory.
The machine whirred as the Tang family waited in suspense.
“Is this really going to work?” Zhang Yumei can’t keep her anxiety in.
Tang Bochuan answered, “Of course it won’t work. If it worked, America’s AE Research Centre would’ve been able to replicate it long ago.”
“Then why did you summon Professor Kang here?” Tang Tianlong was perplexed.
Tang Bochuan merely answered, “I just wanted an opinion.”
“What do you mean?” Tang Tianlong asked.
Tang Bochuan replied, “Professor Kang will see if we’re capable of replicating the substance. If we aren’t capable of replicating it…” His gaze fell on the capsule in the analysis machine with a burning passion. “I’ll consume it and become someone like Xia Lei.”
Tang Tianlong and Zhang Yumei couldn’t help but lock gazes.
“Hahaha!” Tang Yunhai chortled. “Bochuan, I knew you were thinking of that. In that case, it would be impossible for Xia Lei to get his capsule back. Very well. If we can’t replicate it, you’ll consume it! With this, you’ll be able to bring the Tang family towards glory!”
“Thank you, grandpa!” Tang Bochuan was excited. The man could already taste the AE capsule in his mouth.
But right at this moment, Professor Kang had something to say.
“Uh…”
