Besides the malicious fates competing inside, there were also malicious external enemies.
In this round, five people were eliminated.
Members walking the Evil Road in five teams... because they stepped on special tiles like the Otherworldly Void, Otherworldly Vortex, Memory Backstab, they died right on that tile.
The Evil Road will always fall before the Lucky Road.
This also caused some of Wen Xishu’s "Otherworldly Me" to become abnormally—fragile.
There was one Wen Xishu on the Evil Road who was responsible for offense. With his death, the surviving Lucky Road side only had defensive abilities left, which meant they lost the right to attack others.
If he wanted to win, he would have to keep rolling sixes all the way, and not get attacked midway.
In this way, in Wen Xishu’s eyes, these teams were no longer any real threat.
When the third round began, the game started to lose players one after another.
Everyone realized that besides attacking each other to eliminate opponents, they also had to be wary of the game itself.
The Evil Events on these tiles were very likely lethal.
Soon, the game reached the fourth turn.
In this round, 001 rolled a five.
Moving five steps in a row let 001 and Wen Xishu quickly catch up to the middle ranks.
Wen Xishu, the Lucky Road attacker, this time stopped on a tile engraved with a golden arm.
001’s luck was as consistent as ever.
This tile looked very strong; it was "Outer God · Hand of the Destroyer God."
If from here he could subsequently land on "Outer God · Head of the Destroyer God," "Foot of the Destroyer God," and "Body of the Destroyer God," it would directly trigger the descent of the Outer God and wipe out all enemies on the field.
But anyone who’s played card games knows... this kind of build is the most luck-dependent. It’s true that once it’s assembled it looks insanely strong, but its flaw is that before completion, it’s basically a dead card polluting your deck.
Wen Xishu looked at the shared feed from 001 Wen Xishu, utterly speechless.
Sometimes he felt 001 was actually more suited for the Evil Road. Maybe his luck would bottom out and bounce back.
Of course, 001’s personal strength was beyond question. With or without the Destroyer God, it didn’t matter; he himself was the Destroyer God.
Because the roll was five points, Wen Xishu’s team had entered the mid-pack.
At this moment, 001 launched an attack on one of the teams.
Although everyone’s HP bars were the same, their attack power was not.
Without any buffs at all, 001’s attack directly eliminated Artist Wen Xishu.
Even though the defensive item Artist Wen Xishu drew last round was an Ultimate Shield that could block one powerful strike.
But 001’s attack, while apparently just a basic AA, clearly exceeded the category of a "powerful strike."
Artist Wen Xishu, along with the universe he belonged to, was directly annihilated.
This scene practically stunned all the other Wen Xishus.
Such ridiculous stats surprised Wen Xishu as well. This 001 could be this monstrous in pure physical combat even without relying on a Sequence?
Another Wen Xishu was eliminated, and it seemed likely that in this fourth round, many more Wen Xishus would be knocked out.
Wen Xishu himself also pulled himself together at this moment.
He now didn’t have much room to mock 001’s bad luck; after all, his own luck wasn’t great either.
Or rather, if you walked the Evil Road, there was no such thing as good luck.
The tile Wen Xishu landed on was a black magician’s hat.
When he saw this hat, 001 was puzzled. By rights, this hat shouldn’t exist in Universe 046.
But he quickly reacted—wasn’t this that Outer God... the God of Play from when they faced off against Scorpio earlier?
This tile triggered something that, for 001 Wen Xishu, could be called the ultimate temptation.
He even started nervously swallowing.
[Magic of the God of Fate’s Mockery: This is your chance, your gift. Only those at a disadvantage have a chance to receive this gift.
Do you envy the strength of the powerful? Now you are given one opportunity; you will exchange fates with him, and you will swap your strengths. Of course, there is a price.]
Swap strengths...
These few words were incredibly tempting to Wen Xishu.
This was indeed an opportunity. Wen Xishu desperately wanted to survive, but 001 was too strong—so strong he couldn’t see any hope.
Wen Xishu made his decision quickly—he refused the exchange.
He refused with extreme decisiveness, taking almost only two or three seconds to arrive at his judgment.
This actually surprised 001 a little, and he immediately put away any lingering wishful thinking.
Wen Xishu said:
"Seeing how you just now looked a bit expectant, you must’ve thought I’d ignore those words ’exchange fates’ just because of swapping strengths, right?"
"The greater the temptation on an Evil tile, the greater the price is bound to be."
Wen Xishu’s expression was very complicated at this moment. After a long while, he slowly said:
"This is the most devious God among the Outer Gods. Remember what you just said: the greater his temptation, the greater the price."
"As long as you remember that, you won’t be deceived by him."
The game continued, and the further they advanced, the more the Outer Gods seemed to take the stage.
Many teams, although far ahead, found it increasingly difficult and perilous.
In this round, many Wen Xishus walking the Evil Road died one after another.
In many of the Otherworldly Me’s universes, the power systems were too low, making them completely unable to withstand the variables of the board.
The Wen Xishu he had always thought would be his rival—the 007 Wen Xishu, the Otherworldly Me who seemed to have the strongest decoding ability...
His ending turned out to be simply and crudely being dragged under the ground by a black uncanny hand reaching from beneath the board.
The one who had mastered Witchcraft, the Otherworldly Me who was like a Hogwarts version of himself, was killed by another Wen Xishu.
The battle was intense, and soon the fifth round began.
In this round, Wen Xishu was attacked by other Wen Xishus. He also ran into an Evil Event again, causing his defensive power to plummet...
still let him fend for himself.
But because Wen Xishu’s HP dropped, it triggered his passive ability: geographical advantage.
The Earth Marsh Trapped Beast granted by Sirius, along with Irregular Mutation, made Wen Xishu look like a monster.
On the board, he was practically a freak—like a boss entering Phase Two.
This scene made many Wen Xishus start weighing whether they should continue attacking Wen Xishu; they were worried they’d pay a price.
Once he had geographical advantage...
Even the board itself began to change.
Wen Xishu hadn’t expected that although the version of himself from Universe 046 was weak, he had quite a few cheating tricks.
Their progress on the board started to smooth out, because the geographical advantage instantly changed their situation.
Soon, in the sixth and seventh rounds, 001 Wen Xishu obtained a Point-Doubling Item and a Free-Point Item.
These were practically heaven-defying items, giving him confidence that he could quickly catch up with the teams in front.
In the sixth round, even more Wen Xishus were killed.
In the seventh round, after two consecutive rolls of six, plus doubling for a total advance of eighteen tiles, Wen Xishu and 001 Wen Xishu had reached the front.
Wen Xishu was practically playing with hacks, and even got another Point-Doubling Item.
They surged far ahead, becoming the duo closest to the Central Throne.
Quite a few Wen Xishus shook their heads.
In their own universes, they were the busted ones, the guys everyone suspected had to be cheating if they hadn’t turned off their hacks.
But now, seeing these two Wen Xishus teaming up, they finally experienced what they themselves looked like from a normal person’s point of view.
"How are we supposed to play this... One monster who can alter the board’s tile layout. One attacker who can instakill other defenders..."
"I’m done. In my universe, was I just here to be an extra?"
The Wen Xishus all had mixed feelings inside.
But they were still Wen Xishu; faced with something this difficult, they grumbled, but they were also silently thinking of ways to break the situation.
Correspondingly, their opponents were also Wen Xishu and wouldn’t let their advantage be clawed back.
and Wen Xishu had already pulled away from the other teams, completely exiting the attack range of the other Wen Xishus.
In just a few more rounds, the two of them would reach the Central Throne. In particular, 001 really had collected the Destroyer God’s Hand, Foot, and Head.
All that remained was the Body up ahead.
Wen Xishu and 001 Wen Xishu both felt that... what came next would be the moment of their showdown.
