Even Albert found it incredible, almost unimaginable.
Quickly, this sharp-eyed elder saw an aura of desolation almost as if from a past life in Wen Xishu’s eyes, something that people as young as Wen Xishu should not possess.
And Albert keenly sensed a kind of... solitude.
Only those who have truly lost everything can understand that kind of loneliness.
At that moment, he seemed to comprehend something.
"Little Tree, you’re very tired." Albert’s expression gradually turned solemn, with a hint of compassion in his eyes.
Wen Xishu did not expect to encounter an old acquaintance in such terms in the Otherworld.
He entered the universe 046, meeting Albert from the Bunker era.
Thinking carefully about the journey thus far...
Albert seemed to be the only one who could be considered an old acquaintance.
"I am somewhat tired. I... have experienced a lot, old principal." 001 Wen Xishu smiled, but even his smile seemed weary.
Jabbar quickly came over to brew tea, the familiar fragrance evoking nostalgia in 001 Wen Xishu.
As it turns out...
The world of 046 is so similar to his own world.
Having the Eye of Tragedy, he saw many things. But feeling them truly afterward, he was still surprised.
Other parallel universes seem vastly different, but only universe 046 is almost identical to his own, with merely different event trajectories.
In universe 001, there are also bunkers, also Three Towers, also constellations.
The difference is that 001 is a decisive person. He doesn’t have many friends.
On this journey, the only friend might be the one who sees Albert as a fellow traveler.
But the old principal later also perished in a war.
Albert said:
"I see it, this journey must have been very long. Let me think, did you go to the future?"
"Sort of, old principal, I have a question I want to ask you." 001 Wen Xishu said.
Albert nodded:
"Ask away."
Wen Xishu asked:
"If one day you go to the Deceit Tower, and find many people exactly like you from different universes, and you must kill each other to become the sole survivor, do you think you would mercilessly kill them?"
"Would you have the thought that perhaps another universe is the one worth preserving?"
Albert showed interest:
"The Deceit Tower is as intriguing as ever. This scenario is too amusing, can you elaborate?"
Wen Xishu considered, risking exposure, and decided to try, so he recounted everything he had recently experienced.
Except he hid the presence of 046 Wen Xishu, the true Wen Xishu of the Bunker.
Of course, whether he hid it or not, it couldn’t fool Albert.
The speculations in Albert’s mind increasingly approached the truth. He immediately realized...
His answer might be crucial, undoubtedly, if the strongest enemy is oneself, then Little Tree’s ordeal climbing the Deceit Tower is probably the most terrifying one to date.
But because the enemy is "oneself," it is Wen Xishu, even if from different universes, the foundation is still Wen Xishu...
Therefore, Albert felt he might still be able to help Little Tree. His next words might transcend time and space to save the real Wen Xishu.
The old principal smiled:
"If it were me, I would engage in confrontation with myself of different possibilities, explore the potential of Unity Fist, and experience the satisfaction of various different lives as much as possible..."
"Remember, choosing a line means it cannot be changed. People tend to glorify paths they haven’t chosen, taking this opportunity to feel those paths can be interesting, don’t you think?"
"As for whether I would have the thought that another universe is the one worth preserving, I can tell you very clearly, I wouldn’t."
This answer surprised 001 Wen Xishu.
Wen Xishu had actually speculated... that the old principal might sense that this current version of himself was not the one he was familiar with.
Logically, if the old principal desired to redeem the real self, which is 046...
He might attempt to explain, prompting himself to sacrifice.
Indeed, Albert saw that the Wen Xishu before him was too powerful, not the real Wen Xishu.
And 001 Wen Xishu also deduced that even if he concealed it, the old principal might have seen through him.
Albert said:
"Actually, it’s interesting, if it were a hundred Luo Fengs, a hundred Liu Zhizais... they’d probably calculate against each other."
"But if it were a hundred Evelyns, they might fulfill each other."
"But I am a revenger, I seek revenge. I cannot abandon my world."
Wen Xishu cautiously asked:
"So... I shouldn’t be confused. I should kill them."
Albert said with a smile:
"Of course, maybe other worlds are beautiful, but beautiful worlds are often weak. If I abandon now to fulfill a beautiful world, I might end up harming that world."
nodded in agreement.
He was actually always hesitating whether to kill 046.
The drunken Wen Xishu, 005 Wen Xishu, Pisces... they all seem to hint to him what choice to make.
But ultimately, he is also Wen Xishu, the one who always desires to survive and will not easily let others disturb his will.
At this moment, he heard from the old principal the words he truly wanted to hear.
