"But there’s no time. I think right now, in all the other rooms, the law of the jungle is playing out. I’m not doing that."
This "I’m not doing that" surprised 007 quite a bit.
had even already prepared himself to be killed by the assassin Wen Xishu.
Because the world he was in was also a world that wasn’t all that meaningful, and after a face-to-face conversation with 001, he understood very clearly that the real protagonist of this game was 001.
In the face of such a terrifying power gap, he couldn’t decide how he would survive.
But at the very least, he could decide how he would die.
Obviously, his thoughts were also 098’s thoughts.
Wen Xishu nodded:
"Yeah, if it’s you, maybe it won’t take long before you become just like me."
"So, is there anything you’re longing to say to me at the end?"
stayed silent for a few seconds, then slowly said:
"Please make sure that in this bizarre survival game, ’we’ can achieve the most perfect ending."
"As an assassin, I’m constantly brainwashed, told that I’m a blade, and a blade has to forget itself."
"Among so many ’us’, some of us need to forget ourselves, but some absolutely must not forget who they are."
"The rest is up to you."
let out a soft sigh and turned around.
...
...
One after another, quite a few rooms finished their second-point-five-round task.
There were currently 44 people left in total. In one of the rooms, both were killed.
It wasn’t that the two Wen Xishu were stupid enough to think that, in the "checkmark" segment, the other would endorse their own world.
Even the most naive Wen Xishu would know when not to gamble.
The problem was that neither of the two Wen Xishu had survived the other’s world.
At this moment, the content of the third round of the game hadn’t been announced.
But all the room doors had already opened.
[You will have one hour of free communication. During this hour, you will be unable to use violence and can only communicate.]
[After one hour, each of you will once again be assigned a roommate and begin a brand-new challenge.]
After receiving the prompt, Wen Xishu quickly walked out the door.
Less than half of the hundred of "me" were left; everyone looked quite tense.
All the Wen Xishu were thinking about the same question.
Will the new roommate this time be the same as before? The essence of the game is elimination, picking out the one and only me—this, everyone had already confirmed.
Every single Wen Xishu knew a cruel fact—
Only one Wen Xishu can stay here.
But will the game pull the same trick again?
Starting a brand-new challenge seemed to suggest that the next game wouldn’t repeat the same content as the last one.
But...
Is its essence still to pick out a teammate to be eliminated?
Because in the last round, everyone personally eliminated their own roommate and deeply experienced how cruel the game was, to avoid getting hurt emotionally, they had to become a bit more numb.
And to avoid being the one eliminated themselves... it seemed they had to pick a weaker roommate.
In essence, this one-hour communication was just everyone explaining what their world was like.
At this moment, a Wen Xishu from Universe 091, whose whole body was covered in tiny writing, appeared beside Wen Xishu.
"Hey, man, what’s your world like? Mind if we do a face-to-face?"
Locking eyes could trigger a resonance of memories with the Otherworldly Me. Wen Xishu had already tried this earlier.
He shrugged:
"No problem."
The two quickly began to stare into each other’s eyes.
The world of the tattoo-covered Wen Xishu... seemed to be a gamified world.
In that world, Scorpio was very powerful, far stronger than Leo.
In this world, everyone yearned to break Scorpio’s curse and break through one game predicament after another.
In this world, anyone who wanted to keep living had to earn game points.
Game points were earned by challenging various games and getting points after successfully clearing them.
Points were their lifespan.
A very cruel world.
091’s body was covered in all kinds of strategies; even someone as strong as him couldn’t rely solely on his mind to remember the endless details of countless game worlds.
Wen Xishu found it very interesting. Honestly, if it were just about making friends, he’d be very happy to be friends with this kind of Wen Xishu.
But considering that he might end up entering the other’s world... that was very troublesome.
And the tattooed Wen Xishu, after seeing Wen Xishu’s bizarre apocalyptic Bunker world, immediately shook his head.
"Forget it, forget it, we don’t seem to be a good fit."
Wen Xishu decided to leave.
Wen Xishu had no choice but to look for other Wen Xishu.
But the other Wen Xishu didn’t seem to like Wen Xishu’s world very much either.
During this one hour, Wen Xishu met a fellow-Daoist Wen Xishu from a xianxia world.
But that fellow-Daoist Wen Xishu felt that in the bizarre world, rules trumped Dao techniques, and a gentleman does not stand under a crumbling wall, so he refused to team up.
Wen Xishu also met a wizard Wen Xishu from a Magic world. Of course, wizard Wen Xishu also refused Wen Xishu on the grounds that the bizarre world’s rules were even more absurd than Magic.
Wen Xishu also met an artist Wen Xishu, from a universe where scholars used literature to disrupt the law; as long as you created a powerful work, you could directly gain tremendous power.
The artist Wen Xishu’s reason for refusing Wen Xishu was at least a bit fresh—someone who’s constantly under survival pressure can’t appreciate art.
In short, after sharing memories with Bunker Wen Xishu, many, many Wen Xishu felt that his world had problems and chose to refuse teaming up with him.
Wen Xishu felt internally screwed.
The most popular Wen Xishu, of course, were still 007 and 022.
The puzzle-solving Wen Xishu, although living in a War world, had almost no superpower in that world.
