No one knows how he spent the night in Rokkasho.
Wen Xishu doesn’t know either.
But thinking about it, no matter how casually it’s spoken of... that night, which etched itself so deeply into my memory, must certainly have left a strong impression on the Otherworldly Me as well.
"Adventure is truly fascinating, but after this experience, I’ve realized my world is the best... I really want to go back. I miss my brother."
"By the way, in your world, is our brother very strong?"
"Yes, and quite mysterious."
"But he loves us very much, right?"
"Yes."
The two Wen Xishu’s exchanged questions and answers.
Soon, both fell into silence.
"I wish I could go back... but I seem to be the weakest among all the ’me’s." Blue Star Wen Xishu felt a heart full of worry.
"However, it looks like the two of us will be cooperating from now on, right? Hey, depending on you, I might survive. Of course, I’ll do my best to help you and won’t be a burden."
Blue Star Wen Xishu remained fairly optimistic.
Wen Xishu also wanted to send this "perfect world" version of himself back. He didn’t belong here.
This version is weak, talkative, naive...
But to live in an era that tolerates these characteristics, how fortunate must it be?
He very much hoped that world existed, that Wen Chaohua also existed.
However, he knew this was the trial of the Realm of Hundred Selves, and eventually, among so many universes, only one would remain.
Thinking of this, he increasingly felt the task was cruel.
And at this moment, the second-and-a-half round task began.
It’s called round two-and-a-half instead of the third round because some rooms don’t need to participate.
[Congratulations to everyone on surviving from another ’me’s world. Some have successfully advanced to the third round, while others have failed.]
[Of course, there are rooms where both survived, which is indeed very interesting.]
[I must say, this edition of the survival challenge of the Realm of Hundred Selves has the highest survival rate. However, regrettably, due to the high survival rate, before the start of the third round, I will initiate a second-and-a-half round challenge to eliminate some rooms where both survived.]
[The game rules are as follows: The upcoming game will involve the ’we’s with two people in each room.
If you think your roommate’s world is better, you can give your roommate’s world a √.]
[If you think your own world is better, you can give your own world a √.]
[If both worlds receive the same number of √s, then both will perish.]
[If the number of √s differs between the two worlds, then the world with more √s and the corresponding self will be retained, while the other self and corresponding universe will be erased.]
[The game will start in fifteen minutes.]
The game rules are simple, but even a simple interpretation reveals its malice.
Moreover, the deliberate wait of fifteen minutes before starting... makes the game bloodier.
If the game started now, whoever first gives √ wins.
But the game insists on starting fifteen minutes later. During these fifteen minutes, many things can be done.
Wen Xishu’s mind recalled the question from Wen Chaohua of universe 045:
"My Little Tree... can he still come back?"
This question, like a knife, carved wounds deep within his heart.
Undoubtedly, this wasn’t the most difficult choice Wen Xishu had experienced... in his career.
Once he is no longer lost, he knows how to choose.
But when this rule came out, his heart still wrenched.
This was, without a doubt, the most cruel choice of his life.
At this moment, Wen Xishu, who desperately wanted to return to his own universe, lost the spark in his eyes.
He thought he’d escaped the Deceit Tower, little did he know he was still in it, and at this moment the horrific trial began to reveal its malice.
"You... will you let me go back? Please... let me go back!"
Looking at this Otherworldly Me who not long ago fantasized about both cooperating, living side by side...
Looking at this Otherworldly Me, full of potential, possessing all that he envied...
Wen Xishu’s lips moved; he longed to say something, but as the words reached his mouth, nothing could come out.
Internally, he repeated over and over—this is all fake, all part of the Deceit Tower’s trial.
Yet the moment his eyes met with the Blue Star version of Wen Xishu, he felt countless threads of reality.
"Does my world deserve to exist?"
"Should that perfect world really be destroyed?"
"Wen Chaohua definitely hasn’t given up waiting, has he?"
These questions resurfaced, but corresponding to them, he already knew the answers.
Through the trials of the Deceit Tower, Wen Xishu was always a spectator redeeming others.
Until this moment, he truly wished someone could save him, even if it was another him. Wished this journey could reach a beautiful conclusion.
He had clearly already achieved so many beautiful conclusions, hadn’t he?
Why must the cruelty come when it was his turn?
After dozens of seconds of wanting to speak but refraining, dozens of seconds of dissatisfaction, ultimately became dozens of seconds of silence.
After a long silence, Wen Xishu slowly shook his head:
"Sorry... I can’t deny the past here."
Outside the window chaos continued, inside the room, there were no longer lost individuals.
