There’s no apocalypse here, but there are a lot of crimes.
The public security here might be slightly better than in Gotham City, but not by much.
Wen Xishu, as the younger brother of Wen Chaohua, was likely to become a target.
Wen Xishu’s suspicion was correct.
During this incident, Wen Xishu almost died because the group that kidnapped him was specifically targeting Wen Chaohua for revenge, to torture Wen Chaohua, making Wen Chaohua go through great efforts, only to find that it was all for nothing, and ultimately watch his brother die.
Their intentions were extremely malicious.
This is indeed one of the most sinister things an ordinary person could experience in a world without superpowers.
If Wen Chaohua hadn’t figured out the location in advance, and with Wen Xishu being talkative, constantly making up weaknesses of Wen Chaohua to buy time...
Wen Xishu might have really been killed.
Even so, at the moment of his actual rescue, 045 Blue Star Wen Xishu fell seriously ill and realized how difficult it was for his brother.
But this time...
Clearly, the plot took a different turn.
Seeing these robbers not even bothering to wear masks, Wen Xishu immediately realized they were a group of desperados, not intending to engage in long-term operations and unconcerned with being recognized. They only did one-off jobs.
There were about ten robbers, each armed, clearly a band of heavily-armed criminals.
Chances were high that he would die if captured. It’s undeniable, that 045 Wen Xishu survived, definitely using every trick in the book.
Fortunately, he only needed to take minimal action.
At this moment, among the robbers, a slightly hunched but vicious-eyed, short-haired middle-aged man said:
"One last phone call, give him some hope."
A burly man quickly picked up an old-fashioned brick-like phone and held it up to Wen Xishu’s ear.
"Now you’ll call your brother. Be sensible and know what to say, right?"
Wen Xishu nodded, feigning fear.
Historically, by this time, Wen Chaohua had indeed figured it out and was on his way over.
The robbers had clearly underestimated Wen Chaohua’s tracking ability.
The phone quickly connected, and Wen Xishu heard the voice on the other end:
"Little Tree, don’t be afraid. I’ll come to save you once I get the ransom ready by tomorrow."
Evidently, Wen Chaohua on the other end was also deceiving the robbers. Neither of the brothers was easy to handle.
At this moment, the original 045 Wen Xishu merely replied okay, and the burly man took the phone away.
But now, it’s 046 Wen Xishu.
Wen Xishu said:
"Don’t worry, brother. I’ve dealt with them all. Don’t rush, take your time. I’m not in a hurry."
Originally, when he uttered the first word, the phone should’ve been taken away, and the usual plot was for the robbers to start making threats...
But suddenly, a hand pressed down on the burly man’s hand.
Wen Xishu managed to finish his sentence.
Wen Chaohua on the other end was stunned.
Suddenly seeing a shadow-like eerie entity pressing down on the robbers, they were also stunned.
"Little Tree... are you okay? What are you saying?"
On the other end of the phone, Wen Chaohua sensed that something was off. What was Little Tree up to?
The more Wen Chaohua thought about it, the stranger it felt, prompting him to speed up towards the destination.
Gunshots soon rang out in the abandoned factory.
The gunfire also alerted the approaching Wen Chaohua.
Wen Chaohua’s heart skipped a beat.
He thought of one possibility, his eyes instantly reddened, filled with angry blood traces.
Little Tree probably guessed he was going to die... so he intentionally acted cool by saying those words in the end to prevent him from joining him?
Does the gunfire mean these guys killed him?
This possibility filled Wen Chaohua’s heart with terror, and he wished he could teleport instantly.
Driven by fear, Wen Chaohua and his men frantically rushed towards the factory.
And on the factory side? More than one person was seized by fear.
When all the robbers lay on the ground, and that shadowy figure knocked them all out like a ghost...
They all stared wide-eyed in horror, their eyes radiating a beauty of shattered perceptions.
Wen Xishu didn’t bother tying them up, just intimidating them with a glance:
"Don’t move, or you’ll get beaten."
Initially, a few robbers tried to fight back, pulling out hidden handguns.
But when they saw bullets could retrace their paths back along the firing trajectory and kill the shooters, the remaining robbers finally accepted there were cheaters in this world.
They all surrendered, their hearts filled with immense fear, feeling like it was all a nightmare.
There was a sense that Wen Chaohua had set them up.
Damn Wen Chaohua, your brother’s a superman, why the heck are you even in the police force?
Eventually...
Wen Chaohua arrived with a few elite subordinates.
Originally, Wen Chaohua expected a fierce battle; despite the frantic rush, they immediately switched to stealth mode, hoping to catch the robbers by surprise.
But just as they approached, they heard Wen Xishu’s strong voice not far from the factory:
"Brother, I’m fine, don’t worry, I’ve taken care of all the robbers, you can just come over."
This turn of events caught Wen Chaohua completely off guard. He even thought it was some prank or conspiracy.
But when they used their scopes to clearly see what was inside, they felt like their brains had short-circuited.
"This... Captain Wen, is your brother a warrior wolf?"
The special force officer handed the binoculars to Wen Chaohua, who, after seeing it, was initially surprised, confused about this new script. But soon, his expression turned complicated.
