It’s like when you’re looking in the mirror, you haven’t stretched, but the you in the mirror suddenly does a stretch.
At this moment, Wen Xishu saw himself doing a stretch.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" The startled "me" also got frightened by Wen Xishu at this moment.
"Oh my gosh, did I really see another me?"
Wearing white clothes, barefoot, same height, same face, only the other one’s number is 045.
"Oh... you’re 046, scared me to death, scared me to death. Damn, where’s my phone! Where’s my roadblock! This historic moment, should we get a photo together! I shake hands with myself, no Photoshop, no AI version! I need to frame this when I go back! Hahaha..."
Version 045 of Wen Xishu is extremely excited.
He immediately extends his hand:
"I’m Wen Xishu, you... oh, alright, hahaha, you’re also Wen Xishu, bro, where are you from?"
Wen Xishu was genuinely baffled.
Is this person created by Deceit Tower? Damn, other than the personality, he’s way too much like me! No, not like, he’s basically a replica.
Yet if you insist on finding differences, indeed, there are quite a few.
First, this Wen Xishu’s eye sockets are sunken, clearly indicating a tendency to stay up late, secondly, this Wen Xishu’s arm muscle mass is clearly insufficient. He looks thinner than me.
Wen Xishu said:
"I’m from the Bunker."
"Bunker? Where is that, never heard of it, I’m from Blue Star! Let me tell you, in my lifetime, it’s my first time encountering such a thing! Like something only in novels, but I actually encountered it! Bro went through a summon, said to go to the Land of Hundred Selves, there will be many versions of me in that place! We will go through an adventure together to select the real me, does that sound absurd or what, do I know myself or not?" Blue Star version Wen Xishu said.
Compared to Wen Xishu, this Blue Star Wen Xishu loves to talk.
"By the way, bro, what do you do? Let me guess... Hmm, your vibe seems like you do something pretty serious. Speaking of, the mission hint said, if parallel universes exist, do I fantasize about a more perfect me... Honestly, I always fantasize about living in a novel, being that smart detective solving various bizarre cases, bro, you wouldn’t happen to be like that, would you?"
Blue Star version Wen Xishu spread his arms wide, eagerly anticipating Wen Xishu’s answer.
Wen Xishu thought for a moment and said:
"The Bunker is a kind of... sanctuary for dealing with the apocalypse. I have indeed encountered many bizarre events."
"Whoa! Awesome!" Blue Star version Wen Xishu immediately gave Wen Xishu a hug.
Wen Xishu was very unaccustomed to it, but at this moment, the instant their bodies made contact, Wen Xishu indeed felt a kind of peculiar sensation.
This sensation can probably be described as "as though separated by time."
As if in that instant, he felt a peaceful world, just like before he traveled through worlds. He could hear the cicadas chirping in summer, smell the fragrance of flowers, see the soap bubbles blown by children with rainbow lights reflected in them, and countless perfect reflections in city buildings...
Then, a soap bubble suddenly burst.
That feeling of being separated by time instantly dissipated.
"So amazing! Bro! Or rather, Otherworldly Me! Could you give me a slap? This is just too magical, is this not a dream? When I hugged you just now, I saw feathered, incredibly beautiful half-bird half-human girls!"
"I also saw so many peculiar creatures, your life is my dream!" Blue Star version of Wen Xishu was envious.
Wen Xishu didn’t know what to say, he said:
"Are you... envious?"
Blue Star version of Wen Xishu said with an exaggerated expression:
"Of course, I’m envious, extremely envious okay! Your life is just too cool!"
"I work in self-media, although my work content isn’t too repetitive, but I still feel it’s quite tedious, I often read novels and sometimes think about when I can join in on an adventure."
"My brother is different, he’s a cop, and the kind who investigates unsolved cases, living a very interesting life every day."
"I’ve asked him many times to tell me about cases, he always refuses to mention them, says I should just be a happy idiot. Damn! I’m smart too, ain’t I!"
"Hahaha, if I go back this time, I can brag to him for a lifetime, right! Bro is the chosen one, the protagonist, this kind of experience, he wouldn’t dare to even think about! Hey, hang on, will he think I’m crazy?"
Wen Xishu curiously asked:
"Your brother, he’s not called Wen Chaohua, is he?"
"Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, amazing! No wonder you’re Otherworldly Me, is it the same for you? Your brother’s also called Wen Chaohua?"
Wen Xishu nodded, indeed he didn’t expect, even in parallel universes, he and Wen Chaohua were still brothers.
For some reason, when he heard "just be a happy idiot," it really touched Wen Xishu.
He suddenly thought of the idiot inside him.
Turns out all brothers in the world are the same?
Or is it just that the 045 he encountered is like this?
The eldest brother always hopes his younger brother doesn’t go through such complex events, doesn’t get tangled with any danger or bizarre things.
Just be a happy little fool.
That beautiful world with floral fragrance, cicada chirping, soap bubbles... actually, Wen Xishu was also envious.
But sometimes people are like this, always romanticizing the path not chosen, always thinking... someone else’s world is better.
Blue Star version of Wen Xishu envies Wen Xishu’s adventurous journey, loves the thrill.
Yet he never thought, Wen Xishu repeatedly surviving from deadly situations, what he longs for is that someday, people can live a life like his.
Thinking of this, Wen Xishu felt like the Blue Star version of himself is really somewhat silly. Perhaps it’s that beautiful environment that lets oneself be a happy little fool?
He inexplicably felt a bit reluctant. Because he knows this is in Deceit Tower. He knows there won’t be too many beautiful things here.
"I have so much to talk to you about, by the way, is there anyone impressive on your side! Tell me about them!"
Blue Star version Wen Xishu didn’t feel nervous at all.
Instead, Wen Xishu started observing the surroundings.
This is a closed room, with only one window showing the outside Chaos Domain. There is also a door, but the door is closed.
Thinking about it, this door might not open easily.
He speculated this is a resting place, and once that door opens, there will be cruel challenges waiting for him.
While pondering the current situation, Wen Xishu replied:
"I’m the impressive person here, if I had to say... Leon? Albert?"
Blue Star version Wen Xishu immediately jumped up:
"Ahhhhh, I know both of them! So even in your world, they’re awesome huh? That’s insane! Albert, the old grandfather, is so legendary! This is someone who has lived through many wars, calling him a war god doesn’t suffice to describe him; his existence makes many novels seem unimaginative! But he is far removed from ordinary people."
"Leon is even more awesome, he’s my favorite goat! Can you believe someone can achieve grand slams in soccer, basketball, track and field, cycling, racing, across all fields? This guy definitely has a system! Major magazines say he’s the limit of humans, a product of God who forgot to lower the values!"
"Hey, can I ask you, do you have a girlfriend? I feel like your future girlfriend and my future girlfriend might be the same person!"
"Ah, I don’t mean that we’re sharing wives, I mean just that it’s the same person from another world!"
Wen Xishu found that parallel universes seem to follow many rules, of course, this might be just that 045’s world aligns more closely with his own.
He thought for a moment and said:
"I’m single."
Blue Star version Wen Xishu held his head:
"Ah?, Nooooo!!!"
With such an exciting life, such awesome experiences, being able to solve various bizarre things, and still single? Could it be, is being a single dog my fate as Wen?
Bullet Screens were already appearing in Wen Xishu’s eyes. He really felt... this Wen Xishu is quite funny.
Has a kind of innocence and naivety that he doesn’t have, a bit of a joker, chatterbox, innate trust in others.
All things that are completely different from himself, all things that are nurtured in a loving environment.
Though his bouncing around is a bit noisy, Wen Xishu doesn’t dislike this version of himself.
Except, precisely because of this, he’s even more afraid of what will happen next.
The door suddenly opened.
From the Chaos Domain outside came a voice.
[The first challenge is about to begin, estimated number of deaths: twenty-five.]
Blue Star version Wen Xishu’s face turned pale instantly.
"What’s it... what’s it saying, is it talking about... death?"
