Hujiang has many areas, but currently the most special one is the Fourth District.
The biggest characteristic of the Fourth District is not the commercial prosperity; it is filled with the smell of fish, simply because it is home to Hujiang’s largest seafood market.
Even at the end stage, the Fourth District still engages in trade.
However, the trade has shifted from seafood to "human-animal" trade.
Here lies much evil, with many missing persons found here eventually, after all, the leaders of Hujiang dream of one thing—controllable radiation mutation.
That is, through extensive human experiments, the use of mutated serum to create monsters that meet their expectations.
Recent experiments have actually made breakthroughs. Not long ago, serum sources immune to radiation mutation were even discovered in underground laboratories in other areas.
Unfortunately, that underground lab was suddenly destroyed collaboratively by the leader of Demon Cleansing Monk, Master Lingqing, and a crucial figure from the Demon Cleansing Monk force, Morioka Hitomi. Two important "weapons"—004 and 015—were even lost.
and 015 were essentially beta versions of this technology.
Fortunately, the experimental technology report of that area has been uploaded.
The experiments on population raids in the Fourth District have actually led to new breakthroughs.
This huge trade market in the Fourth District is also something the Demon Cleansing Monks are eager to take down.
But the Fourth District is tough to penetrate.
Because the defender of the Fourth District is the most perfect warrior on the Hujiang battlefield at present—Yellow Springs.
Relying on the bug ability to convert attacks into skeleton soldiers, the Fourth District guarded by Yellow Springs can only be bypassed by the Demon Cleansing Monks.
At the entrance of the seafood market in the Fourth District... there are even stacks of over a hundred heads, all monks’ heads.
All are heads of the Demon Cleansing Monks.
These heads are piled into a small mountain.
Beneath some are spines from which bizarre linear worms grow, clearly indicating that these Demon Cleansing Monks suffered mutation devastation and torment before dying.
Demon Cleansing Monks have engaged multiple times with Yellow Springs.
If it weren’t for the joint efforts of Lian Wang and the Goddess of Suffering, the casualties of the Demon Cleansing Monks would have been much worse.
This is Yellow Springs.
Just after the underground lab was dismantled, the staff on the Yellow Springs side quickly made progress.
They believe the next stage of radiation control technology has arrived.
Yellow Springs is also about to evolve again.
"Please flee Hujiang; Yellow Springs is about to evolve into the ultimate organism."
Spies from the Demon Cleansing Monks, infiltrating the enemy camp, risked their lives to send out the message.
This news plunged Morioka Hitomi and Akiyama Sachi in the Eleventh District into despair.
"Even if Lian King’s Reincarnation and the Celestial Kingdom of the Goddess of Suffering release together, it only gives many small figures positive fate, helping them reach higher realms, strengthening our side."
"We need these potential powers now, but more importantly, we need strength to withstand Yellow Springs..."
Akiyama Sachi analyzed the intelligence.
She looked into the distance. Even though the Fourth District and the Eleventh District are miles apart, the blood-red cloud released by Yellow Springs can still be seen.
The entire Fourth District is shrouded in blood.
That cloud was a product after the deliberate release of aura by the Red House. In a place like Hujiang, Black Houses abound, and even Red Houses are not so rare, almost every area has one or two.
But only Yellow Springs dares to brazenly emit its aura. That means it is confident it can defeat all challengers.
Even more frightening, Akiyama Sachi and Morioka Hitomi, as well as Master Lingqing noticed that the red cloud of Yellow Springs has golden arcs circulating.
That seems to imply that it is about to evolve into an existence surpassing the Red House.
If true, the Demon Cleansing Monks, who stand entirely opposed to Yellow Springs, would probably face devastating blows.
"We... will not leave Hujiang," Morioka Hitomi said.
Akiyama Sachi also nodded:
"I will not leave here. There are still many people here worth saving."
Master Lingqing said:
"If we cannot save, then we’ll sacrifice for justice."
The three leaders of the Demon Cleansing Monks each made their decision.
Upon receiving the intelligence, they chose not to retreat but planned to fight Yellow Springs to the death. Akiyama Sachi and Morioka Hitomi are gathering strength, planning to release their combination skill once again.
Master Lingqing is also constantly drawing talismans, providing monks with means to combat monsters.
For the first three days, they all carried a mindset of burning their boats.
But three days later, they discovered the red cloud still lingered, and Yellow Springs never attacked.
By the seventh day, Akiyama Sachi even noticed... the golden arcs in the massive red cloud had weakened.
By the tenth day...
The Demon Cleansing Monks began to gradually perform tasks outside, helping people clear some tales and bizarre creatures.
Some areas close to the Fourth District, which meant life-danger zones.
Yet strangely, for days in a row, no battles occurred in the Fourth District.
By the fifteenth day, half a month had passed, the Demon Cleansing Monks in the Eleventh District couldn’t help but wonder if the intelligence was false.
And Akiyama Sachi found that the golden arcs in the giant red cloud had already disappeared.
She didn’t understand what this meant.
On the nineteenth day, during a rescue operation in the Eighth District, the dense area of Kabukicho, Morioka Hitomi and Master Lingqing received crucial intelligence.
Said that the original experimental team from Hujiang believed they had mastered the controllable radiation mutation technology and performed the final experimental transformation on Yellow Springs...
But the technology failed; although the probability of failure was extremely low, if failure occurs the probability becomes one hundred percent.
