"Actually, I don’t dislike this city. After entering here, my powers remain, but I can maintain human form."
"Sometimes, people even chat with me."
"I said everything here is very real. In this city, I seem to be able to... start a new life."
"Forget that I turned into an ugly monster, forget those unpleasant pasts."
Wen Xishu was waiting for that ’but’.
Tang Rui looked at the neon lights flickering in the rain and said:
"But I had a dream. From this dream onward, I realized... there’s something extremely bizarre about this city."
Wen Xishu asked:
"What dream?"
Tang Rui said:
"Later, there will be a taxi driver passing by here. He’ll think we’re a couple and ask if we want to get in."
Wen Xishu was a bit stunned, not quite understanding what Tang Rui meant.
Tang Rui said:
"Just wait, after we get in, he’ll try to kill us."
"He has great strength, ordinary passengers wouldn’t stand a chance against him."
"But if it’s you and me, we should be able to easily kill him."
Wen Xishu felt everything tonight was very eerie.
Soon, a blue-white taxi appeared at the end of the road.
The taxi driver rolled down the window:
"Are you getting in or not? It’s dreary weather, why are you lovebirds still strolling around!"
Wait, isn’t this the driver I just encountered?
Wen Xishu remembered the driver’s face.
At this moment, Tang Rui had already opened the car door and sat in the back seat.
She looked at Wen Xishu:
"Dear, come in."
At this moment, Tang Rui seemed like a little wife.
Of course, Wen Xishu knew this was a disguise, he suddenly remembered.
A while ago, the driver also noticed a couple, then immediately rolled down the window, not doing his own business, but went to pick up the couple instead.
Tang Rui was playing his partner.
Wen Xishu nodded:
"Alright, dear."
He closed the umbrella and got into the back seat.
After closing the door, the driver glanced at the rearview mirror, then didn’t even ask where to go, just started driving.
Tang Rui’s hand held Wen Xishu’s, seeming very intimate.
At this moment, the driver’s tone suddenly changed:
"You two seem very loving. How long until you get married?"
This seemed like normal dialogue, many taxi drivers are very chatty.
But the driver’s tone felt lifeless.
At this moment, Wen Xishu noticed...
The doors were locked.
On the windows, at some unknown time, there appeared red bloodstains, as if outside was not rain, but blood.
"Girl, your man seems to love you dearly, would you die for him?"
The driver’s face suddenly became fierce.
The smell of bodies in the trunk slowly seeped out, a stench made Wen Xishu wrinkle his brow.
At this moment, Tang Rui said:
"What I dreamt was the scene we’re experiencing now, but, to be exact, even earlier than this."
The driver couldn’t understand Tang Rui’s words, repeating his question:
"Your man seems to love you dearly, would you die for him?"
At this moment, not only was the driver’s expression fierce, but he also showed a cruel smile, preparing to act against Tang Rui.
Seeing the driver’s terrifying arms, Wen Xishu could imagine the opponent’s strength was definitely powerful, of course—that’s strong relative to ordinary people.
"Do you love him? Do you love him? Is your love able to withstand tests?"
The driver tilted his head.
If it were ordinary passengers, they might desperately scream, then pound on the doors, ultimately despairing at discovering the doors were locked, and the car was like a living thing, the whole space continually shrinking.
But this time, the passengers were Wen Xishu and Tang Rui.
The two were calm, as if watching a not very funny stand-up comedy.
Wen Xishu seemed to understand a bit, could Tang Rui’s dreams foresee the future?
Dream of the trajectories of bizarre creatures in this city?
He thought it was like this.
This car, as well as the driver, had problems. The driver seemed to have some ability that turned the vehicle into a living thing.
Now, he saw dense black thread-like things, seemingly sealing the doors shut tightly.
He and Tang Rui seemed to be in a monster’s stomach.
But what Tang Rui said next was even more bizarre, bizarre enough that Wen Xishu never expected it to unfold this way.
Tang Rui said:
"This driver, I created... No, to be precise, using the word ’design’ is more fitting."
"But for now, let’s kill him first."
A car that can swallow passengers, and a driver with deranged powers...
This could definitely be called a highway horror story.
But faced with beings like Wen Xishu and Tang Rui, this car and driver evidently weren’t up to par.
Soon, a scream echoed, it wasn’t from Tang Rui and Wen Xishu.
Then blood splattered, internal organs burst messily.
The driver died a horrible death, the car was so frightened it immediately opened the doors, wanting to send away the two ominous figures.
Both Wen Xishu and Tang Rui were splattered with blood, their faces full of dissatisfaction.
Thus, the car was soon scrapped.
After getting out, the two simply let the rain wash away the bloodstains.
"Wen Xishu, it seems like something has entangled me, I am experiencing a bizarre predicament of my own design..."
Although the taxi horror was immediately suppressed by the two, at this moment, Tang Rui looked at Wen Xishu, her eyes filled with confusion... and fear.
"I need your help, although what happened earlier shouldn’t even be considered a crisis... But I seem to have fallen into an evil cycle."
It was the first time Wen Xishu experienced such a bizarre event, he was very curious:
"You said this driver is your design, what does that mean?"
Tang Rui said:
"You’ll soon find out, I will use a mix of emotions to establish a connection with you, tonight when you dream..."
"This mix of emotions will make you turn into the main character of my dream. This dream will reveal everything to you."
"Now, come home with me."
