Chapter 1126: Chapter 422: Stroll and Assigning Rooms
When Zhou Wang boarded the ship first, Gao Xing, who had been lingering behind, quietly followed and boarded the ship as well.
As for the other temporary bodyguard, Xiao Wang, he had already stepped onto the deck before Zhou Wang, creating a layout where one was in front and the other was behind.
Last night, Zhou Wang had arranged for the club to provide relaxation spa therapists for the two, but unsurprisingly, they both refused.
While Zhou Wang was in the suite, Gao Xing and Xiao Wang were resting in the room next to him, taking turns on night watch.
“How do you keep watch?”
Upon hearing Xiao Wang’s report, Zhou Wang felt somewhat confused, “You guys are in the room next door, at least a wall apart from me, how would you know what’s happening inside my room?”
“Mr. Zhou, you might be underestimating Brother Gao a bit.”
Xiao Wang revealed an expression of amazement at this moment, “Last night, Brother Gao somehow acquired an employee’s access card. After we entered the room, he went out for more than half an hour and upon returning, he hacked into the room computer and directly connected to the club’s surveillance system.”
“Not only that, he installed a thermal imaging detector outside your bedroom window, meaning he can monitor any movement on your side at any time…”
“Just a moment!”
Zhou Wang interrupted Xiao Wang, eyes wide open, “A thermal imaging detector?”
“Uh… Mr. Zhou, rest assured, the images generated by that detector are different from a camera, your privacy hasn’t been compromised.”
Perhaps understanding why Zhou Wang looked puzzled, Xiao Wang hurriedly explained.
Zhou Wang was momentarily speechless, but then he thought, since they’re outside, Gao Xing is merely fulfilling his duty as a bodyguard. Although being watched in such a manner feels a bit awkward, he reckoned it was just Gao Xing’s helpless approach.
Quickly dispelled of his concerns, Zhou Wang curiously asked, “He didn’t enter my room, how did he place that detector at the window?”
“Went over the roof.”
Xiao Wang smiled and explained, “I can do it too, only I wouldn’t be as daring as Brother Gao, going up without any safety measures, just climbing up with bare hands…”
Zhou Wang glanced at Gao Xing, who was silently standing not far away, and ultimately could only pat the shoulders of the two.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
…
The return trip was uneventful. When Zhou Wang disembarked, he saw Miao Ying again at the Huangpu River dock.
Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, topped with a black baseball cap, clad in a white crop top on the upper body and dark jeans on the lower body, standing there with hands in pockets.
Her abdomen showcased defined abs, with legs not overly long yet perfectly proportioned, her bronze skin shimmering with a subtle sheen under the sunlight, exuding an inexplicable allure.
Her head was slightly lowered, making it difficult for Zhou Wang to discern her expression, only able to see the smooth line of her jaw, exuding a hint of delicacy, and lips that were both thin and slightly alluring.
The wind from the river brushed past, ruffling the strands of hair not completely tucked away by her temples, adding an invisible touch of solitude to her silhouette.
Upon seeing this quiet, often unnoticed girl, Zhou Wang unconsciously halted, his gaze slightly dazed.
She always appeared without a word and disappeared similarly when Zhou Wang no longer needed her.
After the impulsive encounter in the car, Zhou Wang initially thought their relationship should be closer, yet to his surprise, their communication became even less frequent.
Miao Ying seemingly wasn’t affected by any change in their relationship; she remained the only person around Zhou Wang who never proactively sent him messages or called.
As Zhou Wang recalled, most of the times it was Jiang Qingkui or Xu Wenqian who contacted Miao Ying; he actually hadn’t sent her many messages.
Thinking of last night’s indulgence and now seeing the quietly standing girl, Zhou Wang inexplicably felt a slight irritation. He strode over, and as Miao Ying looked up with a hint of confusion, seemingly unaware of why Zhou Wang suddenly approached her, Zhou Wang opened his mouth to complain:
“Didn’t I tell Qianqian not to pick me up? It’s not far from the hotel; what, am I not allowed to walk back myself or did she ask you to come?”
Miao Ying pressed her lips together, seemingly unsure why Zhou Wang appeared a bit annoyed.
Then she lowered her head again and softly said, “It’s not Sister Qianqian, it’s…”
“What is it?”
“I wanted to come myself.”
Miao Ying avoided Zhou Wang’s gaze.
Zhou Wang paused, his temper gone in an instant, as he opened his mouth, momentarily unsure what to say.
After a long while, Zhou Wang sighed, and said somewhat glumly, “Let’s go.”
Miao Ying nodded slightly and led the way. Soon, the four reached the roadside, yet Zhou Wang did not see Bulgari Hotel’s Rolls Royce; instead, he saw a new and unregistered white SUV.
Moonlight white in color, through the untinted windows revealing the inside’s reddish-brown interior.
The aesthetics of the entire vehicle were extremely high; though not as flashy as a supercar, it would still attract a certain amount of attention on the road.
Aston Martin, DBX V8.
A rarely mainstream model, positioned as a “super luxurious SUV”.
“Picked up this morning?”
Upon seeing the SUV before him, Zhou Wang recalled his instructions from last night and queried with surprise.
“Yes, Sister Qianqian and Sister Lin Ran contacted the 4S store last night; the Rolls Royce’s Bespoke customization requires your presence, but this one was available, so they took me to pick it up this morning…”
