"Additionally, there’s also a villa property delivered in 2015 and a large number of brand-new pharmaceuticals with quality inspection certificates, with a total value of over forty million."
"I’ve already commissioned the clubhouse for a professional evaluation earlier, and the conservative value they quoted is over fifty million."
"Originally, these items should have been entrusted to the clubhouse for sale, but I, Mr. Qi, urgently need the money, so I’m calling out here. If any friends are interested, I can make some concessions, transferring these items under my hand at eighty percent of the total price, a flat price of fifty-six million..."
Zhou Wang sat in the booth, feeling a bit perplexed, and turned to glance at Qiu Yao involuntarily.
"Can you auction off items yourself like this?"
"Since it’s a trading market, the clubhouse does not prohibit members from making private transactions. Few people adopt this approach, but it’s not unheard of. Generally, if one can wait, rarely does anyone sell things this way..."
Qiu Yao said softly.
Zhou Wang understood. After all, this method carries some intangible risks since it lacks the endorsement of the clubhouse, and one has to show themselves publicly. Furthermore, opting for this approach typically indicates that the seller is quite desperate for money, inevitably suffering a loss on the selling price.
For instance, after Qi Kai finished speaking, there was no response from the audience, only a few murmurs.
Just as impatience began to show on Qi Kai’s face, finally a man wearing a mask, sounding not young, raised his hand and asked, "Where are the factory and villa located? Are they in the suburbs of Magic City?"
"Not in Magic City, but in Ming City, Yunan Province. However, rest assured, even though it’s Ming City, they are still quality assets over there..."
Before Qi Kai finished speaking, the discussions in the hall intensified again, and Zhou Wang vaguely heard someone chuckle:
"I told you, if they were in Magic City, how could they only add up to a few million?"
"What’s the point of buying something from such a godforsaken place in Yunan Province?"
Qi Kai noticed the commotion in the hall and seemed to realize something, making his voice become more urgent.
"Friends, although the factory and estate aren’t in Magic City, they’re quite good investments. Additionally, there’s a bulk of pharmaceuticals which alone could sell for over twenty million..."
However, no matter what Qi Kai said, there was no response from the hall.
Seeing the situation, Qi Kai bit his lip, "Alright, I can back down a bit more and reduce six million, a flat price of fifty million. Is anyone interested?"
Yet, the response from the audience was still sparse.
Zhou Wang watched as Qi Kai continuously offered lower prices, down to forty-two million, yet still no interest.
"How about this, Mr. Qi, all the items in your possession, flat price of thirty million, if you agree, come over and let’s talk."
After some time, finally a calm voice emerged from one of the booths.
"Thirty million?"
Qi Kai’s face immediately turned grim.
Even if his quote had a bit of water, the real value of these items combined must exceed thirty million by far; a thirty million offer wasn’t much different from taking advantage of his misfortune.
Manager Chen on the side shook his head secretly, you’re practically wearing "I desperately need money" on your face, showing your neck for others to slash. This was why he advised Qi Kai against taking this trading approach earlier.
But evidently, Qi Kai, who had gone insane gambling in Ao Island these two days, was fixated on using a new round of capital to recover, dismissing his advice.
"Thirty million isn’t really that little, Mr. Qi, consider it. You know what the situation is like outside now; there aren’t many who can swiftly pull out millions in cash."
"I..."
The nearly despairing Qi Kai was momentarily caught in a dilemma.
At that time, a waiter quickly approached and whispered something in Manager Chen’s ear, making him show a surprised expression, which led to him beckoning Qi Kai on stage.
"Old Qi..."
Qi Kai approached in confusion, and upon hearing what Manager Chen said, he raised his head in disbelief, his face full of joy, "Manager Chen, you...are you serious?"
"Do you think a guest with Halo status would joke with you?"
Manager Chen shook his head, "Follow me."
Qi Kai responded, hastily hugging the file bag and following Manager Chen forward.
The others, seeing him suddenly leave the stage, hardly paid attention, including the person who made the offer earlier, remaining silent, evidently indifferent to whether the transaction could be completed.
Soon, Qi Kai followed Manager Chen to a booth in the corner, where, through the open view, he saw three people sitting inside, two men and a woman.
The girl was clearly a clubhouse PR, quickly ignored by Qi Kai, but when he saw the young man sitting next to her, Qi Kai was stunned.
So young?
But Manager Chen first introduced, not this young man he saw, but the person sitting side-on, alone enjoying champagne on the other side.
The spotlight illuminated the center of the dining table, edges dim, Qi Kai could only vaguely see his side face, also a very young outline.
This clubhouse isn’t supposed to host members under thirty-five, what’s with these two young men?
More alarming to him was the meaning revealed in Manager Chen’s words earlier, that these two young people actually can enjoy "Halo treatment."
Their parents must be quite impressive, right?
While mindlessly thinking, he heard Manager Chen introduced: "This is Mr. Zhou."
