Chapter 413: Endless World
Holy Light lit up within this world filled with Original Sin. At the instant this light made contact, a flaw appeared in the world.
These light discs dispersed Original Sin.
This was the Light of Purification.
After eroding this world, what wrapped around it on the outside was yet another layer of a world of Original Sin.
It was still the world of Gluttony.
The place where Gluttony was sealed lay right beside Corleon, yet Gluttony never doubted that Corleon—who had already declared war on it—had left it there so calmly.
The reason it had not been moved was simply because the time had not yet come.
Thus, long ago, it had already begun thinking of ways to preserve its own world. This was the accumulation and manifestation of its power.
At the same time, it was also to preserve its own existence to the greatest extent possible.
Even if it would not completely die.
Just as it had once said, as long as life still existed, it would not die.
But eternal slumber was no different from death.
Corleon was not Aivas, nor was he Pegira.
No matter how powerful those two were, they could not completely kill them, and even because they had been cursed by the Primordial Gods, their lives would ultimately reach an end.
Therefore, the Original Sins were unwilling to simply abandon their own world—this could be said to be everything they had.
But no matter what, nothing was more important than their own continued existence.
Thus, Gluttony had begun cutting and splitting its own world long ago in order to escape.
Only that not long ago, the message transmitted back by the will of Original Sin: Greed finally made Gluttony understand why Corleon had not directly acted against it.
It was merely because Corleon had not yet prepared its grave.
And now, the grave prepared for it had already been completed—or rather, the graves for the Seven Original Sins, all the gods within the entire world, and those Lords of Annihilation had already been dug. All that remained was to slowly bury them.
Faced with such a threat, how could they possibly sit and wait?
They were not those later-born Divine Figures. They were existences born in the most ancient of times. They had actively participated in Pegira’s rebellion against the Primordial Gods. They had witnessed the most cruel past, and were survivors—and victors—of that cruel past.
Even if they had ultimately been sealed by Pegira, the struggle between them and Pegira merely required time. Victory was destined to be theirs.
Thus, after confirming Corleon’s intent, they set up here the traps that Corleon could know about.
Namely, these layers upon layers of Original Sin worlds.
If the innermost first layer of the Original Sin world was merely as vast as the land upon which humans now lived』then the Original Sin world that had not been torn apart by Gluttony was thousands upon tens of thousands of times larger than this.
Or rather, from a human perspective alone, it was a multiple completely impossible to calculate.
At the very least, in this instant, Corleon’s Light of Purification pierced through no fewer than seventy layers of Gluttony’s space.
The passage had already been obscured. This place had become a prison.
Then Corleon encountered the impact of a certain Original Sin.
The Light of Purification fluctuated for an instant, and the more than seventy layers of space that had been pierced rapidly recovered.
"Merely my Gluttony space alone, I have stacked one hundred and thirty-seven layers."Gluttony, still locked to the ground, said thus.
"Aren’t you able to see the future? Then you should be able to see how many worlds exist beyond these one hundred and thirty-seven layers of Gluttony space吧。"
This was the arrogant voice of Pride.
"Hahahahaha! Come on! Even if your power is extremely sharp against us, this is ultimately our world, and you are merely a little god who has existed in the world for less than ten years. How much faith do you still have stored?"
This was the furious voice of Wrath.
"What pure power. You must have been suppressing it painfully, right? But only such suppression can yield such pure faith, such a powerful existence, such a great power."
Envy did not conceal its envy toward this power at all.
"No matter how pure it is, the time is still too short. You seized a bit of my will, but to me it was like blowing a □ breath—it had no effect on me at all."
Greed spoke thus, yet its voice could not conceal its greed toward Corleon.
"Why must you oppose us? Wouldn’t it be better for us to share this world together? Or perhaps we help you complete unification, and then you help us complete creation—wouldn’t that allow everyone to coexist harmoniously?"
This voice was the only one that revealed female characteristics. Perhaps it was because the object of her conversation—Corleon—displayed male characteristics.
Sloth did not speak.
In the end, Gluttony said, "How much power do you still have? And the power we have stored from the eternal ages is inexhaustible."
Corleon sighed once and said, "The quantity of your power is indeed extremely vast."
Then not a single Original Sin took up his words.
Although each of them was mocking Corleon, Gluttony’s true body and the black knight manifestations of the other six Original Sins had all gathered their full will, staring intently at Corleon, who had already transformed into the Light of Purification.
"How boring. I already cooperated with you and said what you wanted to hear. Why can’t you cooperate with me and put on a bit of a performance?"
Corleon sighed again.
"Heh, it seems we were destined to fail."
The one who spoke to Corleon last was instead Sloth.
Corleon said, "You never believed that you could so easily succeed in killing me."
Sloth continued, "Although we will soon know the reason, can you tell me now—why did we fail this time?"
His manner of speech was extremely polite. Merely listening to the voice, one could almost imagine a human noble who perfectly embodied aristocratic etiquette.
And because of that politeness, Corleon also very amicably told him.
"Because I set new baptismal names for you, so your powers are calling me Godfather. How obedient they are. Even if you are unwilling to accept my blessing, your powers have already accepted it."
As Corleon’s words fell, Gluttony instantly dismantled its body into countless fragments.
And the Original Sins that had been continuously launching will-shocks against Corleon to disrupt the Light of Purification also split off a portion of their will to analyze Gluttony’s countless fragments, attempting to search within them for the conceptual location of the baptismal name set by Corleon.
And because of this, Corleon’s Light of Purification pierced through Gluttony’s one hundred and thirty-seven layers of Gluttony worlds in this instant, entering another Original Sin world.
The world of Original Sin: Greed.
That blue space formed a stark contrast with Gluttony’s blood-red color.
"Impossible! We did not find the concept you left behind."
Gluttony said.
Its body had already recombined.
"Your gazes should never have left York Territory, right?"
Corleon’s voice came forth. "Then you should know that inside the hospital there is such a saying: a doctor cannot treat himself."
"Although this saying arose because doctors always cut wherever the illness is, and if they were to operate on themselves, they might cut crookedly or incorrectly due to pain, or even be unable to bring themselves to cut."
"But I think this saying can explain why you are unable to find this concept right now。"
