"Secondly, among the players, get along with Drexler and Stockton, they have good personalities, especially John Clyde who is quite aloof. Butter him up a bit, especially saying he can rival Michael Jordan, he’ll be very happy. Anyway, he’s just an easily coaxed fool."
"David Robinson, chat with him more about Jesus, God, and Christ. Trust me, he’ll become your supporter."
"Patrick is cold outside but warm inside, he’s not good with words, and doesn’t have a good relationship with reporters. You’re like that too, aren’t you? So, cover for him, speak up for him, he’ll treat you well."
"Then there’s Michael, this guy is quite nasty, but also pretty simple. Just gamble or play cards with him, find an opportunity to lose to him, and he’ll be happy, won’t give you a hard time."
"Magic is mild-mannered and friendly, of course, I mean partly. You need to find that spot, cater to his cheerful side, which can be a bit difficult. Oh, I heard there’s a rumor you’re gay, is it true?"
Leight quickly denied it.
"Okay, I bet some reporter will ask this question, don’t deny it directly. You can express some views on AIDS, and praise Magic a bit. Trust me, he’ll appreciate it."
"No need to worry about Mu Lin, just have a drink with him. Scottie this hick is self-absorbed and won’t bother you. Karl Malone is an exception, if you have the guts to fight him, guarantee after the fight, he’ll respect you, and then everyone will respect you. Provided you have the courage."
"Lastly, Charles Barkley and Larry Bird, Charles is quite nice, take him to a burger joint I recommend in Portland, he likes it. As for Larry... if you can find a way to learn some back massage or therapy methods, he’ll be infinitely grateful. I know a masseur."
Gan Guoyang explained like a teacher lecturing, analyzing all the personalities and preferences of the other members of the Dream Team for Leight.
Leight was dumbfounded, he had no idea that the big shots in the team had such varied characters, each with their own Achilles’ heel.
Gan Guoyang knew this like the back of his hand, no wonder this guy could dominate the NBA, it seems it’s not just his skills on the court.
"Why?" Leight asked after listening, expressing his confusion. "Why are you guiding me?"
Gan Guoyang replied: "No reason, just want to make a friend, and... I want to understand the Dream Team better. In case I meet you guys, I want to lose a bit less."
Leight understood, Ah Gan wanted him to be a spy.
Though he was aware that the Dream Team is terrifyingly strong now, the probability of losing is close to zero.
So, even if he divulged some information to Ah Gan, as Gan said, it’s just losing a little less.
But thinking about "betraying" the Dream Team, Leight still felt hesitant inside.
He didn’t agree to Gan Guoyang, just said to keep in touch, and apologized for his earlier recklessness, thanking Ah Gan for the guidance.
Through this incident, Leight deeply sensed Ah Gan’s terrifying power.
As people said, Ah Gan’s greatest strength is his control.
Leight felt he’d been firmly controlled, unable to escape that mental spider web.
Perhaps "betrayal" is only a matter of time.
On the 29th and 30th, the Dream Team played two more games.
Among them, the game against Canada, Team USA won by 44 points.
The Canada Team fought hard to resist, finally losing somewhat graciously.
In the match, Stockton and Jordan collided, injured and left the field.
His Olympic journey was overshadowed.
In the third match against Panama, a small incident occurred.
During the introduction of American players, it was Leight’s turn.
He got up from the bench, and his sweatpants suddenly fell, revealing the white shorts underneath.
Leight quickly flustered, pulled up his pants, and re-tied them.
This awkward moment was captured by the TV broadcast signal, reaching thousands of households.
On Team USA’s bench, players burst into laughter, Barkley, Jordan, and others shook with laughter, covering their faces.
There was no doubt, someone played a prank, undoing Leight’s sweatpants ties, embarrassing him as he took the field.
Leight’s face was extremely unsightly, the following David Robinson laughed and then went over to pat him.
No one knew who did it, nor would anyone say.
After the game, reporters were not interested in the match between Team USA and Panama Team—Panama Team bought their tickets to America for the competition by borrowing money.
Only one reporter came to interview Leight, bluntly saying: "Talk about the pants issue."
Leight said: "I don’t know who did it."
The reporter sharply asked again: "Some say Brian Davis is your boyfriend, is it true?"
Leight clenched his fists, recalling Ah Gan’s words, then changed the subject, praising Magic Johnson.
The interview finally ended in awkwardness and dead air, Leight returned to the locker room alone, deciding to call Ah Gan that night.
