Chapter 1033 - 17: I Can See All the Cheats
As the Imperial Physician continued his diagnosis, even his own hands trembled slightly.
In all his years at the Imperial Hospital, this was the first time he encountered such a grand spectacle. In this palace, there were actually five concubines pregnant!
The Empress, Concubine Rong, Concubine Mei, Noble Lady An, and a Lin Daying.
Tianmiao maintained a calm demeanor: "Go, bring the Emperor."
The Emperor heard the news and rushed over with excitement all over his face. He was going to be a father! How marvelous! He had created life, and not just one, but five!
"Reward! Reward, reward! Everyone gets a reward!" The always stingy Emperor was uncharacteristically generous this time, rewarding all the pregnant concubines and not stopping there—every Palace Attendant received a reward, especially the one who brought the news.
Once all the concubines had left, the Emperor happily paced back and forth in front of Tianmiao.
"Mother, Mother, I’m going to be a father." The Emperor said excitedly.
"Yes, my son is going to be a father. And I am going to be a grandmother." Tianmiao smiled.
"This is wonderful news, but I’m suddenly worried about something." The Emperor suddenly stopped and sat down next to Tianmiao, "Mother, having many sons may not be a good thing. I suddenly recalled my brothers. Back then, they schemed and plotted constantly for the Dragon Throne of the late Emperor, leading to a rift and mutual slaughter. I don’t want my sons to be like that in the future." The Emperor said worriedly.
"Well, have you thought of a way to prevent such a situation?" Tianmiao asked.
"Not yet. Please help me think of a solution, Mother." The Emperor looked at Tianmiao with anticipation.
Tianmiao laughed and suddenly said, "That Lin Daying is pregnant too; does my son have a bit of affection for her?"
"Hehe... Yes. I always thought she’s actually rather cute and straightforward. She used to be impulsive, but she’s much better now. Besides, she’s very clever; she seems to really come from another world, even from the future. I can learn some new and inspiring things from her and apply them to certain matters." The Emperor explained with some embarrassment, "And she is entirely opposed to that sphere, I think she’s not bad."
"So, she has finally integrated into her current life, and lives earnestly and diligently?" Tianmiao asked.
"Yes, you could say that." The Emperor nodded, "Anyway, she’s much more lovable than those concubines with spheres. Noble Lady Qing and Concubine Jing depend on that sphere every day, becoming increasingly haggard without noticing. But the one I’m most puzzled by is Concubine Shu; what on earth is that thing?"
"We’ll know when the expert arrives." Tianmiao suggested, "Since Lin Daying has changed now, why not ask her? Perhaps in her world, she knows how to solve your current headache."
"Ah, right, why didn’t I think of that. Mother, you’re truly brilliant!" The Emperor nodded repeatedly, full of joy.
That night, the Emperor initially wanted to go directly to Lin Daying to ask for solutions, but then thought the Empress was pregnant too, so he should visit her first. When the Empress welcomed the Emperor in the evening, her eyes were full of surprise. She knew the Emperor didn’t particularly favor her and thought he would certainly visit Concubine Rong first tonight. As it turned out, the Emperor came to her first, which made her genuinely happy.
Thus, for several consecutive nights, the Emperor visited each according to rank, with Lin Daying being the last. The Emperor couldn’t help but again marvel at how tiring it was to be an Emperor.
