Chapter 115: Meeting with Sarah
When Tessa returned to her room, she casually picked up her phone. The moment she unlocked the screen, a notification caught her attention.
It was a new message from the same mysterious number.
A chill ran down her spine.
She hadn’t received any threatening messages for several days. She had almost convinced herself that the mysterious sender had finally given up. But she had been wrong.
He hadn’t disappeared. He was back.
With trembling fingers, she opened the message.
’Hello, Mrs. Sinclair. It’s been a while since we last talked. How have you been?’
Tessa tightened her grip on the phone. Her heartbeat quickened as she continued reading.
’Why am I even asking? You must be enjoying your luxurious life in the Sinclair mansion.’
Her breathing hitched. "What?" Her eyes widened in horror. "He knows I’m living in the Sinclair mansion."
Cold sweat broke out across her back. "Is... is he watching me?"
The thought alone made her blood run cold. She hurriedly scrolled to the last line.
’I wonder how long you can continue enjoying your luxurious life while hiding the truth. Once Noah Sinclair learns the truth about your baby, you’ll be thrown out of the Sinclair family. And trust me... he’ll never forgive you.’
Her hands began to shake violently.
"Who is this man?" she hissed through clenched teeth. "What does he want from me? Why won’t he leave me alone?"
The constant threats had become unbearable. Every day she lived in fear that her secrets would be exposed.
"I can’t keep living like this." Her eyes narrowed with determination. "I’ll find out who you are."
She immediately opened her contact list. After scrolling for a moment, she found the number she wanted and dialed it.
Several rings later, the call connected.
A hoarse voice answered, "What is it, Tessa? Why are you calling me this late? Has something happened?"
"I need a private detective," she said through gritted teeth. "Immediately."
The woman chuckled softly, "As long as you are willing to pay, I can arrange one."
"Money isn’t an issue." Tessa’s voice turned colder. "I want the best detective you can find."
"Done. I’ll contact you as soon as everything is arranged."
The call ended.
Tessa slowly lowered the phone, her eyes filled with murderous determination.
"Whoever you are, I’ll end your little game."
She clenched her fists.

Meanwhile, Elena entered the VIP suite of a prestigious private hospital in Australia.
The room was so spacious and elegantly furnished that it resembled a luxurious five-star hotel rather than a hospital room.
Warm wooden flooring stretched beneath their feet. A plush sofa occupied one corner, beside a polished coffee table adorned with fresh lilies whose delicate fragrance filled the room.
Oil paintings decorated the walls, and soft golden lighting gave the suite a warm, homelike feel.
Floor-to-ceiling windows dominated one side of the room, overlooking the magnificent city skyline. Distant mountains framed the bustling city, creating a breathtaking view.
Yet Elena didn’t spare the scenery a single glance. The instant her eyes fell upon the woman resting on the hospital bed, every other thought vanished.
"Aunt..."
Sarah slowly turned her head. Her hair had been shaved completely because of chemotherapy. Her face was pale and noticeably thinner than before. Illness had taken much of her strength.
Yet despite her frail appearance, her eyes lit up the moment she saw Elena.
"Elena!" She gasped in astonishment. "Oh, my goodness. What a wonderful surprise!"
Elena rushed across the room and threw herself into her aunt’s embrace. The tears she had been holding back instantly spilled over.
Sarah laughed softly as she wrapped her thin arms around her niece.
"Silly child." She gently stroked Elena’s hair. "Why are you crying?"
"I missed you..." Elena’s voice broke. "I missed you so much."
Sarah’s eyes turned misty. "I missed you too, sweetheart."
Near the doorway, Elias leaned casually against the wall with his arms folded across his chest.
A faint smile played on his lips as he quietly watched the touching reunion.
After a long moment, Elena reluctantly pulled away. The closer she looked, the more her heart ached.
Cancer had stolen so much from her aunt. Sarah looked years older than before. She had become alarmingly thin, her cheeks hollow and her wrists so slender they looked fragile enough to break.
Dark shadows rested beneath her eyes, making her appear even more exhausted.
Tears welled up in Elena’s eyes once again.
"How are you feeling?" she asked softly, struggling to keep her voice steady.
Sarah smiled gently. "I’m feeling much better."
Elena closed her eyes briefly.
It was always the same answer. No matter how much pain she endured, no matter how difficult the treatments became. Sarah always claimed she was fine. She never wanted Elena to worry.
"You always say that." Elena squeezed her hand gently. "But I want the truth."
Sarah chuckled. "I am telling you the truth. My condition has improved a lot these past few weeks. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the doctor."
"Aunt Sarah is telling the truth." Elias walked over and stopped beside Elena. "She is responding very well to the treatment."
Only then did Elena finally breathe a sigh of relief. She clasped Sarah’s hands tightly.
"That’s wonderful. All I want is for you to recover soon."
"She will." Elias gently rested a reassuring hand on Elena’s shoulder. His calm voice instantly eased the remaining anxiety in her heart.
Elena looked up at him gratefully. Without Elias, she would never have escaped the Sinclair family. Without him, Sarah would never have received treatment from some of the world’s leading cancer specialists.
No amount of gratitude seemed enough.
Sarah smiled warmly. "The staff here treat me like family. They sre incredibly kind and attentive. I’ve never imagined receiving such wonderful care."
She looked at Elias with eyes full of appreciation. "Thank you, Elias. You brought me here. You arranged the best doctors. If it weren’t for you, my recovery wouldn’t have been this smooth."
Elias smiled gently. "We are family. There is no need to thank me."
He glanced affectionately at Elena. "She and I both want the same thing. We want you to recover as quickly as possible and return home."
Sarah’s eyes glistened. "I will."
She smiled brightly. "I still want to play with your future children."
Elena’s cheeks instantly turned pink. The mention of the baby stopped hurting her. The thought of having a child someday now filled her heart with hope.
The nightmare of losing her first baby no longer held the same power over her. That Chapter of her life had finally begun to fade.
She looked forward to building a new future with Elias.
"Aunt..." she smiled shyly. "You should lie down and rest. You’ve talked enough already. You’re still recovering."
Even Elias looked slightly embarrassed. He wanted children too. But only when Elena was ready.
Scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, he cleared his throat. "Uh... I’ll go check whether the doctor is available."
He quietly slipped out of the room.
Silence settled over the suite.
Elena lowered her head, absentmindedly intertwining her fingers.
Sarah watched her quietly before asking in a gentle voice, "Tell me honestly. How is Elias treating you? I know he is good to you..." She hesitated. "But is he truly making you happy?"
Hearing the concern in her aunt’s voice, Elena lifted her head and smiled.
"He treats me wonderfully." Her smile grew warmer. "He takes care of me in every possible way. I’m truly happy with him."
Sarah’s tense expression finally relaxed. "I’m so relieved to hear that. I just hope he never turns out to be like Noah."
Sadness briefly clouded her eyes. "Back then, I truly believed Noah would give you a lifetime of happiness. But..."
"Aunt." Elena gently interrupted her. "Please don’t talk about Noah anymore. I’ve already let him go. There is no place for him in my life anymore."
She reached over and held Sarah’s hand. "And please, don’t compare my husband with him. Elias is nothing like Noah."
Sarah blinked in surprise. She hadn’t expected Elena to reject Noah’s name so decisively.
Then relief slowly spread across her face. Perhaps her niece had truly moved on.
"As long as you are happy, I’m at peace. I’m glad fate brought someone into your life who truly loves and cherishes you."
"Yes." Elena nodded without hesitation.
There wasn’t the slightest doubt in her heart. She trusted Elias completely. She believed he would never betray her.
"Fate has given me a second chance. And this time, I’ll cherish him with all my heart."
Her expression gradually turned resolute. ’I won’t let anyone come between us and destroy my marriage again.’
Sarah immediately noticed the change in her demeanor. Her brows knitted together.
"Is something troubling you?"
Elena met her aunt’s concerned gaze. After a brief silence, she spoke in a voice barely above a whisper.
"I met her."
Sarah frowned. "Who?"
Elena lowered her eyes. "My mother."
