Chapter 1169: Five Elements Extreme Realm
As expected, the teleportation gate sent them to the Five Elements Extreme Realm, where all the Trial Takers could be seen meditating and resting on the side.
Chen Tianlong immediately recognized Cheng Qianjin and Master Mie Wo, then happily greeted them.
"Sect Leader Cheng, Master Mie Wo, are you all well?" Chen Tianlong asked with a slight smile.
"Haha, Brother Chen Tianlong, we’re all fine. Although there were some small mistakes along the way, we managed to make it through."
Cheng Qianjin was obviously happy, like everyone else, as they were about to complete the trial, obtain the magic pill, both excited and eager.
Suddenly, a large mirror opened in the sky, and everyone was surprised, looking up. Before long, the mirror showed the Sect Leader of the Celestial Pill Sect, the Pure Yang Daoist, along with Fatty Xu.
"Hello everyone, it seems this trial went very smoothly. You all are excellent. The first two tasks have been completed successfully, and the timing was just right."
The Pure Yang Daoist said with satisfaction: "Next, tomorrow morning at 6 o’clock, we will gather and head to the Five Elements Extreme Realm. At that time, we will arrange for six Attribute Female Cultivators specially selected by us to stabilize the attributes."
"Wow, six female cultivators? So many." Everyone discussed.
"Yes, six of them are special attribute cultivators, used to activate the Five Elements Array in that place. Presumably, all martial arts fellows know that to pursue higher cultivation levels, one must go to more advanced places. Our main task as Trial Takers is to protect these six Attribute Female Cultivators, lure out the Divine Beast and entangle with it to create time for the female cultivators!"
"This is also a test for the Trial Takers! Successfully completing the task means you qualify to receive the magic pill. If you withdraw early or fail the task, naturally, you won’t qualify!" said the Pure Yang Daoist.
His meaning was clear. While it could be considered a success now, if the final task failed, everyone wouldn’t get the magic pill.
So, everyone knew the importance of this matter, otherwise, their previous efforts would have been in vain.
"Alright, is everyone clear? If so, start resting now. Tomorrow morning at 6 o’clock, we begin the journey," the Pure Yang Daoist said lastly.
"Sect Leader, may I ask, what is that Divine Beast?" Hao Shuai still felt a bit weak, needing to know more, lest he "die without knowing why."
"The Divine Beast is the King of Spirit Beasts in the Five Elements Extreme Realm, with immense power, having achieved Celestial Dao’s Seven Stars Great Perfection, making it a top-class Spirit Beast."
The Pure Yang Daoist explained: "In the Divine Beast’s cave, there’s a dense aura of Evil Qi that can strengthen the Five Elements Attribute, perfecting the cultivator’s attribute physique! Otherwise, differences in the attribute might lead to inconsistency, affecting the quality of cultivation!"
"Therefore, to ensure that everything can continue smoothly, we must send Trial Takers to restrain the Divine Beast."
"Oh, well... who contributes more or less can’t be determined at the time, right? If a Trial Taker hides in the back and doesn’t act, they could coast through!" Hao Shuai asked with some confusion.
"Indeed, but to prevent this from happening and to ensure the safety of the six Attribute Female Cultivators, I originally wanted Master Xu to act as the Trial Supervisor, but then I felt the leadership of the Celestial Pill Sect intervening might break the rules, so I thought of sending Du Min, letting him secretly act as a recorder, documenting the entire process, to use for scoring later."
The Pure Yang Daoist said: "However, I have never encountered a situation like this before, so I’m planning to personally oversee tomorrow..."
"Sect Leader, I have a good idea."
Hao Shuai said: "Actually, what difference does it make if one more or less participates in the Celestial Pill Sect trial? Everyone is here for the magic pill, after all. It’s best to follow a system of more rewards for more effort, requiring those who contribute more to be rewarded more, and those who contribute less to give up part of their reward. This way, everyone will be more eager."
"Oh? That’s a good idea. Expecting everyone to put in the same effort might not be possible, but if the reward follows the system of more rewards for more effort, then everyone should be more active."
The Pure Yang Daoist, hearing this, smiled satisfactorily: "Then let’s do as Brother Xu suggested, shall we? Does anyone disagree?"
No one voiced an objection, implying consensus, which made the Pure Yang Daoist smile contentedly: "Haha, then it’s up to you all now."
"Sect Leader, I have another idea."
Hao Shuai thought for a moment, then said with a slight smile.
"Oh? Hao Shuai, do you have something else to say? Go ahead," the Pure Yang Daoist thought Hao was getting a bit ahead, but was too polite to point it out.
"I think it’s best to find a leader for this action. Every event needs a vanguard; it’s impossible for everyone to rush up simultaneously. Someone stronger should first lure out the Divine Beast, then we can hold it off," said Hao Shuai.
"You mean to say you want to lead?"
The Pure Yang Daoist didn’t entirely understand, so he asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Hehe, of course not. How could I dare take the lead? But I can recommend someone, someone who is definitely the strongest among us."
Hao Shuai’s eyes gleamed, clearly having a mischievous plan in mind.
"Who do you think is most suitable?"
The Pure Yang Daoist asked with some curiosity.
"Sect Leader, my idea is this: since Attribute Cultivators are going to receive attribute stabilization, Chen Tianlong, with his chivalrous nature, surely wouldn’t let these Female Cultivators face danger. At that time, we can let everyone hide and have Chen Tianlong alone lure out the Divine Beast."
"If Chen Tianlong can restrain the Divine Beast alone, that’s even better. We save effort and avoid danger. But if Chen Tianlong can’t hold it and gets taken out by the Divine Beast, it warns us because if even he can’t stop it, aren’t we risking lives for nothing?"
After Hao Shuai said this, everyone started discussing.
Some said it was immoral, others thought it a good idea—everyone knew Chen Tianlong’s power, and if even he couldn’t restrain it, wouldn’t others be just in vain?
"Well then, Brother Chen Tianlong, what do you think?" The Sect Leader noticed the divided opinions, so he directly posed the question to Chen Tianlong.
"You!"
Lin Wushuang, who was on the side, listened to Hao Shuai’s words and couldn’t help but give him a sidelong glance: "Truly a dog bites Lv Dongbin, not recognizing a good person’s heart! Chen Tianlong treated you so well, even giving up his Powerful Qi to save you, yet you still make fun of him like this."
