Chapter 1144: The Mission
After the Pure Yang Daoist finished speaking, he walked to his seat in the main hall and sat down. At this moment, Xu Wei, having received the order from the Sect Leader, the Pure Yang Daoist, slowly walked to the center of the hall, where the Pure Yang Daoist had just stood.
"First of all, welcome everyone to the Celestial Pill Sect. Next, I will explain the requirements and precautions for the trial."
Xu Wei paused for a moment, looked around to see everyone listening attentively, and then continued, "For this trial, we are divided into five groups, each with six people. As for how to divide, you can form groups freely, and if you can’t, we will assist in facilitating adjustments."
"Next, I need to inform you that this trial lasts for three days, with a total of three tasks. As long as you complete the corresponding tasks, you will receive corresponding rewards. However, let me say that task rewards are any one of three random types, but rest assured, rewards will not be repeated."
Xu Wei explained seriously.
"Now, about these three tasks, they are divided into three levels of difficulty, and you can skip them, but once you choose to skip, you will lose the reward for that task. We will provide a task selector for you; just open it, and we will know if you want to skip, and the task threshold will automatically activate."
Xu Wei paused deliberately here: "Does anyone have any questions they don’t understand now?"
"I want to ask, if I skip a task first and then complete a harder one later on, can I go back and do it afterward?" Chen Tianlong stood up and asked.
"Hehe, Brother Chen Tianlong, that’s not possible. Once you skip a sequential task, it means you have automatically given up the reward. Even if you go back and complete it, there is no reward," the plump man smiled as he explained.
"Understood!"
Chen Tianlong, having received the answer he wanted, returned to his place.
At this moment, Xiao Jianteng came forward with arms crossed, and asked, "So, is there any life-threatening danger during the trial?"
This was Xiao Jianteng’s biggest concern. Although he wanted those pills, if his life was at stake, what use would they be?
"Hehe, that is a good question. I must honestly tell you that there are many dangers in the trial, but not death, because we can monitor your actions at any time. If there is real danger, we will provide rescue immediately, but we won’t interfere with other matters."
Saying this, the plump man smiled at Chen Tianlong, clearly hinting for him to be cautious.
"Are our tasks all the same, and what are they exactly?"
At this moment, Master Mie Wo, who had been silent all along, spoke up.
"The tasks are not the same, but we have designed the difficulty levels already, ensuring fairness.
Once you enter the Trial Realm, tasks will be assigned randomly. Rest assured, we, the Celestial Pill Sect, will ensure fairness and justice," Xu Wei said.
"Understood, thank you, Master Xu," Master Mie Wo respectfully thanked him.
"You’re welcome, Master."
The plump man quickly replied, to show politeness.
"Alright, I’ve finished explaining the trial matters. Keep in mind that the last task might bring you all together this time, as this trial is also set up in hopes that you can help the Celestial Pill Sect tackle a difficult problem. Please be aware of that."
"What? The Celestial Pill Sect has a problem that needs us to solve? Can’t you solve it yourselves?"
Cheng Qianjin asked in surprise.
"Indeed, the final task requires everyone’s joint effort. I can let you know in advance that it’s a giant Divine Beast, and as long as you hold it off, I’ll plan the task accordingly," the plump man thought for a moment and said.
"Divine Beast?" Chen Tianlong was also puzzled and asked the plump man.
"Yes, to be frank, it’s a Divine Beast of Celestial Dao seven-star Great Perfection. Its cave is full of intense Evil Qi, which you’ve probably heard of before, the Five Elements Evil Qi used to break through levels or stabilize attributes, and our Celestial Pill Sect happens to have a group of newly advanced experts who need to stabilize their attributes. Through this trial, we can take the opportunity to ask for your help to hold off the Divine Beast for about twenty minutes."
The plump man finally revealed the purpose of the trial.
However, no one commented much upon hearing this. Otherwise, who in their right mind would offer such grand rewards for a trial without risks?
"Alright, that’s all. Tomorrow, the trial mode officially starts. On the night of the full moon, the Teleportation Array to the Qiankun Realm will be activated. Be sure to enter in time; the array only opens for half an hour, and then it will only reopen after seven days, meaning you can exit but not enter, so make sure to remember that."
After saying this, the plump man walked towards the Pure Yang Daoist.
"Hehe, Sect Leader, mission accomplished. Is there anything else you would like to add?" the plump man asked respectfully.
"Hm, no,"
The Pure Yang Daoist waved his hand, indicating he wanted Xu Wei to arrange accommodation and meals for these trial takers.
The plump man had only taken two steps before the Pure Yang Daoist called him back: "Master Xu, come back."
"Hehe, Sect Leader, do you have any other instructions?"
Xu Wei was puzzled but dared not slack off and hurried back.
"Inform that young man to come to my room," the Pure Yang Daoist was quite excited, wanting to know who this person was.
Upon hearing this, Xu Wei immediately understood, "Okay, I’ll notify him right away."
The Cold-faced Envoy led the trial participants away, and Chen Tianlong, along with Lin Wushuang, left last. At this moment, Xu Wei quickly stepped forward and said, "Brother Chen Tianlong, the Sect Leader requests your presence!"
Chen Tianlong was startled for a moment, then quickly realized it, pointing to himself and asking, "The Sect Leader is looking for me?"
"Yes, the Sect Leader is looking for you! Hehe," Xu Wei said with a smile.
Chen Tianlong turned to look at Lin Wushuang, who nodded understandably, "Chen Tianlong, you should go, maybe the Sect Leader has something important to instruct you on?"
"Mm, alright, then I’m off."
Chen Tianlong nodded and said, then followed the plump man.
Lin Wushuang quickly caught up with the team and, under the lead of the Cold-faced Envoy, went to her room to rest.
Chen Tianlong, following the plump man, passed through several large buildings and arrived at the Sect Leader’s guest room. At this moment, the Pure Yang Daoist was already sitting by a table, elegantly sipping tea while waiting.
The plump man reached the doorway and politely knocked. Seeing them arrive, the Pure Yang Daoist said amiably, "Are you Master Xu? Please, come in."
"Hehe, it’s me, Sect Leader, I brought the person for you." the plump man smiled and said.
