Chapter 1118: The Master’s Decision
In that case, she sacrificed herself for others, which in Buddhist terms, is to give up life for justice, a form of devotion.
"Master, please, I know your Calm Heart Technique can remove the Demonic Qi from my daughter’s body, please save her." After Wu Jian said this, he knelt on the ground.
It was the first time Wu Jian knelt to beg someone. In their heyday, the Thunderbolt Heroes were awe-inspiring, striking fear in many. Now, kneeling to beg for help, what great determination it must take.
Wu Mengting hurried to help her father up, but she couldn’t move.
"Thud!"
Wu Mengting also knelt on the ground. She didn’t expect to leave unscathed, but since her father said this place could remove the Demonic Qi, she wanted to give it a try.
"Master, I don’t know if my Demonic Qi can be removed, just hoping that if it can, you would help me. It would be a kindness." Wu Mengting pleaded.
Master Void took a deep breath and said earnestly, "Child, it’s not that I won’t help you, but the Demonic Qi in you belongs to something outside the Three Realms. Don’t underestimate this Demonic Qi, it has become a powerful force through the transfer of two people. If it cannot be directly eradicated from your body, it will lead to endless troubles in the future, which is what this old monk advises you."
"Master, what do you mean?" Wu Jian was stunned, finding it a bit vague.
"This Demonic Qi is slowly growing stronger. Your daughter is pregnant, and this Demonic Qi is using the name of the new life in the womb to grow. It’s beyond our control now. The Calm Heart Technique can only temporarily suppress it. Once the child is born, this Demonic Qi will directly take over your daughter’s mind. The only way is to have the child in the womb miscarry, this way the Demonic Qi can be stabilized, and with the Calm Heart Technique, it might be cleared within two years," Master Void finally explained the reason.
"No, I won’t kill my child. This is the flesh and blood between Chen Tianlong and me. Even if I die, I won’t kill him." Wu Mengting shook her head firmly, like a rattle drum, unwilling to agree.
Wu Jian took a deep breath. To him, his daughter was the most important, but if the child doesn’t die and is born, then Wu Mengting will certainly die.
"Alright, let’s go back to the main hall first and talk more."
Master Void apparently had something to say to Wu Jian alone, so he deliberately invited them back to the main hall.
This Demonic Qi was felt by Master Void the moment Wu Mengting stepped into the Shaolin Temple.
However, it was their choice, and he had no other way.
"Wu Kong, pour some tea for our two guests." Master Void instructed the young monk to pour tea for them. Soon the young monk came over and filled two cups, only with a slight commanding glance from Master Void.
In that instant, the young monk’s finger slightly dipped into Wu Mengting’s tea, with such speed that it was done before anyone noticed.
Even Wu Jian took a deep breath, the young monk was indeed impressive.
"Dear guests, please have a cup of tea to quench your thirst. The weather is dry and hot, making it easy to get thirsty," said Master Void.
Wu Jian seemed to understand Void’s words and drank his tea in one gulp. Seeing her father drink, Wu Mengting didn’t want to seem disrespectful, so she drank as well.
But soon after drinking, Wu Mengting fainted.
"Donor Wu, rest assured, this is calming medicine used to temporarily suppress the Demonic Qi in her body. Later I will use the Calm Heart Technique to control the Demonic Qi in her, restoring her a little," Master Void explained.
"I see, thank you, master."
"No need. Next, I want to say, if your daughter chooses to save the child, both mother and child will definitely die in the end, and it will be very painful. Furthermore, if the child is born and grows up, it will definitely harm the world. You must make a choice," Void said.
"Master, is there any other way? If Mengting really loses the child, she might be in unbearable pain." Wu Jian was somewhat helpless.
Master Void took a deep breath, thought for a while, and suddenly said, "There is, but it will save your daughter. As for the child, he can be kept, but whether he can survive will depend on his destiny."
"Oh? Please tell us, having hope is better than not. As long as my daughter can live safely, as for the child, if he doesn’t die immediately, she might not be so heartbroken," Wu Jian thought this would be a good result.
Master Void nodded, "On August 10th, the Celestial Pill Sect is holding a trial, which will open the Five Elements Extreme Realm. The so-called Five Elements Extreme Realm is a place where the Five Elements gases coexist, forming Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi individually, but together they are called Evil Qi."
"Evil Qi is mostly harmful to normal cultivators, but for your daughter, it’s quite the opposite. The idea is to have her participate in the trial at the Celestial Pill Sect, and within the Five Elements Extreme Realm, absorb Evil Qi to temporarily suppress the Demonic Qi. In this way, she can return to normal for a while, and afterward, I will use the Calm Heart Technique to slowly inject the Demonic Qi into the child. In this way, the adult will be fine, but the child’s life after birth will depend on his fate, it’s your choice," Void explained.
Void felt he had explained clearly enough and needed not to repeat.
"So... this means transferring the adult’s Demonic Qi to the child, and then... treating the child after birth?" Wu Jian asked.
"More or less, this is the best solution. If not, when the child is born, not only will it be occupied by Demonic Qi, the adult will also be killed quickly by it. Currently, saving one person, with the child’s life as an unknown, is the best outcome," Master Void analyzed.
"Well, that’s true, but... if Mengting knew, she definitely wouldn’t agree," Wu Jian was somewhat helpless.
"That’s why I made her faint, to keep her from knowing," Master Void said calmly.
"Alright, let’s do as the master says. As for the Celestial Pill Sect’s trial, it requires Celestial Dao level one, but my daughter is only Profound Dao level one, can she do it?"
"I believe with your strength, it’s not difficult to elevate her to Tunnel one, right? As for the rest, our temple has two Qi Gathering Pills, hoping they can help her," Master Void did not explain further.
"Very well. Let’s do that then." Wu Jian understood the master’s words, namely to use his own strength to forcibly help his daughter level up. Although this meant it would take a while for his Powerful Qi to recover, for his daughter’s sake, he’s willing to make this sacrifice.
After the two had agreed on everything, Wu Jian pinched Wu Mengting’s philtrum, and she woke up in pain, not panicking when she saw her father right in front of her: "Dad, what happened to me just now?"
