Chapter 1098: Zhao Lei’s Plan
They were the ones who miscalculated. Just as they launched their attack, Zhao Lei waved his hand, and the squad pulled back in an orderly retreat for about twenty meters. Suddenly, a group of people burst out from both sides of the mountain road, scaring the enemy soldiers into a brief panic.
The Dao father and son were already Celestial Dao experts, and with Lu Botong leading a dozen elites in a charge, in less than three minutes, over half the enemy were dead or wounded. Seeing this, Zhao Lei waved his hand, and the more than two hundred men behind him sprinted forward. In no time, the enemy army was completely annihilated.
"Hoo..."
The Sword God took a deep breath. They had finally made it up the mountain.
"Everyone, we’re almost at the summit. We still need to be careful later. Looks like there are two paths up the mountain, and the one we’re attacking clearly has very few people, not the main force. I don’t know if the enemy went up ahead of time. In a bit, follow my orders—no one acts on their own." the Sword God reminded them.
"Got it, Senior Sword God." Zhao Lei nodded.
Dao Feng and Lu Botong naturally listened to him and also nodded, and the team began to advance slowly.
On the mountaintop.
After circling with Daoist Changqing for a while, Chen Tianlong had basically figured out where his Death Gate was. This guy had no guard up anywhere else, but that sword in his hand never relaxed for a second.
So Chen Tianlong sensed something fishy and decided to test him on purpose.
Seeing Daoist Changqing’s Soft Sword thrust over, Chen Tianlong twisted his body to the side, sliding in fast, grabbed Daoist Changqing’s wrist, then squeezed hard. With a yelp, Daoist Changqing hastily swung his left fist at Chen Tianlong.
But Chen Tianlong didn’t stick to the fight. After all, the man was Celestial Dao Six-Star. Relying on speed to unexpectedly grab his wrist was already pretty good. If he kept attacking, the other guy was already on guard; it wouldn’t be that easy.
Besides, Chen Tianlong’s goal this time wasn’t to attack, but to probe.
He saw that after Daoist Changqing’s right wrist was injured, he still gripped the Soft Sword tightly, as if even if he couldn’t fight, he had to hold onto the sword to block attacks.
Chen Tianlong finally saw it—the problem had to be in that palm.
Now alert, Chen Tianlong began using his ultimate. He’d been saving his Flaming Frenzy Dragon Fist for a long time. Taking advantage of the guy’s pain and loose grip on the sword, Chen Tianlong lunged forward. Sure enough, the Soft Sword thrust out again, but Chen Tianlong had expected it and directly activated the Overlord Body of the Twelve Leg Kicks.
With that, the flexible Soft Sword stabbed into Chen Tianlong’s chest with a clang. Daoist Changqing’s palm flared with pain, and he hastily let go of the hilt.
Right at that moment, a silver needle in Chen Tianlong’s left hand flicked out lightly.
Whoosh!
It hit dead center in Daoist Changqing’s palm. Without a doubt, Daoist Changqing’s eyes bulged wide—his Death Gate had been struck.
Chen Tianlong seized the chance and stepped in, slamming a Wildfire Fist straight into his chest. With a boom, Daoist Changqing was sent flying, spewing a mouthful of blood and passing out on the spot.
"Fuck!"
The five Taihang Sect disciples saw this and immediately raised their swords, rushing in to behead Chen Tianlong.
"All of you, stop right there!"
Hao Shuai shouted quickly.
Right now he was toying with Chen Tianlong, not trying to kill him. These idiots rushing up blindly would just mess up his rhythm. Losing one person was nothing; he still had plenty of backup. What the hell was there to be afraid of?
Everyone hurriedly backed off, and then the one who stepped forward was Situ Feng. Situ Feng had long wanted to test himself against Chen Tianlong. He really hadn’t expected Shen Yan to act with Chen Tianlong and put on a show to screw him over. When he went back this time, he was definitely going to take care of that bitch.
Actually, even if Situ Feng didn’t come out, Chen Tianlong would have found a way to drag him out. Since Situ Feng had seen him, that meant Shen Yan was exposed. If Situ Feng was allowed to leave alive, she definitely wouldn’t live.
"Chen Tianlong, let me trade a few moves with you." Situ Feng said calmly.
"Heh, being able to spar with the principal is really my good fortune. But Principal, my hands are a bit heavy. I think you’d better stand aside and let someone else come up." Chen Tianlong said with a playful grin.
"Hmph, keep acting cocky. Shen Yan betrayed me. Not only are you going to die, she’s going to die too!" With that, Situ Feng dove straight at him.
Chen Tianlong had long been wary of this old bastard. Anyone who could hide under his nose for so long was definitely a crafty old fox; ambush tactics were surely his specialty too.
As expected, Chen Tianlong immediately leaped back. Just as he landed, he stomped hard on the ground. In his mind, this Situ Feng was too damn hateful. If not for him, his master Ye Feng wouldn’t have died, so he had to kill him.
Without any pause, three silver needles in Chen Tianlong’s hand shot out at high speed, merging into one and traveling incredibly fast.
Unfortunately, it seemed Situ Feng had been prepared. He suddenly dodged to the side. Although his heart was still pounding afterward, it had only brushed past him and didn’t hit.
"Heh, you think the same trick can hurt me twice?" Situ Feng laughed smugly, knowing that Chen Tianlong had just wasted a big move. To be honest, if he hadn’t seen Shangguan Ba get taken out by this trick before, he really wouldn’t have been on guard.
Chen Tianlong was a bit depressed. Such a good move had been dodged by this guy. If he tried it again, it probably wouldn’t work.
Thinking it over, Chen Tianlong decided to use the Flaming Frenzy Dragon Fist. At the moment, it was the only move he had with the greatest power. As for the Wildfire Fist, he had to reach Celestial Dao Seven-Star before he could practice the second form, which really made him speechless.
As they clashed again, Chen Tianlong blasted out a Flaming Frenzy Dragon Fist. But Situ Feng didn’t need to dodge at all. He was Celestial Dao Six-Star, and although Chen Tianlong had exceeded his expectations by reaching Celestial Dao Five-Star, there was still a gap. He had no need to fear a direct confrontation.
Boom!
Their fists collided. The power difference wasn’t that big, but Situ Feng was a Six-Star expert already infinitely close to Celestial Dao Seven-Star, so he was clearly a bit stronger than Chen Tianlong.
Originally, Chen Tianlong had planned to use his trump card and draw the Dragon Slayer Sword, but then he remembered there were plenty of other experts on the enemy side, even Celestial Dao Seven-Star ones. Hao Shuai definitely had more backup. If he showed his sword now and let everyone see through all his moves, wouldn’t he just be signing his own death warrant later?
Hao Shuai, for his part, also wanted to see what other weird moves Chen Tianlong had. Otherwise he would have had Celestial Dao Seven-Star Xiao Changfeng deal with him already.
"So you’re nothing special after all." Situ Feng had probed Chen Tianlong just now. He’d been a bit wary after seeing Chen Tianlong one-shot Shangguan Ba, but now it seemed the power wasn’t all that.
"Heh, so what?" As Chen Tianlong spoke, he was already condensing a Powerful Qi Bomb. His biggest move had been used and hadn’t even scratched Situ Feng, so he could only turn to his ace in the hole.
"Oh? Condensing Powerful Qi, huh?" Situ Feng suddenly said.
Chen Tianlong froze. Did this guy know something? How could he even tell he was condensing Powerful Qi?
"Don’t be confused. You’re the surviving orphan of the Chen Family from back then. Too bad that Old Chen can’t leave the village, so no one can help you. As for your dead old man, he might still have some prestige, but that’s all in the past. Now the Celestial Pill Sect has three Great Perfection experts. Even if Chen Feng shows up, they still won’t be afraid of him." Situ Feng spoke the truth.
"Tsk~"
Chen Tianlong sucked in a breath. Looked like this Third Elder of the Celestial Pill Sect really knew a lot.
No wonder. Situ Feng had been hiding in South Sea City for so many years just to investigate Chen Feng’s whereabouts back then and confirm whether he was truly dead.
