"Let’s continue leveling up," Klaus said as he scooped more live larvae into the polybag and crushed them.
[Host has killed a mutated monster: Klaus Murrow is the best host ever!]
Seeing the delightful notification, a smug look appeared on his face.
Within the next few minutes, he leveled up twice by killing twenty-five and fifty live larvae; however, a new notification stopped him.
[Host has reached daily level-up limit!]
Klaus frowned deeply and asked, "Why is there a daily limit to leveling up?"
[Leveling up forces your body to increase its physical and mental abilities. Because the human body, awakened or not, cannot withstand such rapid growth in such a short period of time. The limit has been added to make sure the body doesn’t fall apart.]
"That does sound reasonable," he mumbled.
I planned to complete all the missions related to killing mutated monsters today, but it seems that I will have to wait.
Well, it isn’t a big deal; I have more than enough time to complete them later.
Shaking his head, he whispered, "Status."
[Status]

[Stat Point: 12]
[Daily Tasks: 5/5]
"My stats have increased a lot," he said as he flexed his arms and rose from his seat.
[Obviously, you have leveled up six times within thirty-two hours.]
"I know. I know," Klaus blew air out of his lips and mumbled, "But I have to check how much difference they made."
He was already feeling much stronger, faster, and more agile than before.
If he had to compare the two, his current self was a lion, while the old Klaus had been little more than a stray dog.
He nodded to himself, but the system didn’t like his plan.
[Are you planning to leave your shelter once again?]
"Are you my mom? Stop worrying all the time," he snorted and walked into his room.
[I am not worried, I cannot be. I am being logical and reasonable.]
"Suuure."
A few minutes later, he left the house in a dark gray t-shirt and black gym shorts.
A smile creased his lips as he caressed his bike and asked with a hint of worry, "You weren’t feeling lonely, were you?"
[Host, I have a question.]
"Hmm? Why are you asking to ask? just ask," he scoffed and climbed onto the bike.
[I was being considerate and polite.]
"Yeah, yeah. Just ask already."
He put the key in and just as he was about to twist it, a screen appeared before him.
[Are you an objectophile?]
"..." he stared at the screen with an extremely dumbfounded expression. "A what?"
[An objectophile is a person who holds intense romantic, emotional, and sometimes sexual attraction to specific inanimate objects.]
"...Seriously?" Klaus was left stunned by the system’s way of processing information.
The system stayed silent.
Klaus shook his head and added in a mischievous tone, "Aren’t you also a kind of inanimate object? You should hide from me."
[And I am the pervert.]
"Tch," he clicked his tongue and twisted the key.
The bike roared furiously as it rumbled to life, and Klaus left for the gym.
Fifteen minutes later, the bike halted in the parking lot of a large building full of big glass windows. By the entrance was a solid text sign of "Saitama Performance Center"
This place was the best in the city and was prominently used by athletes and top talents.
Klaus had once helped the owner of the performance center with his finances, and in return, he had received a pass that allowed him to come and go whenever he wanted.
He was like a VVIP.
As he walked to the entrance, two muscular guards dwarfed him and asked at the same time, "Membership card?"
’Heh.’ Klaus smirked inwardly and pulled out a red card with the owner’s signature and the performance center’s logo from his wallet.
The moment the two guards saw it, their eyes widened. Their expressions turned respectful at once, and they quickly stepped aside.
"Welcome, sir!"
"Keep up the good work," he said as he patted the shoulder of one of the guards and walked inside while grinning like an idiot.
The insides of the performance center were filled with chairs and sofas, with a canteen on the left selling related equipment and supplements.
[I am starting to understand why almost half of the human population died on the first day of the apocalypse.]
Klaus’s steps continued toward the hallway at the end. "Why?"
[The sudden appearance of monsters must have made them stupid. There is no other reason for them to continue doing what they were doing before. All of them are voluntary slaves to the system, even though the system has fallen or has shown signs of disaster, they cannot let it go. The delusion of freedom and safety has blinded them.]
Klaus’s smile vanished even though the system was bugged and it was thinking that the apocalypse was currently going on; this statement was true even during current times.
A chuckle escaped him.
At the same time, he reached the first training room.
The performance center had multiple training rooms for various sports, including running, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics, throwing, and so on.
Though the first he had decided on was a simple gym with machines and equipment for cardio, strength training, weight loss, endurance training, and much more.
The place already had over twenty people on various machines. In front of them, Klaus looked like an average, lean man.
’Hoh. Let’s get started.’
He wore his gloves as he walked toward the machine he was most familiar with. It was a chest fly machine.
He set the weight to the highest, which was 100 kg or almost 220.5 pounds, and then he sat on it.
"Let’s see how hard it’s going to be."
He gripped the handles and then spread his arms apart like wings.
Klaus had genuinely expected that there would be some kind of resistance, but... There was nothing.
A loud noise echoed through the training room as the handlebars moved unrestricted and collided with the metallic spine of the machine.
"Huh?" Klaus glanced at his hands with his eyes wide in surprise.
"What the hell are you doing?" A sharp feminine voice cut through his disbelief.
