Upon hearing the announcement of Boogie Billy's third match, Jes's eyebrows slightly furrowed. He looked towards the Tutor Team and found Bach nodding gently to him.
So Jes pondered for a moment, then turned and entered the preparation passage.
The stands erupted in a cheer!
But...
The arrangements by the Tutor Team were once again unexpected.
It was clear from the start of the mecha battles that Dingchuan's lineup order was far from the traditional strategy of saving the strongest for last.
Qi Longxiang calmly watched the arena, his voice as steady as always, which inexplicably calmed people's hearts.
"With deception and reality intertwined, three consecutive battles can disrupt the opponent's lineup strategy. If the mecha team's situation is really as Mentor Bach said, then these three victories have already given us a significant advantage. However..." Qi Longxiang's voice hesitated slightly.
"However, what?" Bach turned his head.
"Stop keeping us in suspense, I'm getting anxious listening to this," Ruan Xiongfei felt a bit irritable, as he hated this kind of brain-teasing stuff the most.
"However, the morale of Gonia War Academy's side hasn't fallen much, which indirectly suggests two possible issues... First, the opponents' determination is far beyond what we've seen through Manker Supervisor."
"And then?" Ruan Xiongfei felt a tightness in his chest, this cliffhanger style was making him restless.
"Second, it means the opponents are confident their upcoming players will achieve something, so they aren't worried about the current situation. Sixteen out of twenty are smiling, which is the worst outcome."
"In other words, after this match, the real tough battle begins..."
Qi Longxiang's methodical analysis revealed a harsh truth to several tutors.
...That the Gonia War Academy really came prepared this year.
"I'll go make a combat mobilization."
Upon hearing this, Bach could no longer stand still and hurried towards the preparation area.
...
Five minutes later, a black-and-red-painted mecha from Gonia War Academy's side, covered in flame markings, slowly descended, with faint flames seemingly burning at its hand positions.
"This is the energy guerilla-type mecha [High Fire Wizard]! Its ultra-wide-range firebird is nearly unavoidable in this terrain. Dingchuan probably has some suffering to endure this time."
"Which mecha will Dingchuan Academy deploy this time? Unless it's an energy-countering ice-type mecha."
"Ah... [Commander Roland]?"
When the blue mecha, crossing the arena with the stride of a Hundred Battle General, appeared, the audience was taken aback.
"A strong-control close combat mecha, the area here isn't big to begin with, why do something superfluous? Apart from that surprise Duel Field, Commander Roland has almost no ranged attack capability."
However, these questions went unanswered.
Obviously, Jes had his reasons for such a choice.
"Gonia, will triumph!"
"Dingchuan, victory in ten thousand battles!"
Amidst the intense cheers, the two referees finally announced the official start of the battle.
Boogie Billy, who had been holding back for a while, finally released his voice, spitting out strings of compliments and praises like a machine gun.
The High Fire Wizard raised both hands overhead, and a dazzling fire dragon swept across the sky in an instant, expanding into countless fire snakes crashing down.
Meanwhile, Commander Roland displayed astonishing moves from the start, causing Mu Fan's eyes to narrow.
[Chaotic Zigzag Step]!
Commander Roland, wielding a command saber, began flashing Z-shaped afterimages in the arena, with incredibly skillful maneuvers, the speed of the blue human-shaped mecha closing in on the High Fire Wizard, becoming increasingly swift.
"Red Cat's gone berserk so fast?"
Manker, one of the Seven Martial Generals, raised an eyebrow. Noticing Mu Fan beside him inadvertently, a realization flashed in his eyes.
It seemed Mu Fan's brilliant combat earlier had sparked this seasoned War General of the Mecha Club.
Mu Fan watched the two mechas with focused eyes as well.
Every mecha appearing in this arena was a whole new world for him.
But beside him, Gu Yunyou seemed a bit sleepy and started yawning out of boredom.
"With your skills, do you still need to watch these mecha battles?" Gu Yunyou casually asked.
Mu Fan shook his head, "He's right. My current mecha battles rely more on the mecha's extraordinary performance, which now exposes the gap between myself and others."
Mu Fan spoke earnestly, his expression showing not a trace of insincerity.
Gu Yunyou couldn't help but chuckle slightly, then shook his head with a sigh.
"What's up?"
Mu Fan looked over in confusion.
"Clearly more capable than everyone else, yet you outwork everyone, too... how is anyone supposed to keep up?"
Gu Yunyou shrugged, then burst into laughter.
Mu Fan immediately scratched his head in embarrassment, a radiant smile spreading as he continued focusing on the match.
Gu Yunyou's right hand tapped the armrest rhythmically with two fingers, his gaze already drifting beyond the stands to somewhere unknown.
[Now, everyone should be here.]
Young Master Gu's thumb gently rubbed his palm.
In the pause of his thoughts, Commander Roland leapt forth using the Chaotic Zigzag Step three times in a row to dodge the menacing fire dragon and wide-range firebird attacks, eventually closing in within 10 meters with a brilliant surprise move [Flipping Swallow Fly].
This distance, of course, was vast for humans, even absurdly so, but for Commander Roland, it was also its most dangerous moment!
The High Fire Wizard had gone berserk, unleashing all its energy attacks without reservation, immediately forming a terrifying sea of flames.
At this range, the difficulty for Commander Roland to dodge began to rise exponentially.
The air trembled with a hum, and at this moment, Commander Roland's speed suddenly doubled.
Mu Fan only saw the command saber being raised high, slicing through the air and space, carrying an indescribable chill, slashing heavily at...
The space 3 meters in front of the High Fire Wizard?
Mu Fan was astonished, "Is this..."
"This mecha's signature skill, the Duel Field," Gu Yunyou casually replied beside him.
Mu Fan felt a surge of admiration, couldn't help but turn back and praise, "You're really knowledgeable!"
"It's all in the database."
Gu Yunyou waved the Sky Communication in his hand, and Mu Fan instantly felt like black lines were crossing his forehead.
The saber landed, and everything went silent...
"Huh? No effect yet?"
"Just wait a bit more..."
Bang!
With a heavy thud, a white gust resembling a wind wall exploded from beneath the saber's tip.
These white gusts instantaneously formed a square formation, completely enclosing the High Fire Wizard.
"Once trapped, the match can end early."
Gu Yunyou pouted, his gaze shifting away to the people behind him as he yawned.
"Get ready to go on stage, don't disgrace the first three."
The cheerful notification nearly incited a riot in the mecha preparation team.
Mu Fan looked wide-eyed at his rather sly roommate, his admiration soaring instantly.
