The single knife planted in the ground, Long Er's unabashedly arrogant tone, caused the Dingchuan Academy formation to burst into laughter.
In contrast, the Gonia War Academy side was all wearing sullen expressions.
Manker looked at Long Er on the platform with a displeased expression, recalling the bold words he had said during their meeting, only to have his Gonia pack of wolves completely defeated by the fierce spirit of the Dingchuan students during the academy duel.
It wasn't until the strongest opponent stepped onto the stage that Manker was shocked to find that his Gonia wolves were entirely no match.
At this moment, he truly realized he had encountered an invincible and formidable adversary.
However, to be defeated just like that was absolutely not something Manker was willing to accept!
He looked at the referee's inquiring gaze on the stage, at Long Er's face with a smile but cold as a blade. His chest heaved for a moment, then he gave a sinister smile and raised his hand to signal.
The referee cast an inquiring look.
"Does Gonia War Academy have any objections?"
"No objections, just that we, Gonia, need to apply for... the ultimate evasion right." After saying this, even Manker, with his thick skin, couldn't help but blush.
Gonia needed a dignified way to lose; they absolutely couldn't be eliminated like Chen Jiantian was, blasted away by Long Er's ferocious stance.
Although Gonia failed, they couldn't be eliminated in such a manner!
According to the matches over these four days, there weren't many contestants left from Dingchuan Academy either.
When this phrase was spoken, even the audience paused.
Those students who were visiting the Capital Star for the first time looked at each other in confusion.
"What is the ultimate evasion right?"
Apparently, this term was unfamiliar.
But still, quite a number of students familiar with the rules exclaimed after thinking for a moment.
[Ultimate evasion right]...
If one side fights to their last person and the other is not at their last, the weaker side can apply to avoid the current opponent once.
This was the last fig leaf left for many academies in this competition.
After all, this was not a battlefield of life and death, and it could well prevent a scenario where an academy was completely overwhelmed due to an overly strong opponent.
Even after securing one victory and then conceding, that's the sole function of the ultimate evasion right.
"Many academies might not use this right, because if the strength gap is large, it's a lost cause anyway, so conceding is fine at the end." Lindberg looked fiercely at Manker.
"But in the current situation, Dingchuan Academy's morale is already high. If one more person is crushed by the opponent or if we concede, then..."
"Even if we win, we lose," Qi Longxiang said calmly.
"Yes! We must make the best use of this momentum. If we can't continue fighting with this morale, how far can Dingchuan go?"
Upon hearing Manker's voice, the referee signaled Long Er to leave the fighting platform and then looked towards Dingchuan's side.
"Gonia War Academy's application for the ultimate evasion right is successful. Contestant Long Er, please sit out one round. Dingchuan Academy may designate another participant for the next match."
"Cowards!"
Long Er glared at Manker's side with resentment, casually pulled the saber from the platform, snapped it into pieces with both hands, and let the fragments scatter as he briskly walked towards his team's stand.
He knew this was the stadium of the Dawn students, with countless academies participating. He must maintain the academy's dignity!
If it were at Dingchuan, he would definitely rush down and smash Manker into the ground, regardless of the repercussions from the academy!
But now...
Long Er was panting heavily, looking down at the platform, naturally noticing the calm gaze and familiar figure.
"Mu Fan?"
Long Er was taken aback, then suddenly pleased.
This robust body bent its knees, leaping from the platform and landing stably in front of several people.
"Has Lu Qingxue also come back?" Long Er's face was full of excitement. If the Dingchuan Valkyrie's sword technique were here, those cowards from Gonia wouldn't gain any advantage.
"She... took a leave of absence."
Bach pondered for a moment and then spoke out the truth.
"Huh?"
Long Er's mouth dropped wide open. How could such a huge event occur in the time of one battle?
This news left him completely unable to cope.
"Why?"
Just as Long Er opened his mouth, a grave voice came from the fighting platform.
"Dingchuan Academy, please assign a new participant."
The referee looked in this direction, subtly reminding them.
He was a professional referee from the Capital Star, undoubtedly having a partiality towards Dawn and Bonar College due to home advantage, but genuinely fair towards other academies.
Dingchuan Academy had ignored two inquiries, making him somewhat dissatisfied.
Just as the words were spoken, a voice rang out from below the stage.
"For this round, I'll go."
Mu Fan looked at Bach and Ruan Xiongfei.
"I want to fight this round."
He didn't convey what Lu Qingxue had told him.
Now, he simply wanted to fight on behalf of that serene silhouette in this match.
Upon hearing Mu Fan volunteer, Long Er, although with countless questions unasked, vigorously nodded and clamped Mu Fan's shoulder: "Mu Fan, first give those trash a good beating."
And Ruan Xiongfei, at this moment, grinned widely, "If not for keeping face, I'd damn well march over and punch them."
Bach's eyes blazed, "Mu Fan, your official status is a Dingchuan Mecha contestant, but now... I'll temporarily transfer you to the fighting team."
Mu Fan nodded.
"Well, go ahead now, and don't keep our opponents waiting too long."
Ruan Xiongfei chuckled sinisterly, casting a harsh glance at the opposition.
Mu Fan looked at the platform, glanced at the nearby weapon rack, casually grabbed a short stick, and walked forward leisurely.
On the Gonia War Academy side, a tall young man holding a two-meter-long stick in one hand was already standing on stage.
The black stick was held upright in the opponent's hand.
The student stood about 185 cm tall, with short golden hair, his tight T-shirt barely concealing his strong muscles.
Calluses spread across the palm of his hanging left hand.
His name was Di Xiu, and in Gonia War Academy, if judged solely by physical condition, he wouldn't make the top 10, but when it came to weapon fighting...
Di Xiu was nicknamed "Stick King", ranking first in Gonia's weapon combat!
"That guy across looks tough..."
"What kind of stupid rule is this ultimate evasion right? It's ridiculous!"
"Senior Long Er sits out a round, who else do we have? Clearly, they can't afford to lose."
"Wait..."
"Could it be they're letting him compete?"
All the astonished gazes focused on a figure below, and an uncontrollable storm surged in everyone's heart.
They clearly remembered what feats this figure had accomplished!
That figure represented an incredible record.
Since matriculation, till now... undefeated.
His opponents had long surpassed the academy... those countless strong ones revered by Solomon, Blood Teeth Team, and the Eight Great Families.
"Dingchuan..."
"...tyrant!"
In a moment of silence, the entire Dingchuan camp erupted into a fervor to the utmost degree.
"Victory!"
"Victory!"
"Victory!"
This terrifying wave of sound reached its peak in less than a second.
Members from other academies gathered below the stands were already gaping in dumbfoundment. This silhouette had ushered in a wave of cheers from its appearance, and now these cheers almost ignited the air above the crowd to boiling point.
Amidst thousands of focused gazes, Mu Fan silently, with eyes level toward the front, ascended the fighting platform step by step.
Then stood there casually.
